Plot
Point of
view
The plot is also one of the elements of
a narrative which consists of several
events. The events tell the action and
conflict that leads to its climax and
conclusion. It is the storyline plan or
scheme.
The plot may be presented
through literary devices or
narrative techniques such as
the following:
1. Chronological-Sequential
Arrangement of Events
2. In Medias Res
3. Flashback
Chronological-
Sequential Arrangement
of Events – the story has
beginning, middle, and
ending.
In Medias Res - “in
the middle of things”
The story starts in
the middle without
exposition.
Flashback – is the
interruption of the
current story to show
a scene from the
past.
 Who are the characters
in the story?
 What did the
grasshopper do? What
about the ant?
 Why is it the ant keeps
on collecting foods
while the grasshopper
keeps on playing?
 If you are to choose
one character from our
story, who would that
be and why?
 In the school, how can
you show that you are
hardworking?
 Was the story has
beginning, middle and
ending part?
We can also use signal words to indicate
sequence of events like first, then, after and
last.
Grasshopper had no food, very
hungry and sad, thinking that Ant
had enough food because he had
work hard to prepare in advance.
Ant remembered last winter
and how deep snow had
covered everything. Now, an
even worse winter was
predicted.
Clue words: remembered,
recalled, reminisce, etc.
