Introduction
In this experiment Professor Yang’s EXS 111
class was to participate in two separate
dance-related ganes on the Wii. These two
particular game were Just Dance and Dance
Central. In these games you had to dance to
familiar songs and hit certain poses the
dancer on the screen was showing you. If
you completed the pose to what they
thought was correct, you would earn points.
It was a fun, yet different way to get up and
get moving.

game and in the end most
of the class preferred to

In this particular study Dr. Yang’s EXS 111 class of
21 people went into a biomechanics lab. Here all of
his students participated in two games: Dance
Central and Just Dance. Before we started
everyone’s resting heart rate was recorded. We
played each game for about fifteen minutes. After
each game our heart rate was taken again, and our
exertion and enjoyment was recorded on a 1-10
scale. Then, once everyone’s data was recorded
we had to do calculations. We found the class
average of each subcategory for each game by
adding everyone’s number up and dividing by
twenty-one. However, heart rate had one extra
step, which was multiplying by four. In the end, we
found that Just Dance was the game that was
favored by the class.
In conclusion I
seemed to be
pretty close to the
class average for
all categories,
however I did
seem to enjoy the
games a little bit
more than others.
