1. What Have You Learned From
Your Target Audience Feedback?
Evaluation Question 3
2. How We Gathered It
We collected our target audience feedback by carrying out recorded
interviews with various members of our target audience, with
ages ranging from around 18-40. As our target audience was so
vast, we tried to take samples from all age ranges and genders.
Included in this was one of the actors we used, as we wanted to
gain feedback from his perspective on our texts.
We Put the recordings on SoundCloud in order to better listen to
and analyse them by listening through a few times and taking on
board what they said.
The questions asked were;
• How well do you think the three texts are linked?
• Do you feel they support or subvert the genre of Punk Rock?
• How do you feel about the three texts aesthetically?
• Do you feel the texts offer more of a focus on the artist or the
music
3. What We Learned
• We learned that the three texts fit together well, with the recurring themes of
the make and female and the microphone helping to create identification of the
branding.
• The decision to have a monochromatic theme created and maintained the
dark, gritty, almost depressing theme, more common to modern punk bands
and their designs, which is what we were aiming for.
• We had a divide in the opinions over the idea of whether the artist or the music
showed in the focus of our branding. Some felt we focused on the artist, as the
pictures were of the singer and of the two characters throughout all three
texts. Others, however, felt we focused more on the music side of things, as
there was little to no real classification or attention drawn to the artist.
