This document lists frequently used formulas in the S&P Capital IQ Excel plug-in version 8.x for balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, ratios, consensus estimates, credit ratings, and other financial metrics. It provides the formula names and a brief description for over 200 financial formulas for analyzing companies.
User Defined Functions is an important feature of Spark SQL which helps extend the language by adding custom constructs. UDFs are very useful for extending spark vocabulary but come with significant performance overhead. These are black boxes for Spark optimizer, blocking several helpful optimizations like WholeStageCodegen, Null optimization etc. They also come with a heavy processing cost associated with String functions requiring UTF-8 to UTF-16 conversions which slows down spark jobs and increases memory requirements. In this talk, we will go over how at Informatica we optimized UDFs to be as performant as Spark native functions both in terms of time and memory and allow these functions to participate in spark optimization steps.
Oracle Exadata is a packaged solution offering from Oracle, configured with bundled hardware, storage and database, which is touted to be optimized for handling scalable data warehouse-type workloads in query and analysis.

How Adobe Does 2 Million Records Per Second Using Apache Spark!Databricks
Adobe’s Unified Profile System is the heart of its Experience Platform. It ingests TBs of data a day and is PBs large. As part of this massive growth we have faced multiple challenges in our Apache Spark deployment which is used from Ingestion to Processing.
In this project, I will work in SpaceX company and try to predict the Falcon 9 first stage. It’s important to know if the rockets will land successfully or not because the failure will cost the company many resources.
The Interactive Grid is introduced in APEX 5.1 as a best of both worlds of Tabular Forms and Interactive Reports. Although a lot of settings are declaratively avaible within the APEX builder, there are a ton of features built in that are only accessible by JavaScript.
In this session you will learn how to use the most interesting "hidden" features with just a few lines of JavaScript.
Some examples:
- Adding and removing buttons from the Interactive Grid toolbar.
- Adding and removing actions from the toolbar menu.
- Adding and removing functionality from the row level pop up menu.
- Removing complexity on the column level.
- Adding tooltips to a column.
- Changing the layout of columns and headings.
- Refreshing (only) changed records within the grid.
- Removing only deleted records from the grid - without a full refresh.
Moving eBay’s Data Warehouse Over to Apache Spark – Spark as Core ETL Platfor...Databricks
How did eBay move their ETL computation from conventional RDBMS environment over to Spark? What did it take to go from a strategic vision to a viable solution? This paper will take you through a journey which lead to an implementation of a 1000+ node Spark Cluster running 10,000+ ETL jobs daily, all done in a span of less than 6 months, by a team with limited Spark experience. We will share the vision, technical architecture, critical Management decisions, Challenges and Road ahead. This will be a unique opportunity to look into this awesome Spark success story at eBay!
Getting the Most out of EPMA: HFM Managing Metadata with EPMAfinitsolutions
Whether you previously used Hyperion Enterprise or managed a classic HFM application, moving to EPMA provides many benefits (but also has unique tricks you should know about!). In this webinar, we will review many of the enhancements that EPMA can bring to metadata management, such as:
• Shared metadata among different products or HFM applications within the same environment
• Comparisons of changes between what is loaded and what you are about to load
• Renaming a base member without losing previously-loaded data
• Enhanced features to identify and exclude orphan members
• Audit trails of metadata changes (“Who changed THAT attribute?” “Um, YOU did!”)
o Some do not always see this as a good thing, but auditors like it…
Of course, there are also a few areas we’ll cover to help you understand some limitations with EPMA and some possible workarounds to certain issues, including:
• Needing to be online to work within the web-based tool
• Must view validation error notifications one at a time on web compared to in a single text file
• Some additional complexity due to more features being available to use
Managing metadata with EPMA is what is being taught in Oracle’s HFM Administration training classes, and we hope that after attending this webinar, you will also discover some benefits to using EPMA with your current or future applications.
Optimizing spark jobs through a true understanding of spark core. Learn: What is a partition? What is the difference between read/shuffle/write partitions? How to increase parallelism and decrease output files? Where does shuffle data go between stages? What is the "right" size for your spark partitions and files? Why does a job slow down with only a few tasks left and never finish? Why doesn't adding nodes decrease my compute time?
In this presentation, Vineet will be explaining case study of one of my customers using Spark to migrate terabytes of data from GPFS into Hive tables. The ETL pipeline was built purely using Spark. The pipeline extracted target (Hive) table properties such as - identification of Hive Date/Timestamp columns, whether target table is partitioned or non-partitioned, target storage formats (Parquet or Avro) and source to target columns mappings. These target tables contain few to hundreds of columns and non standard date fomats into Hive standard timestamp format.
