Thickening with cationic surfactants
Thickening is the increase of viscosity of a liquid solution. Cleaning products are thickened to allow for easier dosage and application to the surface and to increase the contact time on inclined and vertical surfaces such as toilet bowl and tile walls. The longer adherence results in an improved removal of soil, limestone and microorganisms as well as in enhanced perfume release.
In addition to moderate to extreme thickening across pH 1 to 14, the use of surfactants provides additional benefits such as cleaning and foaming, stability in chlorine and hydrogen peroxide bleaches, fragrance solubilization, disinfection support, corrosion inhibition.
AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry has a wide range of products for thickening cleaning formulations including ethoxylated amines (Ethomeen®), quaternary amines (Arquad®), and amine oxides (Aromox®) all based on our nitrogen chemistry core technology.

In contrast, companies like Warner Bros. and Lionsgate focus more on larger-budget Hollywood productions. Fox Searchlight and Momentum Pictures were also considered but Entertainment Film Distributors is the clear best choice given their experience and focus on independent horror films.

Hammer also has a partnership with Warner Bros, which could provide access to A-list talent, equipment, and publicity that would increase the financial success and recognition of the production.
3 Which Media Institute would distribute your product and why?
Our independent British film "Obsession" would likely be distributed by Working Title, a major British production company known for films appealing to both British and wider audiences. Alternatively, ScreenGems or Rainforest Films could distribute to reach broader audiences. Working Title has successfully distributed films with similar themes of relationships and emotions, while ScreenGems and Rainforest Films focus on genres aligned with our film and target audiences that could connect with its cast and themes. As an independent film, our lower budget also means lower risk if the film does not perform as well as hoped.

- 5. Television ProgramThere are many different production companies out in the world, all responsible for their productions. Production companies such as ‘Paramount Pictures’ or ‘Columbus Pictures’ are some of the far greater and larger companies, but you can also get much smaller ones.

Our Production Logos As a group we felt that ‘Twisted Pictures’ would be a perfect production company to work with due to the fact it is known for the type of ‘Thriller’ and ‘Horror’ films it makes, such as ‘SAW’ . ‘Paramount Pictures’ was the company that would be funding our film. We felt that ‘Paramount Pictures’ would be an extremely helpful production company have due to their success and the fact they have produced films similar to ours, such as ‘Paranormal Activity 2’.
- 7. What does a Distributor do? A film distributor is either a company or an individual. They are responsible for releasing films to the public either theatrically or for home viewing (DVD, Video-On-Demand, Download, Television). Usually once a distributor owns the film, they can do what they want with it. Like most Distributors, they will get people to promote the film, to make a success and so people pay to see it.
- 8. Our Film Distributor As a group we decided that our distribution company would be ‘paramount Pictures’. Paramount Pictures is an American film production and distribution company, located in Hollywood. It is was of the top grossing profit companies throughout the film industries which made us pick them as a production company. Having ‘Paramount Pictures’ as a distributor could lead on to bigger ad better things, maybe even a second film. Paramount also produced many films just like ours which really interested our group.
- 9. Why was the film ‘Shifty’ chosen by Metrodome? Shifty is an action packed UK film. It is fast paced, full of violence, drugs and gang. Shifty is a pure British film, showing what some lives are like in Britain. Some films like ‘Shifty’ don’t need a big branded American production company as the film could end up being ‘Americanised’ and take away the true culture of the film. Metrodome is a United Kingdom-based company. This is perfect for a film like ‘Shifty’ due to the fact it is set in the UK, and that Metrodome shall be specialised in the UK film industry.
- 10. Funding For Our Film Our film shall be funded by ‘Paramount Pictures’. This is due to the fact the are a huge Hollywood film company, producing many films and having one of the most highest gross profit from a film. Due to Paramount having a lot of money, the will use a technique called ‘Saturation Release’ ,enabling all cinemas to play our film at the same time. This way more people will begin to hear about our film, meaning more people will watch it, making more money.
