Exam procedures require students to turn off phones before entering the exam room in silence. Only exam materials are permitted at desks. Students may ask examiners questions by raising their hands but not about exam content. Cheating such as communicating with others, bringing notes, or sharing work will result in failing the exam. When finished, students must leave materials and leave silently without early departure. Students should address any questions with tutors before the exam.

2. Before the exam
• Before entering the room turn your phone off
or put it on ‘plane’ mode.
• Please enter the room in silence.
• All bags and outdoor gear must be left
outside the room.

3. During the exam
There should be nothing on your desk apart
from:
• exam papers
• rough paper
• headphones (for listening)
• Stationery
• (no pencil cases or glasses cases)

4. During the exam
• If you have a question raise your hand and
wait for your examiner to come to you.
• You can ask questions about the format but
not the language.
• Cheating is not acceptable. If you cheat, you
will be asked to leave the room and you will
fail the paper.

5. What is cheating?
• Communicating with other candidates in the
exam room.
• Bringing any notes of any kind in any format
in to the examination room.
• Looking at someone else’s paper.
• Showing your paper to someone else.

6. When you have finished
• Please leave the exam papers and all rough
paper on your desk. Cross out any rough
notes you made.
• You can not leave the exam room early or at
any point during the exam.
• Silently leave the exam room.
