Microsoft Duet Enterprise is a software add-on that enables interoperability between Microsoft SharePoint and SAP systems. It [1] exposes SAP services and data to SharePoint and Office applications through out-of-the-box connectors, [2] allows users to compose interactions with SAP systems from reusable building blocks, and [3] enables consumption of SAP data and processes across browsers, clients, and phones. The solution provides quick time to value by simplifying access to SAP processes and information from within SharePoint and Office.

- #5 Important of ERP systems like SAPEnterprise systems such as SAP are the mission critical transactional backbone of the vast majority of enterprises today. There is tremendous efficiency to be gained from automating core business processes. SAP solutions excel at this.Challenges with ERP systemsHowever, such systems like SAP also have a set of challenges for both the business side of the house and the technical/IT side of the house. For example, one of the feedback that you hear from IT organizations is that SAP can be too brittle and complex and costly to keep up with business changes. Another common feedback: Custom solutions add complexity to the IT landscape. And of course: Lack of user adoption of Enterprise systems lowers the overall return on IT investments.On the Business side, the challenges are often associated to not be able to do their jobs properly because they don’t have access to the data and have to rely on either a core set of skilled power users or IT and unfortunately, IT being slow in addressing the needs of their business units.
