Sense and Sensitivity in Architecture – The Use of Five Senses in Space makingPremier Publishers
This study intends to look at the importance of the five senses in experiencing a space. The five senses include vision, touch, olfaction, taste and auditory. Architects need to look into how a space interacts with its end user. Architecture is the journey and not just the destination. It’s a whole package of experiencing a space and it’s not just about the architect. In the process of thinking and perception of architecture there is always more importance given to visual senses than the other senses and the problems of contemporary architecture is rooted in visual dominance and may be the result of unbalanced senses system. All our information about our surrounding world is achieved by our senses and this information help us in perception and recognition. A building should bring into perspective all the five senses, thereby giving a three-dimensional angle to the structure. This study also looks at the role of perception of a space for a person who is sensory impaired such as a person with blindness, deafness, dumbness etc. Therefore, we use Phenomenology of Architecture to experience a space through sensory properties.
Architecture, an important part of our environment, disturbs our experiences, feelings, memories, and ultimately the decisions we make. To explore the connection between architecture and the human Senses was the intention aimed at my paper. Whether positive or negative, everything created or done by man has an effect on his environment. Some people are more aware of their architectural environment some are less but at the end we all live with it and have at least an unconscious impression of it. We understand buildings through our senses. Although the five basic senses are often studied as individual systems covering visual, auditory, taste–smell, orientation and the haptic sensations, there is interplay between the senses.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Sensory experienceisasignificantpartof contemporaryarchitecture.Withoutthe interactingsenses,the environment

eye, ear, nose, skin, tongue, skeleton, and muscle.
Our bodies and movement are in constant interaction with the environment. If the experience of architecture is solely
dependentonvisual stimuli thenit isrefrainingit from beingas awholesome. As architecturetodayhave neglected the
transactionbetweenbody, imagination,andenvironment;several realmsof sensory experienceareunabletointeract
and fuse together. Forinstance,GeorgeBerkeleyassumedthat the sensory of vision and touchmustbe incorporated
in the shaping of haptic memory. Vision needs the help of touch that can give a sensation of spatial depth.

taking a walk in the forest is energizing and healing due to the constant involvement of all possible senses. The
complexityof impression manifested byarchitecture cannot be captured by a collection of isolated visual picture. A

a person because it intensifyour thoughts and imagination of the place.
Therefore, the role of senses must be taken into account during the design process because the human bodyis the
centre of the experiential world. In authentic architectural experiences, the senses are constantly seeking for
mechanisms, resulting, the presence of constant interaction becomes as essential part in the design process as it
facilitates a sense of belonging and integration.
