Essay Against Animal Testing
The rights of animals are a deeply discussed subject, one that usually ends with the idea that animals
are a waste of rights. This proposal is incorrect, however many people have agreed and obstructed the
rights of innocent animals.
On May 28 2016, Harambe, a 17–year–old gorilla, was murdered (20). This was intended to be for
public safety, however, this could be thought of as something else (20) "Harambe grabbed and
dragged the little boy after the boy fell into the gorilla exhibit, officials said" (21). In the Cincinnati
Zoo and Botanical Garden, a 3–year–old boy climbed under the fence of a gorilla enclosure and fell
into the moat (20). Some say that Harambe had grabbed the child and was intending to hurt him
(21). However, when he had...show more content...
Animal testing is the inhumane usage of animals to test products meant for humans, to see if it
will harm skin, eyes, etc. The process involves inflicting torture methods such as burns, wounds,
neck breaking, decapitation, force feeding, deprivation of food and water, and many more
methods. (34) Some products being tested on eyes involves "rabbits being incapacitated in stocks
with their eyelids held open by clips, sometimes for multiple days, so they cannot blink away the
products being tested" (34). Each year, 100 million animals are killed in the U.S for commercial
testing. According to the U.S. torture code of law, if done to ahuman, this crime can result in no less
than 20 years in prison and sometimes even death, depending of the severity of the situation (42).
The fact that animal testers are off the hook, even paid to do so, is unfair to the animals who can not
speak for themselves. The real problem with this is that because the animals have completely
different bodies and systems than humans do, the results are not always valid (34). This means they
do these terrible things to the animals for nothing, for a result that may not even be

Glad wrap, Colgate, Listerine, Mars bars, M&Ms, Skittles, and Kleenex tissues. You may not
know it, but over 100 million animals are being tested for products like these, every year for our
benefit. However, in the technological society that we live in today, we are exposed to many
alternatives, and yet, animals are still the main source of laboratory studies. How did this all start?
Which animals are bearing the brunt, for us?
Dogs are viewed in the world today as loyal, caring, passionate creatures. So, how did man's "so
called" best friend become a toxicology experiment? Believe it or not, thousands of dogs in captivity
have to endure living with feces, worm infestations, deformed bodies, and pus–filled infections all
for testing. Some cats have holes drilled into their skulls and electrodes attached to...show more

It's either them or us.
Many years ago humans observed animals. They discovered and learnt what caused their death. It
was this method of observation that lead us to actual experimentation. Animals were deliberately
exposed to different types of plant material or bacteria to find which toxins made them sick and
which made them thrive.
The famous Greek physician and surgeon, Claudius Galenus or commonly known as Galen, started
to experiment with animals. But the modern era of animal testing started around 400 years ago. Back
then, Animals were treated worse than they are now.
We test animals, and as a result, there is ongoing debate. There are alternatives but they are still
developing and aren't always available. So when we do have to test, for things such as medicine,
there are rules. Reduce, Refine, and Replace. Also known as the three R's, this is a more humane
way to test on animals. Reduce being they reduce the amount of animals to use in the tests. Refine
is a test method that refines animal use; and replace is replacing animals for systems such as
computer models, biomedical or cell–based

Animal Testing: Are You With Or Against It?
What do you know about animal testing? If you know what is animal testing, then are you with or
against it? Animal testing is a process that has been happening for truly quite a while for different
reasons, for instance, making therapeutic meds, choosing the risk of particular medications, insisting
the security of a thing proposed for individuals, and other human administrations jobs. Because of
animal testing, various cures and drugs to a blended sack of illnesses and diseases have been
observed that may have for the most part continued plaguing humankind as the years progressed.
Without request, animal testing has exhibited profitable on more than a few occasions all through
history.

Some of the world's most beloved and beautiful animals are exposed to brutal, intolerable conditions
each day– merely for the benefit of human kind. In fact, over 100 million animals are poisoned,
burned, immobilized, abused, and utterly stripped of their freedom as they undergo multiple
commercial and scientific tests every year. These tests are physically and emotionally demanding on
the most harmless of creatures, including dogs, cats, and rabbits. Animals are subjected to severe and
intense situations where they have no way of escaping. The Animal Welfare Act saves certain
animals from extreme abuse, however the amount of protection given to each animal is very
minimal ("Animal Testing"). Because the Animal Welfare Act is unable to protect nearly 100 million
animals in experimentation processes from inhumane treatment, commercial and scientific testing in
laboratories should be banned when cheaper alternatives can be used as replacement. Commercial
testing is the process where commercial products are experimented on animals to identify if the
substances threaten the health of human individuals. Some of the most common household items
are tested, including items produced by top cosmetic brands like Maybelline, CoverGirl, Chanel,
Sephora, and L'Oreal. Pesticides, windex cleaners, vaseline, Kleenex, band–aids, post–it notes,
deodorant, toothpaste, perfumes, and food additives are among countless other products that abuse
the existence of animals ("These Beauty Brands").

Paul Furlong, Professor of Clinical Neuroimaging at Aston University (UK), states that "it's very
hard to create an animal model that even equates closely to what we're trying to achieve in the
human" (HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL, 2013). This is what we need to get through
scientific research in order to replace animals by new alternative scientific methods.
In 1959, Russell and Porsche presented the idea of 3Rs which is viewed as an essential option

store bought products are tested and why the product itself so good? Well,–over 100 million animals
are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in "United States"(U.S.) labs yearly from animal testing

animals, the lack authenticity of results, and there are alternative ways of testing: as promised,
public awareness is finally starting to play a role in the elimination of the problem. Innocent animals

Knowing that animals spend their live in cages, unable to make normal choices or express their
natural behaviors hurts. Most animals never experience fresh air or sunshine in their natural habitat,
they only experience cages and pain .All the poor animals suffer through mental and physical health

accept animal testing when they think that these animals don't suffer and that it's necessary, of
course that is not true because animals suffer from all the painful experiments being used in them.
Back in 2010, Minnesota used more cats for testing than any other state, New jersey used the most
dogs using more dogs than any other state, and massachusetts used the most primates than any other
state. This needs to stop. The variety of animals being used each day, week, month, and year is

One of the reasons why i believe that animals in a laboratory should be abolished of being
conducted into research is a bad idea because the cost for the maintenance of the animal is to much.
we all know that when you get an animal you need to take good care of it. Taking care of a animal
means that you need to be dedicated the time to the animal so people spent tons of money to keep
the animal is great shape. When someone spends money on a object is because that person cares
about that object that he is speeding his money on. In a laboratory, scientist spent the same great
amount of money then any other regular people would do just to keep the animal alive but in the
other hand scientist buys animals for the animal in order to perform the chemical drug to the animal.

Countless owners walk their dogs through the park, parents take their kids to buy a new pet, and
an elder is enjoying the company of his/her cat, but while animals are in a loving home, another
side of evil lurks. Somewhere out there in a research lab a little chimp cries out from a bar steel
cage whimpering at the approaching needle, shaking; thanks to the echoes she hears of her brother's
cries and asking the constant question "why", "Each year, more than 100 million animals–more than

All this is always justified by pointing out future benefits for people, but most of these tests are
ignorant. Because every species have different nutritional needs, bodily functions and reactions to
substances. It doesn't make any sense to test on them. That and is just unnecessary pain and torture
for these beings. "Without doubt there are many experiments that will fail or lead to no use full
therapy– such is the nature of all science" ("Animal Experimentation" 4). The results are inaccurate,
there is a little chance of creating a cure that works for both animals and people. For example, when
rabbits are tested for makeup products, people are tested anyways after the animal trials. "Vioxx, a
drug used to treat arthritis, was found to be safe when tested in monkeys (and five other animal
species) but has been estimated to have caused around 320,000 heart attacks and strokes and 140,000
deaths worldwide." (Crueltyfreeinternational.org, "What is animal testing?"). Therefore, as most
animals are tested for things that people "need", that medication that is used will eventually get
abused. There are cheaper and less cruel methods to test medicine without hurting animals or people,
like artificial skin. I understand that scientists are using animals to "find cures" but greater of them
will fail and an animal's life goes to waste......as this is the generation of technology. "Animal
experimentation–an institutionalized form of exploitation– stands in the way of moral progress"
(Haggarty 6). Animals are not needed anymore; they have somewhere better to be at, where they can

Millions of animals suffer due to effects of testing they must endure. This testing is usually done
unethically and causes major harm. It's wrong to harm animals for the sake of testing products for
society. Furthermore, animals are living creatures just like humans and should not be treated
differently. While testing animals may be cheaper, it is morally wrong and causes many harmful
side effects in animals. First, not only is animal testing cruel and distasteful but it is morally wrong.
Killing animals for fur products such as coats, earmuffs, beanies, and scarfs is unjustifiable.
Researchers have horrifying ways of killing these creatures by snapping their necks, boiling in water,
and electrical shocks so they don't damage the fur that they need for the products. It matters because
animals don't deserve this treatment and have done absolutely nothing to harm nobody to cause
actions like these. In the article,...show more content...
Therefore, it is distasteful, and all animals are part of nature, made by God, and were not used to see
if my lipstick color is safe to use. To ever harm any animal for the sake of testing any man–made
product you should step back and think would I want to do this to myself and if not, why you are
doing this to a harmless animal that just wants love and attention? While testing animals may be a
humane way for most researchers and scientists it is morally wrong and causes many harmful side
effects in many animals. There are more to come in the future unless we make a stand to dissolve
these crimes. Consumers should join forces with PETA and eliminate all products being tested on
animals and make an appeal to a law with such strict force demanding all humans and animals are
equal. Using a bunny logo on products gives the consumer a choice of what they buy and doing this
eliminates animal testing for any future

Animals all over the world are being mistreated and abused, what have we done to help them? Over
many years animal testing has developed life saving techniques. Though it has taken the lives of
over 2.6 million animals lives just in the us alone. Animal testing is a growing issue throughout the
entire world, not only is it affecting the lives of the animals, but the people who use the products too.
It may not physically be hurting them, but more so emotionally. The moral issue is that no animal

Animals are a thing of the past to be tested on. New ground breaking programs have shown us that
technology is an amazing creation that is allowing us to grow human skin and conduct tests on it.
This will also avow us to stop experimenting products on animals, conveying a more authentic
conclusion. Kara Rogers acknowledges the use of other variables of testing in her article, "Scientific
Alternatives to Animal Testing: Progress Report" that, "Artificial human skin, such as the
commercially available products EpiDerm and ThinCert... More useful results than testing chemicals
on animal skin" (Rogers). Animals can not be replicated o test on to get accurate results. So this
indicates the push for using something more similar to human skin which can bring a better outcome
to lab results. Animal testing is a growing issue throughout the entire world and the main issue is
animals do not have a voice to speak their rights. We currently do have the technology to test
products on them without harming anyone or anything. The Humane Society points out that animals

Proponents of animal testing say that animals do not have rights, so it is acceptable to experiment
on them. However, studies have shown that animals can suffer similar humans, so it is speciesism to
experiment on them while we hesitate to experiment on humans. To expand, "Discriminating against
animals because they do not have... language or moral judgment that humans do is no more
justifiable than discriminating against human beings with severe mental impairments". This
metaphor justifies that it is unfair to attack their species without restraint, but refrain from doing the
same to ours. If animals can still feel pain and endure suffering, then why should humans inflict this
upon another living species? To go further, humans are as much of an animal than any other
creature on this Earth is. Scientists and researchers categorise virtually everything on this planet as
either a plant or an animal, and as humans are not plants, we are animals. So why should one
species of animal be able to inflict pain on another? This is, again, speciesism against another
capable living

Some people believe it reduces the risk of harming a human since its considered inhuman to test on
humans. Testing puts animals through very uncomfortable situations like going blind because some

we use products that are harmful to humans even when we know it can hurt them.
Now instead of putting animals though that torture there a various options to alternative testing. For

Arguments Against Animal Testing Essay
Animal Testing There is much debate over whether animal testing should be allowed or not. Some
people think that it is not essential to sacrifice animals for human benefits because they are being
abused and tortured severely during experiments. Some others who stand against animal testing
claim that humans eliminate many lives on earth in order to safe humans' lives, so there is no
justice because even animals have the right to live on earth, yet these people do not consider the
truth that animals are being used in the food industry or in the laboratories. Thus, if someone asks
how many animals are being used in the laboratory experiments around the world every year, who
can give an accurate answer? It can be one, ten, or fifty million. It is difficult to find the exact
figure on this question because people only read news through mass media such as having a new
vaccine which can help human avoid uterus cancer or a new medicine help humans cure strokes, but
they also need to know how many lives of the animals would have to take in order to get theses
vaccines. Therefore, some organizes think that animal testing is one of the most disturbing
experiments ever, and it should be banned. Despite many controversies with opposing opinions, a
compromise can be made in order to reduce the use of animals in the laboratory experiments. In the
problem, there are always opposite sides which can create the debate about using animals in the

Arguments Against Animal Research
Animal research has been used for several centuries as part of experiments conducted to assure the

concerns millions of life animals that are constantly in danger for unethical practices. Animal testing
has brought many debates worldwide among countries that are against this practice. I believe that the
use of animals for such purposes is cruel and unnecessary. It has been argued that animal testing
contributes to life–saving cures and treatments, such as the discovery of insulin, essential for the
patients that struggle with diabetes; the polio vaccine, and so on. These researches, and so this

Against Animal Testing Cruelty

  • 1. Essay Against Animal Testing The rights of animals are a deeply discussed subject, one that usually ends with the idea that animals are a waste of rights. This proposal is incorrect, however many people have agreed and obstructed the rights of innocent animals. On May 28 2016, Harambe, a 17–year–old gorilla, was murdered (20). This was intended to be for public safety, however, this could be thought of as something else (20) "Harambe grabbed and dragged the little boy after the boy fell into the gorilla exhibit, officials said" (21). In the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, a 3–year–old boy climbed under the fence of a gorilla enclosure and fell into the moat (20). Some say that Harambe had grabbed the child and was intending to hurt him (21). However, when he had...show more content... Animal testing is the inhumane usage of animals to test products meant for humans, to see if it will harm skin, eyes, etc. The process involves inflicting torture methods such as burns, wounds, neck breaking, decapitation, force feeding, deprivation of food and water, and many more methods. (34) Some products being tested on eyes involves "rabbits being incapacitated in stocks with their eyelids held open by clips, sometimes for multiple days, so they cannot blink away the products being tested" (34). Each year, 100 million animals are killed in the U.S for commercial testing. According to the U.S. torture code of law, if done to ahuman, this crime can result in no less than 20 years in prison and sometimes even death, depending of the severity of the situation (42). The fact that animal testers are off the hook, even paid to do so, is unfair to the animals who can not speak for themselves. The real problem with this is that because the animals have completely different bodies and systems than humans do, the results are not always valid (34). This means they do these terrible things to the animals for nothing, for a result that may not even be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay Against Animal Testing Glad wrap, Colgate, Listerine, Mars bars, M&Ms, Skittles, and Kleenex tissues. You may not know it, but over 100 million animals are being tested for products like these, every year for our benefit. However, in the technological society that we live in today, we are exposed to many alternatives, and yet, animals are still the main source of laboratory studies. How did this all start? Which animals are bearing the brunt, for us? Dogs are viewed in the world today as loyal, caring, passionate creatures. So, how did man's "so called" best friend become a toxicology experiment? Believe it or not, thousands of dogs in captivity have to endure living with feces, worm infestations, deformed bodies, and pus–filled infections all for testing. Some cats have holes drilled into their skulls and electrodes attached to...show more content... It's either them or us. Many years ago humans observed animals. They discovered and learnt what caused their death. It was this method of observation that lead us to actual experimentation. Animals were deliberately exposed to different types of plant material or bacteria to find which toxins made them sick and which made them thrive. The famous Greek physician and surgeon, Claudius Galenus or commonly known as Galen, started to experiment with animals. But the modern era of animal testing started around 400 years ago. Back then, Animals were treated worse than they are now. We test animals, and as a result, there is ongoing debate. There are alternatives but they are still developing and aren't always available. So when we do have to test, for things such as medicine, there are rules. Reduce, Refine, and Replace. Also known as the three R's, this is a more humane way to test on animals. Reduce being they reduce the amount of animals to use in the tests. Refine is a test method that refines animal use; and replace is replacing animals for systems such as computer models, biomedical or cell–based Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Animal Testing: Are You With Or Against It? What do you know about animal testing? If you know what is animal testing, then are you with or against it? Animal testing is a process that has been happening for truly quite a while for different reasons, for instance, making therapeutic meds, choosing the risk of particular medications, insisting the security of a thing proposed for individuals, and other human administrations jobs. Because of animal testing, various cures and drugs to a blended sack of illnesses and diseases have been observed that may have for the most part continued plaguing humankind as the years progressed. Without request, animal testing has exhibited profitable on more than a few occasions all through history. • 4. Persuasive Essay Against Animal Testing Some of the world's most beloved and beautiful animals are exposed to brutal, intolerable conditions each day– merely for the benefit of human kind. In fact, over 100 million animals are poisoned, burned, immobilized, abused, and utterly stripped of their freedom as they undergo multiple commercial and scientific tests every year. These tests are physically and emotionally demanding on the most harmless of creatures, including dogs, cats, and rabbits. Animals are subjected to severe and intense situations where they have no way of escaping. The Animal Welfare Act saves certain animals from extreme abuse, however the amount of protection given to each animal is very minimal ("Animal Testing"). Because the Animal Welfare Act is unable to protect nearly 100 million animals in experimentation processes from inhumane treatment, commercial and scientific testing in laboratories should be banned when cheaper alternatives can be used as replacement. Commercial testing is the process where commercial products are experimented on animals to identify if the substances threaten the health of human individuals. Some of the most common household items are tested, including items produced by top cosmetic brands like Maybelline, CoverGirl, Chanel, Sephora, and L'Oreal. Pesticides, windex cleaners, vaseline, Kleenex, band–aids, post–it notes, deodorant, toothpaste, perfumes, and food additives are among countless other products that abuse the existence of animals ("These Beauty Brands"). • 5. Arguments Against Animal Testing An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States for scientific and commercial testing (PROCON.ORG, 2015) and More than 4 million animals are experimented on inside British laboratories in 2012 (ANIMAL AID, 2014). Killing animals by laboratory experiments generates a lot of anxiety about the future of wildlife, which led to the writing of this essay. In the beginning of this essay, It will discuss both Points of View against testing on animals. After that it will demonstrate review of cruelty and brutality suffered by the experimental animals. It will then focus on the alternative methods and finally It will be shown that testing on animals is out of date. In spite of the practice of experimenting on live animals gives...show more content... Paul Furlong, Professor of Clinical Neuroimaging at Aston University (UK), states that "it's very hard to create an animal model that even equates closely to what we're trying to achieve in the human" (HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL, 2013). This is what we need to get through scientific research in order to replace animals by new alternative scientific methods. In 1959, Russell and Porsche presented the idea of 3Rs which is viewed as an essential option systems (ANIMALMOSAIC.ORG, n.d). It incorporates the accompanying: Firstly, reduce the quantity of tests. Secondly, refinement of the seriousness of the tests and the species utilised. At long last, replacement of animal test. The point of this idea is to reduce the effect of animal testing and replace them with non–animal methods.(THE 3Rs MICROSITE, 2015). Dr Kathryn Chapman, head of innovation and translation at NC3Rs, the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research, says: "There has been a pharmaceutical ice age over the last 20–25 years. So people have been trying to find new ways of doing things, as the old ways don't work" ( PIESING, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay Against Animal Testing Ever wonder where some animals spend their times at or what people are doing to animals,?Or how store bought products are tested and why the product itself so good? Well,–over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in "United States"(U.S.) labs yearly from animal testing from chemicals. Animal Testing should be outlawed due to the pain and suffering of various animals, the lack authenticity of results, and there are alternative ways of testing: as promised, public awareness is finally starting to play a role in the elimination of the problem. Innocent animals suffer through various experiments each day not knowing if their going to live or die. According to the humane Society, "registration of a single pesticide requires more than 50 experiments and the use of as...show more content... Knowing that animals spend their live in cages, unable to make normal choices or express their natural behaviors hurts. Most animals never experience fresh air or sunshine in their natural habitat, they only experience cages and pain .All the poor animals suffer through mental and physical health and suffering from the boredom and fear of their daily lives. Research shows that people usually accept animal testing when they think that these animals don't suffer and that it's necessary, of course that is not true because animals suffer from all the painful experiments being used in them. Back in 2010, Minnesota used more cats for testing than any other state, New jersey used the most dogs using more dogs than any other state, and massachusetts used the most primates than any other state. This needs to stop. The variety of animals being used each day, week, month, and year is unbelievable. All the animals do not deserve being tortured like this it is insane, and some one has to be there to stop all this nonsense going on each Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Essay Against Animal Testing One of the reasons why i believe that animals in a laboratory should be abolished of being conducted into research is a bad idea because the cost for the maintenance of the animal is to much. we all know that when you get an animal you need to take good care of it. Taking care of a animal means that you need to be dedicated the time to the animal so people spent tons of money to keep the animal is great shape. When someone spends money on a object is because that person cares about that object that he is speeding his money on. In a laboratory, scientist spent the same great amount of money then any other regular people would do just to keep the animal alive but in the other hand scientist buys animals for the animal in order to perform the chemical drug to the animal. ...show more content... All living thins were created to experience life aand be with there family but labatory animals are isolated in cages thinking that they dont belong in these world is like for a human to be in prison for the rest of there life. to be these poor animals because some of these animals don't even make it alive. Scientist are wasting money on these animals so they could just to get killed or get infected. Animals weren't meant to be conducted into experiments, animals were created to live a life in a good way not in a bad way like these scientist are provoking. Animals that were born in laboratories , they don't experience the same way animals in the wild would or even animals that are pets/ The reason why they don't have these same experience is because they are treated in bad conditions such as small amount of space, treatment, living conditions and many more.Abolishing the use of animals in laboratory would be a great thing to do because not only so they have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Against Animal Testing Countless owners walk their dogs through the park, parents take their kids to buy a new pet, and an elder is enjoying the company of his/her cat, but while animals are in a loving home, another side of evil lurks. Somewhere out there in a research lab a little chimp cries out from a bar steel cage whimpering at the approaching needle, shaking; thanks to the echoes she hears of her brother's cries and asking the constant question "why", "Each year, more than 100 million animals–more than three each second– are bred, injected, infected, cut open, genetically altered, and more, in the name of science" (Humane Society International 1). That same poor animal locked in a cage along with the other terrified animals. Are frightened and do not know...show more content... All this is always justified by pointing out future benefits for people, but most of these tests are ignorant. Because every species have different nutritional needs, bodily functions and reactions to substances. It doesn't make any sense to test on them. That and is just unnecessary pain and torture for these beings. "Without doubt there are many experiments that will fail or lead to no use full therapy– such is the nature of all science" ("Animal Experimentation" 4). The results are inaccurate, there is a little chance of creating a cure that works for both animals and people. For example, when rabbits are tested for makeup products, people are tested anyways after the animal trials. "Vioxx, a drug used to treat arthritis, was found to be safe when tested in monkeys (and five other animal species) but has been estimated to have caused around 320,000 heart attacks and strokes and 140,000 deaths worldwide." (Crueltyfreeinternational.org, "What is animal testing?"). Therefore, as most animals are tested for things that people "need", that medication that is used will eventually get abused. There are cheaper and less cruel methods to test medicine without hurting animals or people, like artificial skin. I understand that scientists are using animals to "find cures" but greater of them will fail and an animal's life goes to waste......as this is the generation of technology. "Animal experimentation–an institutionalized form of exploitation– stands in the way of moral progress" (Haggarty 6). Animals are not needed anymore; they have somewhere better to be at, where they can be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay Against Animal Testing Millions of animals suffer due to effects of testing they must endure. This testing is usually done unethically and causes major harm. It's wrong to harm animals for the sake of testing products for society. Furthermore, animals are living creatures just like humans and should not be treated differently. While testing animals may be cheaper, it is morally wrong and causes many harmful side effects in animals. First, not only is animal testing cruel and distasteful but it is morally wrong. Killing animals for fur products such as coats, earmuffs, beanies, and scarfs is unjustifiable. Researchers have horrifying ways of killing these creatures by snapping their necks, boiling in water, and electrical shocks so they don't damage the fur that they need for the products. It matters because animals don't deserve this treatment and have done absolutely nothing to harm nobody to cause actions like these. In the article,...show more content... Therefore, it is distasteful, and all animals are part of nature, made by God, and were not used to see if my lipstick color is safe to use. To ever harm any animal for the sake of testing any man–made product you should step back and think would I want to do this to myself and if not, why you are doing this to a harmless animal that just wants love and attention? While testing animals may be a humane way for most researchers and scientists it is morally wrong and causes many harmful side effects in many animals. There are more to come in the future unless we make a stand to dissolve these crimes. Consumers should join forces with PETA and eliminate all products being tested on animals and make an appeal to a law with such strict force demanding all humans and animals are equal. Using a bunny logo on products gives the consumer a choice of what they buy and doing this eliminates animal testing for any future Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Argumentative Essay On Animal Testing Animal Testing Animals all over the world are being mistreated and abused, what have we done to help them? Over many years animal testing has developed life saving techniques. Though it has taken the lives of over 2.6 million animals lives just in the us alone. Animal testing is a growing issue throughout the entire world, not only is it affecting the lives of the animals, but the people who use the products too. It may not physically be hurting them, but more so emotionally. The moral issue is that no animal has a voice and we need to speak up for them. Animals cannot speak up for their rights so the only way to stop the testing is for us humans too step up and carry their voice. The Humane Society has already begun the descend into the...show more content... Animals are a thing of the past to be tested on. New ground breaking programs have shown us that technology is an amazing creation that is allowing us to grow human skin and conduct tests on it. This will also avow us to stop experimenting products on animals, conveying a more authentic conclusion. Kara Rogers acknowledges the use of other variables of testing in her article, "Scientific Alternatives to Animal Testing: Progress Report" that, "Artificial human skin, such as the commercially available products EpiDerm and ThinCert... More useful results than testing chemicals on animal skin" (Rogers). Animals can not be replicated o test on to get accurate results. So this indicates the push for using something more similar to human skin which can bring a better outcome to lab results. Animal testing is a growing issue throughout the entire world and the main issue is animals do not have a voice to speak their rights. We currently do have the technology to test products on them without harming anyone or anything. The Humane Society points out that animals are, " Force feeding, forced inhalation" they have their necks broken and more, the list is endless. Their rights need to be protected and our voice is theirs. "only certain animals are protected by the AWA (Animal welfare Act)" meaning some animals lives are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay Against Animal Testing Each year, 100 million animals die from testing in laboratories, biology lessons, and experimentation in the United States alone. Animal testing started in first century Greece where a doctor named Galen studied animals. Subsequently, a scientist 400 years ago named William Harvey used animals to understand the human body. However, modern dayanimal testing did not start until 150 years ago when physiology became a popular science. Animal testing is inhumane, cruel, and grotesque. It is a major problem and controversial issue in the United States. Foremost, it should be put to an end because it is wrong, has multiple better alternatives, and it should not be considered a valid testing method. Animal experimentation is nefarious and should be considered...show more content... Proponents of animal testing say that animals do not have rights, so it is acceptable to experiment on them. However, studies have shown that animals can suffer similar humans, so it is speciesism to experiment on them while we hesitate to experiment on humans. To expand, "Discriminating against animals because they do not have... language or moral judgment that humans do is no more justifiable than discriminating against human beings with severe mental impairments". This metaphor justifies that it is unfair to attack their species without restraint, but refrain from doing the same to ours. If animals can still feel pain and endure suffering, then why should humans inflict this upon another living species? To go further, humans are as much of an animal than any other creature on this Earth is. Scientists and researchers categorise virtually everything on this planet as either a plant or an animal, and as humans are not plants, we are animals. So why should one species of animal be able to inflict pain on another? This is, again, speciesism against another capable living Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Against Animal Testing Animals have been used for centuries to test new medicine, scientific experiments, and beauty products. Animal testing has been on the rise since it began in the year 384 before Christ (B.C.). At least 115 million animals may be used in experiments worldwide each year (Facts and Figures on Animal Testing). More and more animals are being used in experiments each year.Animal testing must be stopped. Animals are not the same as humans, animal testing is animal cruelty, most drugs pass animal testing but fail in clinical trials, and animal testing is wasteful. Animal testing has been around for thousands of years. As early as 384 B.C., Greek physician–scientists, like Aristotle and Erasistratus, have been performing experiments on live animals....show more content... Another drug called vioxx (used to treat arthritis) was safe in monkeys (along with five other animal species) but caused around 320,000 heart attacks and strokes, and it had caused a total of 140,000 deaths worldwide (Arguments Against Animal Testing). However, there were some non –deadly cases. " Human volunteers testing a new monoclonal antibody treatment (TGN1412) at Northwick Hospital, United Kingdom in 2006 suffered a severe allergic reaction and nearly died. Testing on monkeys at 500 times the dose given to the volunteers totally failed to predict the dangerous side effects" (Arguments Against Animal Testing). • 13. Persuasive Essay Against Animal Testing Testing on animals has been a common thing since ancient times of Aristotle or even before that. Testing in the 19th century was the peak of animal testing and it became more of an issue to the animal rights enthusiast. Testing on animals for cosmetics has been done for a long time in order to protect people from receiving an allergic reaction that can be permanently damaging. All though people might think it's a good idea to test on animals. Animals don't react the same way we do, our body anatomy is not similar so why put our trust into something that's so outdated. Testing puts animals through very uncomfortable situations like going blind because some sort of eye drops were inserted in their eyes or getting a skin burn because some hand cream was defective. Now instead of putting animals though that torture there a various options to alternative testing. For example the researchers in Johns Hopkins university test various products cosmetics or not in test tubes and has claimed they had success. At the University of Connecticut they have been trying to use mathematical equations. These methods aren't the solution entirely but it's a good step in the right direction. One they aren't testing on animals, two they aren't testing on humans, three they aren't testing on anything that can be harmed in any way. It might take years to or months or even days till we figure out a permanent solution but until then we have to make sure the animals don't Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Essay Against Animal Testing Animal Experimentation Do not improve human health 92 percent of drugs have been tested on animals do not make it through phase 1 of human clinical trials (Noel Merino). Diseases that are artificially included in animals in a laboratory are never identical to those that occur naturally in human beings. Animal testing has been around since 1922 every year more than 100 million animals are tested on. Animal experimentation, also known as animal testing, is the process of using animals to test the safety of products such as cosmetics and medication and to understand the working of a human body (Gale). 43 percent of adults surveyed opposed the use of animal in scientific reasons (Merino). I think that animal testing should be banned because the testing does not improve human health, animals do not have rights, and the testing is failing. Animal testing does not improve human health. More than 95 percent of the animals used in laboratories are not subject to minimal protections by federal laws. Because they are not protected by the law. • 15. Arguments Against Animal Testing Essay Animal Testing There is much debate over whether animal testing should be allowed or not. Some people think that it is not essential to sacrifice animals for human benefits because they are being abused and tortured severely during experiments. Some others who stand against animal testing claim that humans eliminate many lives on earth in order to safe humans' lives, so there is no justice because even animals have the right to live on earth, yet these people do not consider the truth that animals are being used in the food industry or in the laboratories. Thus, if someone asks how many animals are being used in the laboratory experiments around the world every year, who can give an accurate answer? It can be one, ten, or fifty million. It is difficult to find the exact figure on this question because people only read news through mass media such as having a new vaccine which can help human avoid uterus cancer or a new medicine help humans cure strokes, but they also need to know how many lives of the animals would have to take in order to get theses vaccines. Therefore, some organizes think that animal testing is one of the most disturbing experiments ever, and it should be banned. Despite many controversies with opposing opinions, a compromise can be made in order to reduce the use of animals in the laboratory experiments. In the problem, there are always opposite sides which can create the debate about using animals in the laboratory experiments. Some people want to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Animal Testing Against Animals "Many medical treatments have been made possible by animal testing, including cancer and HIV drugs, insulin, antibiotics, vaccines and many more" (Murnaghan 1). Today, animal testing is legal, however, it has restrictions. The AWA(Animal Welfare Act) is the only restriction put in place today with animal testing. This act, put in action in 1966, protects some warm–blooded animals such as dogs, cats, and primates. It protects these animals in ensuring their well–being is held. It especially states that the psychological well–being of primates should be upheld. However, this act does not protect small rodents, such as mice or rats, and cold–blooded animals. Farm animals used for agriculture use aren't protected in this act as well. Fill in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Arguments Against Animal Research Animal research has been used for several centuries as part of experiments conducted to assure the safe use of medicine, food, cosmetics, and among other products. It is an important issue because it concerns millions of life animals that are constantly in danger for unethical practices. Animal testing has brought many debates worldwide among countries that are against this practice. I believe that the use of animals for such purposes is cruel and unnecessary. It has been argued that animal testing contributes to life–saving cures and treatments, such as the discovery of insulin, essential for the patients that struggle with diabetes; the polio vaccine, and so on. These researches, and so this argument goes, have also contributed to advances Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Persuasive Speech Against Animal Testing Essay Topic: Animal Testing Purpose: To persuade my audience that animal testing is wrong and unethical Relevance: animals are people too and no one wants an animal to suffer for the wrong reasons Intro Imagene being taken to a place where you are locked up, with barely any room for movement, in a small cage. You are taken every once in a while to get your hair shaved off, and things rubbed into your skin that could potentially make your hair never grow back, or it burns you and makes your skin bleed. Or maybe you get a substance put into your eyes and are kept with that substance in your eyes for two weeks and you go blind. These are a few things that happen to animals that are used for research and although animal research...show more content... Correspondence between UW experimenters and their collaborators acknowledge that there was a problem with Double Trouble's surgery; the experiment was a failure." Animals and humans might share much of their DNA, but we are all built differently and we all funtion differently. There are many problems with the animal to human researching that occurs and makes animal testing ineffective. B. Here are some reasons that animal testing does not work i. According to Dr. T Page, Less than 2% of human illnesses (1.16%) are ever seen in animals. Over 98% never affect animals. ii. According to the former scientific executive of Huntingdon Life Sciences, animal tests and human results agree "5%–25% of the time." iii. In the New york times, it was posted stated that the two most common illnesses in the Western world are lung cancer from smoking and heart disease. Neither can be reproduced in lab animals.

The anatomic, metabolic, and cellular differences between animals and people make animals poor models for human beings (NEAVS, 2013). Thomas Hartung, Professor of evidence–based toxicology at Johns Hopkins University, argues for alternatives to animal testing because "we are not 70 kg rats " (PERKE,2013). Against Animal Testing Research Paper According to a result of pressures from animal support groups such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), a number of large corporations have ceased all animals testing in recent years. These corporations include Amway, Benetton, Revlon, General Motors, and L'Oreal were recently added to the list, which used to subject animals to shocking tests. In Against Animal Testing, a booklet published by The Body Shop, a well–known cosmetics and bath company, that uses natural ingredients, like bananas, almonds, aloe Vera, chamomile, and Basil nut oil, as well as others safe for human usage is encouraged instead of testing on animals. Just imagine if it was you who is locked in that cage waiting to be tortured and killed, imagine the agony, the suffer, the pain. Animals feel the same way you would feel or even worst because they are innocent and they cannot speak for themselves. Animals are not things to be used for experiments. Animals should be free in their natural habitat. If it's inhumane for humans, then why do we allow it on animals? There is no difference between a child and a dog, a man and a rat. We all feel love, we all feel pain and we all deserve freedom. We must do something about it, we must cooperate somehow to end the millions of torturing of animals in laboratories "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the wellbeing of a person or animal is at stake" (Martin Luther King Jr.) The well being of humans cannot justify the torturing, exploiting of thousands of animals per year to perform laboratory experiments or to test products. Animals must be treated with respect, love and compassion and the practices in laboratories do not uphold the right of these animals all for the cost of vanity and the cost of selfish human gain. We must do stand up and speak for them. We are their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
