Agile Upstream and Downstream Webinar - EnglishCollabNet
Enterprises continue to struggle with scaling agile planning across their varied development teams. As the chart above shows less than 20% have been able to scale agile planning. Still further, only 13% of workgroups have connected their upfront agile planning to their subsequent software development and delivery tools and practices. This leads to isolated high performing teams doing great work, but the enterprise continuing to struggle with the overall delivery of projects and products on time.
This webinar will show you CollabNet’s unique ability to bring these upstream and downstream practices together in a consistent repeatable manner, providing teams the ability to trace not only the work but the output of the work throughout the lifecycle and share that information with the business stakeholders.
Key Takeaways:
Understand the difference between agile upstream and agile downstream.
How CollabNet’s TeamForge platform can link together upstream and downstream agile.
Best practices for scaling agile development upstream and downstream across the enterprise.
How to gain visibility across the enterprise on how these teams are doing and how they can best collaborate with one another.
Continuous Integration promises faster delivery of higher quality software through an integrated automated build, test, and release management.

[QCon London 2020] The Future of Cloud Native API Gateways - Richard LiAmbassador Labs
The introduction of microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud technology has provided many benefits for developers. However, the age-old problem of getting user traffic routed correctly to the API of your backend applications can still be an issue, and may be complicated with the adoption of cloud native approaches: applications are now composed of multiple (micro)services that are built and released by independent teams; the underlying infrastructure is dynamically changing; services support multiple protocols, from HTTP/JSON to WebSockets and gRPC, and more; and many API endpoints require custom configuration of cross-cutting concerns, such as authn/z, rate limiting, and retry policies.
A cloud native API gateway is on the critical path of all requests, and also on the critical path for the workflow of any developer that is releasing functionality. Join this session to learn about the underlying technology and the required changes in engineering workflows. Key takeaways will include:
A brief overview of the evolution of API gateways over the past ten years, and how the original problems being solved have shifted in relation to cloud native technologies and workflow
Two important challenges when using an API gateway within Kubernetes: scaling the developer workflow; and supporting multiple architecture styles and protocols
Strategies for exposing Kubernetes services and APIs at the edge of your system

Intro to GitOps with Weave GitOps, Flagger and LinkerdWeaveworks
You may not think of "GitOps" and "service mesh" together – but maybe you should! These two wildly different technologies are each enormously capable independently, and combined they deliver far more than the sum of their parts: a single Git commit can control workflows customized for your exact situation by taking advantage of the service mesh's ability to measure and manipulate traffic anywhere in your application's call graph, and you can rest easy knowing that Git is preserving the complete configuration for your entire application every step of the way.
See how these technologies can work together to tackle complex problems in cloud-native applications.
What you’ll get out of this:
* Understand what GitOps and service meshes can - and can't - do for you.
* Understand basic operations with GitOps and Linkerd.
* Understand the basics of continuous deployment with Weave GitOps and Linkerd.
Continuous Integration (CI) is frequently implemented as a dev process and not tied to the rest of the software development life cycle. Resulting in shadow IT, silo’d processes and information, and ultimately a lack of real time visibility across all stakeholders. And even greater implications such as risk of IP loss due to lack of corporate governance controls (e.g., RBAC, security and traceability). Watch this webinar to learn how to scale CI as-as-service using Jenkins across an enterprise. As teams self-select their CI tools, using TeamForge would allow individuals across your enterprise to rapidly access CI tools of their choosing, while central IT maintains full visibility and control with minimal effort. In this webinar, we also present a case study for establishing an organization-wide build ecosystem at a global financial services company.

Securing Your App Deployments with Tunnels, OIDC, RBAC, and Progressive Deliv...Weaveworks
In a joint webinar with Traefik Labs, we show how Traefik Hub, a SaaS-based cloud native networking platform, helps you publish your containers securely in seconds with tunnels, OIDC authentication and automated TLS certificate management. And, how you can combine that with Weave GitOps to achieve continuous application delivery using progressive delivery strategies for risk-free and reliable deployments.
Security is key, so we showcase multi-tenancy for full RBAC across the different deployment stages, and trusted delivery best practices for continuous security and compliance baked in.
Learn how:
- To utilize canary deployments for reliable and risk-free application deployments.
- GitOps lets you automate and secure the publishing of containers at the edge consistently.
- Easy it is to deploy, update and manage your application workloads on Kubernetes.
- To publish containers securely using tunnels, OIDC authentication and TLS certificate management.
A Reference Architecture to Enable Visibility and Traceability across the Ent...CollabNet
Software development should not be a “black box” to the business, customers or other developers. Instead collaboration across stakeholders should be the norm--business, development and operations teams. Forrester recently reported that 13% of organizations doing Agile link “upstream” agile planning with ‘“downstream” development.
As a result, executives continue to have only limited or no visibility beyond the initial planning stage of what is in a particular release. It’s not their fault, because today’s tools focus on upfront planning and don’t give you visibility into what’s happening in development. Often times that visibility is too late resulting in software that gets delivered and does not meet the customer’s needs.
Join CollabNet’s most experienced senior solution architects as they explain how you can you gain real time visibility into all stages of the development process—from ideation into production through deployment. Imagine what can your teams get done if all stakeholders are able to collaborate together and view real time feeds into all stages of the delivery pipelines within a single easy-to-use system.
Who Should attend:
Any executive or manager interested in learning how to get traceability and visibility across the enterprise-- particularly, into the build and release management functions of their application lifecycle.
What will be covered:
An enterprise-scalable reference architecture for CI, CD, and DevOps
The importance of build management, release management and application release automation integration
A blueprint for scaling business agility across a large development organization How does CollabNet help organizations solve these problems
A demonstration of TeamForge’s capabilities using Git/Gerrit, Code Review, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, Chef and Automic

Scaling DevOps, whether that is in volume of projects and their associated artifacts, number of people involved, or geographically distributed working, is a growing challenge for the financial industry. Some of the themes this presentation will discuss include:
-Distributed versioning vs. mono repos – can you only choose one? There are many advantages to tools such as Git, but it can be hard to control the proliferation of repos, handle cross repo dependencies, and have visibility into the work of multiple teams. Is it possible to get the best of both?
-The right level of quality: Achieving the right balance between Agile and responsive development, with the necessary processes to achieve required quality levels, is not easy — especially at scale. Supporting code reviews and automated processes, such as continuous integration, need to be performant and flexible.
-Security, traceability, and auditability: Protecting mission-critical files and assets is essential to achieving DevOps and turning banks into operationally agile institutions. The following inherent features of preeminent version control systems foster DevOps at scale: disaster recovery, compliance management, reporting, and auditing.
-Case Studies: Real world use cases of how large financial services organizations and other global teams are tackling these issues.
Scaling Application Development & Delivery across the EnterpriseCollabNet
Software and applications are core to your business. Agile project planning and management have gone mainstream and the rest of the delivery chain has yet to catch up. According to Forrester 87% of organizations have not connected their Agile project planning to their downstream delivery processes. Organizations who are successful at the workgroup level are further challenged with scaling these successes across an entire enterprise.
Deploying secure, cloud native stateful applications requires a high level of performance across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Using the scalable, highly performant storage provided by Ondat in combination with Weave GitOps Trusted Delivery, you can shift left security and accelerate software development.
Watch this on-demand webinar as we demonstrate how:

DX, Guardrails, Golden Paths & Policy in KubernetesWeaveworks
Today’s modern enterprises are spoilt for choice with technology options, services and approaches. But in order to improve organizational productivity and development velocity, considering how developer experience plays a key role in these decisions will be a huge driver of their success.
DevEx is becoming increasingly critical for organizations because developers are important for building digital products and services. Organizations require developers to spend more time coding and less time working on infrastructure. Improving developer toolchains is essential for increasing productivity. But where does security sit in all of this?
James Governor, Analyst and Co-Founder of RedMonk and Steve George, COO at Weaveworks (the pioneers for GitOps deployments and infrastructure management) discuss the importance of DX and security in successful organizations today. They focus on how GitOps is enabling DevOps automation and allowing traditional CICD practices to shift further left.
Webinar: Capabilities, Confidence and Community – What Flux GA Means for YouWeaveworks
Flux, the original GitOps project, began its development in a small London office back in 2017 with the goal to bring continuous delivery (CD) to developers, platform and cluster operators working with Kubernetes. Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Who is CollabNet?
For 15+ years CollabNet has pioneered collaborative and agility driven software development for globally distributed teams. Instead of struggling with disparate and disconnected processes and tools, we realized that organizations and distributed development teams could realize greater innovation through a set of modern and transparent collaborative methodologies on a Web-based platform, which we call CollabNet TeamForge.
Along with TeamForge, CollabNet provides services that focus on helping companies overcome their software engineering challenges by bringing the benefits of open, agile and collaborative development methods to its teams of developers – inside and outside of their company. As such, we have trained 14,000+ individuals on Agile Scrum, in Public and Private Classes, across the globe. We have created best-practice development environments to facilitate the enterprise shift from On-premise and Packaged Software using Waterfall; to On-Demand and Cloud/SaaS/Mobile Applications using Agile. Our tool platform and services approach embrace automated or manual practices, local or distributed teams, tightly centralized or loosely connected client tools and flows, while at the same time provides unsurpassed organizational wide governance and visibility.
The business returns to our clients have been impressive, with enterprise rollouts achieving gains into the 10s of millions of dollars annually while achieving time-to-market and productivity gains of 10% - 70% depending upon the amount of i) agile approaches, and ii) collaboration employed by these organizations. These gains are just not possible with silo’d based tools and processes. Some of the best companies in the world, literally # 1 in their respective markets - FedEx, American Express, Walmart, HP, Capgemini, Deutsche Bank, the US DOD and many others - have standardized on CollabNet. CollabNet’s core product, TeamForge, is the innovation and collaboration backbone for these organizations. Due to our unique product differentiators and our deep experience in open source, agile development, and enterprise scale collaborative software development, CollabNet stands alone in being able to provide these results for global enterprises such as these and such as your company.
Let us highlight the key components of the CollabNet solution capabilities that have enabled these companies to achieve these results, and how your company can do the same.
Footnotes:
1 - The history protection feature in Bitbucket and GitHub is limited to blocking history rewrites (even though they are often necessary). The TeamForge implementation is more flexible, as it ensures full history protection, while allowing history rewrites to occur.
2 - TeamForge uniquely offers an easy-to-use wizard that significantly simplifies the process of defining quality gates.
3 - TeamForge is the only platform that includes branch deletion/resurrection in audit logs. Branch resurrection feature itself is unique to TeamForge.
