Mission Statement
The Ursuline College Career Forum is
dedicated to creating meaningful
connections with local businesses,
organizations and educational
institutions to assist our students in
planning and understanding the
pathways available for them to secure a
successful future.
What/Who is UCC?
Ursuline College Chatham is known locally by many as “The Pines”
Ursuline College is the only Catholic Secondary School in Chatham-Kent, and was
once known for the abundance of pine trees that landscaped the premises. Located at
85 Grand Ave West across from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Hospital, UCC
has been a part of proud Catholic Education since 1865. It was established by the
Ursuline Sisters as a girls-only school and became co-ed in the early 70’s. It is now
home to roughly 1400 students that reside in the county of Chatham-Kent.
Where will YOUR pathway lead you?

What is the purpose of our Career Forum?
For decades we have had young minds graduating and moving on to various
pathways, seeking careers of all shapes and sizes.
Some of our graduates are now teachers,
tradespeople, politicians, and many other
successful professionals; yet, many never had the
opportunity to speak with representatives in their
intended field to gain an early understanding of
the education, knowledge and skills to be
employed in their desired field. The Career
Forum intent is therefore two-fold:
1. To have professionals from a variety of companies, organizations and
establishments speak to students and parents regarding what pathways lead to
employment in their industry.
2. To connect our students and parents with various companies, organizations and
schools that educate and employ graduates from our school by extending an
invitation to these Chatham-Kent and the Surrounding Area organizations.
Itinerary:
This is an all-day event, with a significant break after school to allot time for dinner.
The intended schedule is as follows:

What is a Panel and must I be involved with it?
The panel provides those that attend our UCC Career Forum the opportunity to ask
various questions that will then be answered in a conference-style setting.
We understand that not everyone is comfortable with answering the many questions
asked of them, and only those who volunteer to do so will sit on the panel. We also
understand that there is a possibility that a representative may not be available to staff
your display but you may still be interested in
participating in our Forum. For situations
such as these we are comfortable with you
leaving your display unattended (at your own
risk), and ask that you set it up prior to 9:30
A.M., and tear it down no later than 9:00
P.M.. Displays that are left at the end of the
day will be stored temporarily with no
guarantee of their safe return.
What should I bring?
UCC will be providing [a] table[s] and seating for your party. We are limited to the
amount of multi-media equipment and extension cords we can provide and
recommend bringing your own if you require them for your display.
What time do I set-up and tear-down?
School begins promptly at 8:15. The start of the panel coincides with the start of
period two in our daily schedule. Therefore set up is preferred to take place during 1st
period (8:15-9:30) to avoid frustration and congestion in the hallways. Tear down will
commence at 8:30 P.M.
All-Access VIP Pass
Students and Parents attending will be provided with an All-Access VIP Pass. This
pass is simply a card that they can bring from table to table that they can ask you to
sign. Completed cards will be entered into a draw for prizes from the event.
