Dear Josh,
Thank you for talking to me last week about the recent job offer that you have received
which means that you will be leaving us at the end of this term. I am aware that you have
now shared the news with your department and I would be grateful if you could confirm
this to me in writing.
You have led the history department with drive and dedication and have achieved some
excellent results from the pupils. I am very grateful for all you have done and we will miss
you; though I do understand the reasons for your decision to go. We will be announcing
your departure in staff briefing tomorrow and will be advertising for a new head of history
(internal applicants) and a humanities teacher (externally) with a view to making an
appointment before the end of term.
Thank you for your excellent commitment to the school and to the pupils and I wish you
every success and happiness at Beit Yaacov, I am sure you will thrive there.
