2. The Phonograph

The record player, phonograph or gramophone was the most common device for playing recorded sound from the late 1870s until the late 1980s.In 1877 American inventor Thomas Alva Edison created the first phonograph.Using a sheet of tin foil mounted on a hand-cranked cylinder, he spoke into the diaphragm from a telephone’s mouthpiece, which was connected to a stylus needle from a telegraph machine. His voice created vibrations in the stylus, which etched out scratches on the tin foil. The first historic words ever to be recorded and played back were, “Mary had a little lamb/ Its fleece was white as snow/ And Everywhere that Mary went/ The lamb was sure to go.”

5. Originally developed in 1962, the cassette tape is still the most widespread method of sound recording. They’re reliable, cheap and capable of Hi-Fi stereo sound.These things were popular in the late 60’s. you might have seen them in movies when people walking around carrying these on their shoulder.They started from the big cassette player to a portable cassette player. This helps the public to carry it with no hassle . And the good thing of being portable is that when you’re finish with them you can just put it in your bag.

7. Silvery, shiny, and invented by Sony and Philips in 1982, the Compact Disc or CD wasn’t popular at first but eventually became the medium of choice by the end of the ‘80s. CDs eliminated the hiss of tapes and the snap-crackle of record players, leaving listeners with a pure musical experience.The first CD player was priced at a whopping $900, which now seems like a huge amount owing to the reduced prices of the CD players. The invention of the CD and the discovery of the CD player are considered to be huge milestones in the field of digital sound and music industry. Well, of course today, we have moved on to our IPods and Mp3 players, but the invention of the compact disc players was the pioneering step, which led to further developments in digital sound technology.

8. IPods and Mp3’s

9. MP3 technology has changed the music industry by letting the people to download, transfer, rip and share music over the Internet. You can also share music from computer to another, and from computer to cool devices like the ever-popular iPod series, which let you carry almost your entire music collection with you wherever you go!The IPod is an amazing discovery. It has changed the way people think about music players. Music players are no more old big boxes which look really ugly. The IPod looks better than any other music player in the market. Apple has had great success with the IPod. The way the IPod looks, the way it works, and the way it feels is just amazing. Jon Rubinstein with his team at Apple was given a one year's period to create the Apple IPod. Tony Fadell and Michael Dhuey were also a part of the team. They successfully completed the project and the did it. This is the team who invented the IPod.

10. Has it got bigger or smaller?Well, as the years goes by the music players got smaller and became portable. It enables the users to carry it around without getting tired of how heavy it is, now that its smaller people can exercise, jog and even use it for relaxation. Before music players don’t have headphones, this causes the old ones to disturb people. Now mp3’s and IPod's got their own headphones this won’t disturb people any more unless you plug it on your speaker!!! 

11. Does it use less energy than it used to?I don’t think that it uses less energy because music players before only requires battery or an outlet power. And music players today also needs an outlet power and a battery which is not and energy saving device. But the difference is that MP3/IPods now lasts longer than the old ones

Has the design changed to make it easier to use?Yes, as the years goes by , the design of the music players changed now its more like thinner and more portable than it used to be and also gotten small which lets you to put it in your bag or pockets after you are done with it.And music players today also have a built in screen which allows you to watch videos, see what music is playing and also play games. 
