Hannah Richards created layout plans and designs for printed materials to promote the charity SASH, which helps homeless youth. She designed a leaflet in the shape of a house to catch the attention of her target audience of teenagers. The leaflet includes information about SASH and stories from youth they have helped. They initially considered remaking Hansel and Gretel or The Three Little Pigs but ultimately chose Goldilocks at the last minute. The author used rotoscoping in Photoshop to create simple images with bright colors suited to their young target audience of 2-5 year olds. While rotoscoping allowed for accurate images, shape tasks were also used but took more time. The author feels their images, text, and story are well suited to their intended audience due to the simplicity and clarity throughout.

Media bias has become more prevalent as viewers increasingly rely on media to shape their opinions on political and social issues. Journalists can claim bias by saying they are sticking to a "side" and only discussing one subject rather than multiple perspectives, and some bias is obvious like only stating the good parts of an issue and one bad thing. The information consumed from media is akin to an injection that automatically sends the viewer a message about a topic.

Steph Westerman is proposing a photo project that involves taking portraits of family members with their favorite pet incorporated into the image. She will take pictures of each pet separately and cut and tile the pet images onto the person's face and body to give the portrait a textured look. She will then alter the colors and contrast to make the images look pale and vintage. Her target audience is teenagers and young adults who would appreciate this artistic style that is similar to images seen on CD covers.

The first design is going to be my final design, it was originally going to be the poster of the man holding a sign but then I thought that a leaflet would be more interesting as it would contain lots of information and be more noteworthy than the poster, though they do have the same effect and make people feel guilty and want to help. The first design is better I feel as it’s clearer and you can see everything easily, whereas the second slide with the poster on isn’t very clear, you also can’t see the contact information clearly either because of the texture of the background of the poster and the colour that the font is in, though I needed to keep it blue to fit in with the logo or black to fit in with the other text, but whichever colour font I chose it still didn’t seem to work very well against the background, another thing about the background is with it being quite dark that will also darken peoples moods because from the off it’s quite sad/raw to look at. The leaflet which is going to be my final design is quite boring in a way just because of all the white space, though sometimes this can be good, and I’m hoping that I pulled off the white space well, I also used minimalistic colours so that the leaflet didn’t look too busy and overcrowded, the colour of the original SASH logo is green, so I made sure that I stuck with the colours green as well to try and make it look more professional. The shapes that you can see in the background of the leaflet also resemble the logo of SASH, which I think is a nice idea as it will allow people to always know or get a hint of which company the leaflet is brought to them by.
