This document discusses how the media product uses and develops conventions of real horror films. 4. Did I plan to conform to conventions? Yes I wanted all the codes and conventions of horror films in my production as I thought the theme or genre of my film would be lost if I didn’t use them. If the genre was lost the film would be confusing to an audience, making them lose interest, therefore causing a lost of profit.

5. What was conventional in my production? Location - my locations were different then what you would expect from a teen horror movie. I have done this because I wanted my production to stand out. I feel the difference of the locations will attract the audience more because it is something different and therefore interesting. Names of characters – these names and the reasons I have used these names, i.e. to represent innocence, are usual in horror films. Film Title – My film title is conventional for horror movies because it connotes hunting which produces fear when talking about hunting people.

6. Is my product successful? Yes I do believe my product is successful in doing what I set out to do as it contains conventions of teen horror films but also contains differences such as the different locations.
