The IELTS exam format consists of four sections - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking - to test English language proficiency. The Listening section includes four recordings of varying difficulty levels. The Academic Writing section contains two tasks - a 150-word description of provided text and a 250-word essay. The Academic Reading section comprises three long passages and 40 questions. The Speaking section involves a face-to-face interview with an examiner consisting of three parts. The General Training format focuses on social and workplace contexts and assesses similar skills as the Academic format.
