The document discusses the results of a survey conducted at the 2013 Oracle OpenWorld Conference regarding document review processes amongst Oracle users. Some key findings include:
- 70% of respondents said document review was part of their job but 40% had no review process
- 95% said lack of a proper review process caused challenges like working on the wrong document version
- Common documents reviewed included procedures, product specs, code, and proposals
- Most reviews involved 2-5 people via email with no ability to work on documents simultaneously
- Oracle users reported more issues than SharePoint users with their review processes and were more open to alternative solutions like PleaseReview, a collaborative document review software.
Solving Content Chaos with Adhere for AlfrescoZia Consulting
In a recent ECM market study, 93% of respondents stated that they use SharePoint in some manner within their organization. In an interesting contradiction, only 11% of them see their SharePoint deployment as a success—and yet over 75% still have a “strong commitment” to SharePoint.
Does this sound familiar?
While it may seem counter-intuitive, for many organizations the best way to optimize their SharePoint deployment is with a modern ECM platform.

Look Beyond Data Trends - A Technique to Find Hidden Design Implications from...UXPA International
Contextual inquiry as a research method has gained its popularity these years among user experience practitioners. As a user researcher, we face excessive user data that are collected from field studies. Most of us review and analyze the field data by looking for trends of users’ responses and behaviors. For example, “Affinity diagram” has been commonly used to group and analyze the field data to identify any trends. However, in many cases, it is not enough to draw our conclusions based on a few “Aha!” moments. We should also consider the rich and “random” data that are not obvious to form trends, and abstract hidden implications from them. How we could accomplish it, however, has remained as a challenge.
In this presentation, I will start with a case study from our own work, and demonstrate how we found the hidden implications from our data. Then we will explore and discuss strategies and techniques from different perspectives.

How does the Modern Data Stack enable collaboration for data teams? Collaboration works like a flywheel that harnesses the collective energy of a data team and directs it towards new opportunities and innovation. Outstanding achievements emerge when teams collaborate to integrate and leverage their strengths towards a common goal. We’ll walk through some of the approaches that successful teams employ at Amazon, AWS, and Netflix to succeed on these fronts. We’ll also walk through what we called the Data Collaboration Stack, from DataOps to MLOps.
A successful collaboration strategy includes technology, process alignment, and the user experiences. However, organizations tend to focus the most on technology, and the least on people -- when the opposite should be true. As this presentation explains, culture is the key to any successful collaboration strategy.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Only consider an alternative Oracle

Consider an Oracle partner

Very likely
The high % of people considering an in-house
purpose built solution is likely to be as a result of
the inherent nature of the Oracle IT departments
whom are used to extending Oracle

16. No matter which platform is
being used, those involved in
document review are still
reviewing predominantly by
email and face to face
meetings
There is now more than ever,
a greater emphasis on how to
collaborate around key
business processes, and there
is much discussion around
the value of managing and
sharing content
However, there is a huge lack
of understanding and
awareness around what is
possible, so end users put up
with outdated and frustrating
methods of document review
A recent Whitepaper
published by Osterman
Research confirms ‘it is
important to incorporate
complimentary technologies
that augment its native
functionality*
However, to deal with certain
business processes, such as
collaborative document
review, it is necessary to look
out of the SharePoint box
Rarely has a platform
received as much hype as
SharePoint and there are
many reasons why this is
justly deserved
Oracle is a mature technology
and has a realistic idea of
what it can and can’t deliver.
This is demonstrated by the
willingness within its
community to seek out
alternative solutions
The most startling learning to
emerge is that 40% of
businesses surveyed don’t
have a process for the review
of business and time critical
complex documents. Is any
other process so overlooked?
There is no doubt that as
organizations gain an
increased understanding of
the benefits to be gained
through collaborative review,
people will seek out specialist
software solutions
So what does this tell us?
