Five students from KG Reddy College of Engineering & Technology submitted an abstract for their mini project on designing a charging circuit for electric vehicles. The proposed charger circuit includes a diode bridge rectifier, interleaved boost DC-DC converter, and single phase DC-AC inverter. An interleaved boost converter is discussed and a single phase DC-AC inverter is modeled and analyzed using different modulation techniques, with sinusoidal PWM chosen. Inductive power transfer technology is used for battery charging. A simulation study was conducted in MATLAB/SIMULINK and a prototype was built to validate the simulation results.
