As my target audience was people age
from 15+, I wanted to represent youth
in a positive way as my magazine is a
pop/chart music magazine, and most
of the artists who are pop musicians,
are represented as clean cut and have a
target audience from 12+.
Artists in my magazine are represented in
a positive way. It conforms to usual
stereotypes, as they are shown to be
confident and friendly which appeals to my
target audience of my magazine, which is
15+.
My double page spread main image was a pop star ‘Stacey
Silver’. She is shown to be very confident and friendly by
her pose and by smiling directly at the camera. Her clothes
are very girly and her black cardigan and tights make her
stand out and look stylish. Her makeup is done in a simple
way to make her seem clean cut and cute, to show that she
is a young pop star. Her hair is down as it makes her stand
out as her hair is a very bright auburn colour.

She is shown to be quite down to earth and ditzy when
she says in her interview ‘’The album is kinda in
chronological order from the first track being all crazy in
love and the last being completely over him. An album is a
good way to get closure!’’ She shows she is trying to be
herself and by being very friendly she seems like a
nice, genuine person; which would make the target
audience like her more and be more interested in her.
Gender representation in my magazine
sticks to usual stereotypes. The boys in
my magazine are portrayed as stylish and
confident and the girls are portrayed as
friendly and genuine. The boy on the
right, Jimmy, is shown to be very
confident by his open body language and
his funny facial expression. This makes
him seem like a funny person and very
confident. The girl on the
right, ‘Daniela’, is portrayed as friendly
and stylish by the clothes she is wearing.
By giving direct address and smiling, she
seems friendly and confident.
