HollyThomson learned several things from audience feedback on various projects: 1) Audience feedback is important to determine which parts of a project are successful and which need improvement. It provides both positive and critical feedback. 2) Feedback helped improve drafts of a poster, film review, and short film. For the poster and film review, different drafts were presented to focus groups and their feedback showed which draft was favored and suggested changes. 3) Feedback on the short film showed positive reception to certain scenes but also suggested adding captions throughout to identify who was calling or texting the main character. All feedback was considered to make the final products as strong as possible for the target audience.

2. Audience feedback
■ Audience feedback is important because it shows which parts are successful and which
parts aren’t as successful and need adapting.
■ Audience feedback is carried out to get both positive and critique feedback.
■ Taking the feedback on board helps to ensure that the final product appeals to the
target audience as much as possible, it helps to ensure that the final product is at its
highest possible standard and successful.
■ I carried out audience feedback after my first poster draft, first film review draft and
my first cut.

3. Audience feedback – Ancillary tasks
■ I decided to produce three poster drafts and then present them to a focus group in order
for me to get feedback.The feedback showed which draft was the focus groups’ favourite
and why, the feedback also gave suggested improvements. All the feedback was taken on
board when producing the final poster.
■ The feedback showed that draft 1 was the most favourable and therefore this was taken
forward to further editing.The feedback showed that the font of the title should be
changed to make it bolder and clear for the view to read.The tagline font should also be
changed to make it clearer to read from a distant.
■ I decided to produce three film review layout mock ups which I then presented to a focus
group in order for me to get feedback. the feedback showed which layout was most
appealing to the group.The feedback also included suggested improvements to make the
review even more appealing and interesting for the target audience.
■ The feedback showed that draft 3 was the most favourable and therefore this was taken
forward to further editing.The feedback showed that more screenshots should be added to
make the review more visually appealing, colour should also be added and a rating could be
added.

6. Audience feedback – first cut
■ After producing the first cut for the short film I produced a questionnaire on Survey
Monkey. I decided to create a questionnaire so that I could get both positive feedback
and criticism feedback.
■ The feedback from the questionnaire showed positive feedback, the ending scenes
proved to be particularly successful with the focus group.The focus group also had
some areas from improvements, these suggestions including captions throughout the
film, for example timings and captions of who was calling and texting Jade.
