Cyanotype is a
photographic printing
process that produces a
cyan-blue print. Engineers
used the process well into the
20th century as a simple and
low-cost process to produce
copies of drawings, referred
to as blueprints. The process
uses two chemicals:
ammonium iron(III) citrate
and potassium ferricyanide.

Over the next two weeks you are
going to produce at least two A2
Experiment boards showing two
different medias (one of these
experiments will ideally be what you
use for your final outcome so think
carefully about what media you
choose). This will pick up marks for
‘A02’. You should use your
photographs to work from (picking up
marks for ‘A03’). If you link your
experiments to Artists you can also
pick up marks for ‘A01’.
