This document provides an overview of the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). It describes the RASFF as a network that allows food control authorities to rapidly exchange information about risks detected in food or feed. The RASFF is established under EU law and includes EU member states, the European Commission, EFSA, and EEA countries. When a serious health risk from food or feed is identified, it must be immediately notified through the RASFF network so all countries can quickly take coordinated action to protect public health.
