This presentation discusses the different types of sheds used in weaving machines. A shed is the temporary separation of upper and lower warp yarns through which the weft is woven. There are several types of sheds including closed, bottom closed, center closed, open, and semi-open. For a good shed it should be as small as possible, the healds should be at a right angle to the warp threads, perfect leveling of healds is needed, and the heald frames must have smooth movement.
