Essay on All the Presidents Men
All the President s Men is a book by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward. The book discussed what
happened to President Nixon in the Watergate Scandal from Bernstein and Woodward s point of
view. The Watergate Scandal was a significant part of presidential history. This even would result in
Nixon s resignation and what would have been his guaranteed impeachment. The Watergate Scandal
took an impact on politics as a whole. Politicians are known as liars and people who keep secrets
from the public. The Watergate Scandal is something Nixon can never make up for, but will always
beremembered for.
Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward were the investigative reporters to the Watergate scandal.
Bernstein was a reporter at the Washington Post; he had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nixon had seven men who had helped him the whole time. These men are known as the Watergate
Seven . The Watergate Seven involved John Mitchell, H.R. Haldeman, Kenneth Parkinson, Charles
Colson, Gordon Strachan, John Ehrlichman, and Robert Mardian. The Watergate Seven did many
different things in the Watergate Scandal. They broke into the Watergate hotel, wiretapped
phones and attempted burglaries. The Watergate Scandal was truly the biggest political scandal
in United States History. Over forty people where charged with crimes relating to the scandal.
Bernstein and Woodward were given a fantastic oppourtunity to uncover something truly
significant in history. The twenty one months of investigative reporting done by these two men
would ruin Nixon s name and make these two common everyday reporters lives change forever.
Woodward first got his life changing call on June 17th 1972 with his editor telling him about a
small invasion of the Democratic Party Headquarters. With being related to the scandal, two
members of President Nixon s cabinet, H.R. Hadlemen and John Ehrlichman, quickly resigned.
When first thought of the president even having something to do with the Watergate Scandal, he
made every effort to possibly hide this career ruining event. The break in was first found by a
security guard by the name of, Frank Wills. Wills saw a piece of tape covering a broken lock. Wills

The Game Of Soccer Essay
Description Soccer is a sport played with two teams of eleven players on a rectangular grass
field with a ball and typically lasts 90 minutes. The players wear shorts, a short sleeved jersey,
shin guards, long socks, and cleats. Of the eleven players, one is a goalkeeper and the remaining
players are either playing defense, midfield, or forward. The goalkeeper s objective is to stop the
ball from going into his or her team s goal. The other players, using only their feet, must dribble
and pass the ball in order to move it up the field and attempt to place the ball in the opposing
team s goal. In the middle of both short ends of the field, there is a goal, one belonging to each
team.(Swanson) The objective of each team is to place the ball in the goal of the opposing team
to get a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. History There is
evidence tracing soccer back to 2000 BC. At this time, the game was played by the Romans,
Greeks, and Chinese. A leather ball was being dribbled and kicked in a small net or passed
between two people. (History) The game of soccer arrived in England during the medieval times.
During this time, the objective of the game was to move the ball to a specific spot. Violent
strategies such as punching, kicking, and biting were used to slow down the opposing team.
Violent incidents during a soccer match were common. King Edward III of England and King
James I of Scotland banned soccer in 1365 and 1424 respectively due

How My Personality Developed
According to Larsen and Buss (2005, p. 4), personality is defined as a set of psychological traits and
mechanisms within an individual that are organized and relatively enduring which that influence
the individual s interactions with, and adaptations to, the intrapsychic, physical, and social
environments . Then, the enhancement from the dynamic organization that leads to distinctive is
called personality development. Blanchard Fields and Cavanaugh (2011, p. 14) stated that
personality development is progressed by the continuous interaction of the biological,
psychological, sociocultural, and life cycle forces of development such as the environment,
character and temperament . Not only that, the correct way in going thru or settling down... Show

uses of anticancer drugs and radiation will give side effects to the patients but it was just
temporary. Somehow, I still couldn t accept the fact that I had to go thru all these. My mum and
sister did not have tumor in their breasts so I was supposed not being affected as well. Life is
unfair! In fact, what hurt me the most was that my boyfriend started to ignore me after I told
him. He turned off his phone so that I could not reach him and he did not even visit me and so as
my classmates. At first, I thought that they were just busy on their own stuffs and they would
come to visit me once they are free but they all were like suddenly disappeared from my life, I
met none of them. I felt so lonely and empty. I thought I was the famous one but the truth was
that no one even cared about me. All the efforts and memories that I put in my school were
wasted. Suddenly, I had the thought of giving up. Maybe I should just end my life. There was
nothing left of me. I refused to take medicine and looked for reasons to skip treatments. Not only
that, I chased my mum out of my sight whenever she came to visit me. I scolded her and shouted
at her. I always curled myself on bed and dreaming, feeling hopeless and broken. I hated myself.
One evening, a nurse sat beside me and she smiled to me. I knew her because I almost saw her

Personal Narrative-Parody
Clumsy It was just before the sun set and you could smell the stench of each individual in line.
Some smelled like year old gym sweet and others smelled more like the sickly sweet aroma of
the bakery where they had no doubt spent their day. I sat down upon the small brick wall that I
had been leaning upon for what felt like an eternity. Of course i did this with the help of my
broad shouldered father who was almost as tried as I, a small blond four year old. After frolicing
around Disney World all day, meeting my idols had left me physically and mentally exhausted.
Better yet we were engulfed in this wretched humidity that could only be produced by a summer
day in Florida. I wished for sleep, to escape the hoards of people, the extensive lines, and the most
annoying of all, the screaming children being micromanaged by their unintelligent guardians. Still

The Generation Of The New Generation
The unknown future may be frightening, but knowing the Millennials are the next generation of
leaders to change the world should be comforting. Millennials make up the population of society
that was born between 1980 and 2000 and in America there are more millennials right now than
baby boomers more than 80 million (Simmons Duffit). Just like every new generation, the
Millennials have been endlessly criticized by older generations. They have been called lazy,
entitled, self absorbed, social media crazed, technology addicts, privileged, and so much more.
This generation change has drawn more public attention than ever before, maybe because of the
access to widespread information nowadays or maybe because this time, it s a bigger deal.
Millennials aren t afraid to address this topic because they believe that they can change the world
for the better. They want the judgements in communities and the criticisms in the workplace to
stop. They want society to realize they are not so different from generations before, they are
already transforming life as we know it, and that they will soon be the next generation of leaders
and nothing can change that. Although Millennials can be perceived in multiple negative aspects,
older generations should be open to the unique potential that this massive generation has to offer as
an opportunity to close the gap of separation and learn to grow from each other. One of the most
common criticism of Millennials is their tendency to be lazy.

Substance Abuse Psychology
The Psychology of Substance Related Disorders Substance use has always been prevalent in
society ever since recorded history in one way or another someone somewhere indulged. Scripture
the wine flow like water Greeks and Romans drank as well, Chinese opium dens, and the
American Indians even passed the peace pipe in sweat lodge rituals. Along with substance use
another thing that hasn t changed are the different views and opinions surrounding these things?
The United States wages war on drugs spending billions a year meanwhile manufacturing tobacco
and alcohol as if they aren t harmful or addictive. Portugal on the other hand legalized all use and
possession of all substances giving the power of free will and lowering the population of their...

It begins with euphoria. The smokers stress relief and light head, the stimulant user who gets the
rush from their drug, heart pounding feeling like they can do anything. With each use the user is
chasing that first feeling of euphoria building a tolerance, meaning that when the substance of
choice is used it takes a little more and a little more to reach the desired feeling. With almost
every substance no high or euphoria is ever as intense as the first one. Drug Addicts who keep
using call it chasing the Dragon looking for that same feeling as the first high. As tolerance
builds withdrawal symptoms begin to appear withdrawals vary with different types of
substances. An alcoholic tends to get the shakes in vomits excessively. The cocaine addict
suffers severe depression sometimes bordering suicidal. The body becomes used to these things
being taken in, and adapts to it. When these substances are not used, the body reacts negatively.
Withdrawal symptoms can be deadly especially in alcoholics. A person suffering from substance
use disorder and experiencing withdrawal will do things out of character sometimes lashing out
becoming violent, stealing or lying to use again. Once a person effected by this disorder for
whatever reason decides they have had enough they can begin to recover. Recovery is when the
individual uses one of many methods to become abstinent from one or more substances. Some will
switch from one substance to another thinking it will be different more than not, becoming
dependent again. With recovery comes the risk of relapse. A relapse is extremely common
throughout history in those that have decided to recover for whatever reason the person decides to
use again and repeat the cycle, or stops themselves before things get out of hand. (Stages of

Vaccines Are The Tugboats Of Preventative Health
As stated by Dr. James A. Shannon of the National Institutes of Health, The only safe vaccine is a
vaccine that is never used (Shannon). In order to stay safe, vaccinations for children should not be a
requirement because it diminishes the values and beliefs of various religions, is used for profit
only, and the risks associated with vaccinations are life threatening. However, these reasons do not
outweigh the benefits of being vaccinated. As stated by William Foege, Vaccines are the tugboats of
preventative health . In regards to preventative health, vaccinations should be given to children to
prevent them from diseases that could potentially inhibit their future and the generations
beyond.Vaccinations do more good than harm, prevent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After surveying pediatricians throughout the United States, 70% of parents are using their pro
choice option and not vaccinating their children. The same survey provided information stating
that 4% of pediatricians do not vaccinate their own children. These pro choice beliefs are often
biased upon political beliefs as well. Such theories can be seen in conservatives. Conservatives are
pro choice and are wary of the information provided to the public (Rabinowitz). Taken into
consideration, political beliefs are a combination of religion, morals, and other political influences.
Stereotypes have not been associated with pro choice political parties. This lack of stereotyping has
allowed pro choice views to become more of a norm. Therefore, the pressure to vaccinate the child
is not evaluated as a lack in human judgement, but rather a difference in opinion and beliefs that
allow parents to not vaccinate their child. The second debateable topic is that vaccinations are just
for profit, not for safety. This refusal is linked to the beliefs that vaccines are not safe, vaccines have
ultimately killed children, the government protect the pharmaceutical companies, and that
pharmaceutical companies are just personally profiting from vaccinations (Gullion). Such profits
can be seen when looking at the ACIP. The ACIP recommends which vaccinations the states should
mandate. In return, the board members of this organization receive profit. Therefore,

Nursing Safe Profession
Is Nursing a Safe Profession? Nurses are more prone to acquire disease, because of coming in
direct contact with the patients. They are exposed to various kinds of disease from their
patients. The disease could be Blood Borne, Air Borne or from Contact. According to National
Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 44% of nurses are exposed to Blood and other
bodily secretions from the patients. There are chances of nurses getting these diseases by coming
in contact with blood or bodily secretions except sweat of the patients for example an accidental
needle stick or if the nurse has open skin and the infected blood or bodily secretion from the
patient comes in direct contact with that open skin or it comes in direct contact with the nurses
eyes. Another kind of disease exposure are Air Borne disease like T.B. (Tuberculosis), influenza,

contact. Direct contact means by touching the patient directly, and indirect contact means by
coming in contact with the furniture in the patients room. However precautions are taken by the
administration to prevent the spread and exposure of these pathogens. Sometimes it s too late to
put them in place. Like a patient is admitted into the hospital in an emergency and primary care is
being started, and once the patient s condition stabilizes other tests for the above mentioned
suspected diseases are carried out, and the test turns out positive. By this time the nurses are already

Robotic Male Crabs
Many animals exhibit unique mating patterns and over time have evolved species specific traits to
grab the attention of potential mates. Sexual Selection allows for individuals who possess certain
qualities to produce more offspring than others, resulting in the evolution by means of natural
selection of that trait and the diminishing of the traits of the weaker individuals. This allows for
greater fitness of an individual which will in turn benefit the species as a whole. MaleFiddle crabs
possess one large claw, which has been observed to be used as a weapon and as a signal of
courtship (Callander et al. 2013). In their study, Callander and her team used a robotic male crab

2013). The second experiment on the other hand did show a female preference to the alternative
stimulus waving at a faster rate than the control (Callander et al. 2013). The experimenters in
this study found no evidence that female fiddler crabs mate choice is effected by the shape of
the male s claw alone (Callander et al. 2013). This experiment did however show evidence that
females prefer a mate with a faster courting wave rate, choosing the alternative, faster waving
stimulus, over the control, U. mjoebergi claw, in almost every trial (Callander et al. 2013). The
results this experiment suggest that claw shape in male fiddle crabs has not evolved due to
sexual selection (Callander et al. 2013). Male fiddle crabs do use their claw for male male combat
so it is plausible that claw shape is the outcome of evolution under selection in being the dominant
male (Callander et al.

One of the most important tool in Lean mfd. is the PDCA (Plan Do Check Act Cycle).
This is often termed as the Deming Cycle or the Deming Wheel after its founder,

Deming was one of the creators of the quality management approach that is followed by many
present industries.
He also introduced the manufacturing world to statistical process control techniques which was
very effectively used by the Japanese at that time, who used them with great success.
According to him if the production processes are defined clearly, the quality of the finished product

Depending on the success of the solution and the number of areas for improvement found, one may

Once a satisfied solution is found that will outweigh the cost of benefits achieved by repeating the

more feeling out of the audience. Why is that? Gallimard is French and not Chinese. Those
kinds of words aren t stereotypical of a French man, which is normally not known as the

the East sees the West as and what they realized they re thought of. Song compares himself to a

Becoming A Pediatric Oncology Nurse
Ever since I was a child, I have been encouraged to plan ahead. Every aspect of my childhood was
filled with planning, such as when I went to bed or what I would wear the next day. This is mostly
due to the effect of my parents getting divorced. I had to start planning my life out based on the
circumstance of switching between houses. As a child, I learned the substantial value that planning
has on my life. As I got older I started to come to the realization that plans often do not go exactly
as contrived. Sometimes, the plans I have made will alter in some way, or drop all together,
resulting in an enormous amount of stress. This was the case when I decided to change my
choice in career my senior year of high school. Most of my life I had been working toward the
goal of being a dance teacher, but while watching a medical drama about kids with cancer, I soon
realized my desire to be a pediatric oncology nurse was stronger than my love for dance. With that
decision, all of my plans had entirely changed.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

After the publication of Phantom, the aspects of colonial / postcolonial, ethnic / Eurocentric
discourses, which were almost forgotten, began to pop up as in those belts of Australia where there
were aboriginal settlements for whom Phantom became an icon and thus they loved to read these
comics and idolise their hero. But the truth is that the brutalities of European settlement in Australia
is kept under the pretext of Terra Nullius2 and a peaceful process which finds its apt expression
through the Phantom comics where the white man s arrival and settlement on a non European
space and building an empire is related in a way of cross cultural interaction, intimacy and
hospitality.
In colonial and post colonial British literature the phantom or ghost is a recurrent figure that
symbolises the repressed trauma attendant to colonisation that haunts protagonists in novels such as
Defoe s Robinson Crusoe and Brontes juvenilia. The famous comic strip The Phantom by Lee Falk
naturalised this figure, making him into a normal man who fabricated a belief in his immortality.
Referred to as The Ghost Who Walks, his headquarters was in a cave, which also contained his
vast treasure. The Phantom ruled the natives of Africa and India, who superstitiously believed that
he was a white god who had lived for centuries. In 1525, the first Phantom swore an oath to fight

Various Learning Styles For Students At University
This essay will be an analysis of various learning styles available to students at university. According
to Javis, (2012) knowledge, education and learning techniques run alongside each other. However,
as students studying in higher institutions, it is important to understand various learning methods
available within the academic premises. Anecdotal observations amongst students has revealed that
individual students possess wide spectrum of academic knowledge and ability, as a result, these
students are also bound to learn differently either within themselves or from various styles learnt in
their higher institutions. Therefore, reviewing different learningstyles is paramount in initiating
student s thought process in making changes to their learning programmes by taking advantage of
available resources to become more efficient and proactive learners. Finally, this analysis will
initiate deeper understanding in various learning styleswhich will be used to stimulate one s own
personal learning preference and serve as bedrock to which individual s academic or future career
is built upon.
Loo, (2002) described a learning style as a coherent technique that a learner reacts to or rather
relates with stimuli within learning circumstances. Learning strategies such as time management
and self assessment skills serves as an integral fragment of learning process within the academic
environment (Javis, 2012).According to Honey and Mumford, (1986) personalised individual

The Explorer Poem Analysis
The Explorer was written during the civil rights movement when Brooks started to focus on writing
for the black community. Through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice her community experiences every
day, she is inspired to write this particular piece to show that African Americans, although are
scared, will keep fighting and searching for their utopia. Starting from stanza one, the word frayed
stands out the most. Repeated twice, it immediately tells the reader that the situation is not that of
hope and is life changing to the main character. Still spot also references that the main character is
looking for a quiet setting. The theme of quiet and peace is renounced in stanza two as words
such as velvet peace and willy hush also go along with the peace and quiet theme. Now, the reader
gains a better sense of the financial condition of the main character. Tatters makes the reader think

Taking A Look At The Film The Mission
The Mission is a film based on the colonization of South America through missionaries. The Mission
demonstrates how many influential philosophers ideas live on and hold a long lasting legacy. The
film clearly showed traits from Martin Luther, Jean Jacques Rousseau, and Niccolo Machiavelli.
These three philosophers are among the most prominent in history, and their thoughts and ideas are
seen in great amount. The Missionpredominantly showcased Machiavellian traits including, but not
limited to: [...]the ends justifies the means[...] , the general welfare, and the absolute power of the
state (Machiavelli, The Prince). Despite some of the few appearances of the other philosopher s
ideas, The Mission fundamentally executed Niccolo Machiavelli s... Show more content on

As the head of the church in the colonies, he is forced to make decisions with other components
in mind other than his beliefs (The Mission 49 50). One of Niccolo Machiavelli s most defining
traits, is putting the general welfare before that of the minority. In order to keep peace throughout
his expansive territory, the Cardinal makes the final decision to: stop funding the missions, this in
turn, left many Guarani people without and doubting their faith (The Mission 82 83). The Cardinal
had to think of the general welfare rather than simply the missions. By making this decision, the
Cardinal carried out the peace and political relationships with both Portugal and Spain. The
Cardinal s reputation goes unscathed, and the territory he is responsible for is protected (The
Mission 113 114). Because of the actions seen by the Cardinal, it is clear that he cares about the
general welfare more than the minority. In essence, the Cardinal showed Machiavelli s ideas

Humor In Casey At The Bat
I think the author uses humor in the poem to make it seem more interesting and more amusing, so
the reader would finish reading it. I also think the author used humor to describe Casey s
experince at his game and how he let his fans down, and lost the game. An example of humor in
Casey at the Bat is in stanza two, when the author says We d put up even money now, with Casey at
the bat. I see it as humor because everyone in the stands thought that Casey would hit the ball no
matter what. I also find it funny because everyone in the stands got so happy and excited. Another
example of humor in the poem is in stanza 6 when Casey doffed his hat. I think that s funny because
he was so confident and thought that nothing could stop him, and that

Treatment Of Pressure Ulcers For Spinal Cord Injury Patients
Pressure ulcers are a secondary health condition of spinal cord injury patients. The prevalence of
pressure ulcers for spinal cord injury patients can reach up to 95% and for many it can be a
recurrent problem. The article that I have chosen to review sets out to compare ultraviolet C versus
a placebo ultraviolet C and how each effect the wound healingprocess for a spinal cord injury
patient. The main outcome measures were the percent area of the wound compared to baseline area
of the wound. As the wound decreased in size it is theoretically assumed that the wound is healing.
The central concepts of the study were based on ultraviolet C positive effects on wound healing in
vitro. In vitro studies effects include; modification of growth factors, fibronectin release from
fibroblast, epidermal cell proliferation, killing of pathogens, accelerated DNA synthesis, and
antibiotic resistant organisms. This study hypothesized that ultraviolet C would contribute as a
statistically significant effective intervention for the treatment of pressure ulcers in spinal cord
injury patients. A previous study in the 1990s showed ultraviolet C to be effective in pressure
ulcers for spinal cord injury patients versus a nursing care control group. This previous study failed
to show a statistical significanceand failed to account for drop outs within the control group. Once
inclusion, exclusion, and desire to participate was met 43 individuals with who had a total of 58

J. C. Peny Store Case Study Statement
Introduction The focus of this study will be centered on one of the biggest names in American
retail. The department store chain of interest for this case study was established in 1902 by a high

of this study will be for us to address distinct elements of this company s pricing strategy. That, the
new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) introduced as a tactic for surpassing the competitors of this
particular retail giant. At the same time, this is basically about arranging the company in the best
possible position for responding to the needs of likely consumers, as well as, distinguishing this

Abortions should be illegal in the United States. Abortions have been occurring since the 1800`s.
They were banned in the 1880 s except to save the life of the women. However, the Supreme Court
ruled in 1973, in the case Roe vs Wade that abortion is legal in the first trimester. I disagree with
this ruling because it is morally wrong. Secondly, every human being must be responsible for their
actions. Lastly, there are many options available to prevent becoming a parent. We have to right to
decide when we want to become a parent, but not if it involves terminating another human life.
Human life begins at conception and so abortion is murder. God created every human being in his

Vegetarian Vs Omnivore
Whether it be because of religion, culture, or personal choice, millions of people worldwide do
not eat meat, and the majority of the population, the omnivores, often ridicule these people, the
vegetarians, for their choices. This has sadly created a divide between thousands of people,
however the cause of this separation is simple. One side, whether it be the omnivores or the
vegetarians, feels the need to impose its choices onto the other side. Both sides are at fault here,
as the omnivores tell the vegetarians that they cannot get proper nutrients from a plant based diet,
and the vegetarians try to tell the omnivores that they are torturing animals by killing them for
food. The omnivores are wrong because, while it does require careful planning, vegetarians can
easily get the nutrients they need, and the vegetarians are hypocritical because, as the article will
show, farming kills thousands of creatures. The author of Even Small Scale Vegetable Farming
Requires Hunting Animals, Tovar Cerulli, is a vegan writer and speaker. He begins the article by

patients first , developed by the Clinic s CEO, Dr Cosgrove. The overall strategy for improving
value for patients was on by putting patients first and giving them the best that they could offer.
They aimed their strategy at not only patients, but to providers as well to ensure that they would
improve the value of service or experience that they would provide to patients. This was done in
6 components that will be described below. 1.Service Pre service Cleveland Clinic moved into
reorganizing all services into multi disciplinary teams based on the patients perspective and
disease systems called Institutes. It moved into Clinical Institutes and special expertise institutes
This allowed clarity to patients and they knew where to go to get the care that they needed. On
top of this, there was also Support Institutes created that would provide support to the Clinical
Institutes. Cleveland Clinic not only provided pre service to patients, but provided pre service
to attract providers into their network. They provided training for providers and offered them a
good electronic medical record system. The clinic opened a medical school which was a year
longer than other schools as it offered special training in both clinical care and research. The
tuition cost of the students from July 2008 were covered and each medical student was offered a

Technical education, also more commonly known as vocational education, has been around for
a long period of time, first starting to appear federally funded in high school classrooms in mid
1917. Picture a high school student that is struggling in their classes and sees no other option
but to drop out of school and work at a fast food restaurant. Then they walk into their first day of
Agriculture (A.G.) where they will be learning about welding and the fine arts of fabrication.

Houle always had an attraction for teaching welding because he had a close relationship with his
high school welding teacher. However, in order for Houle to teach, he needed to receive his

academics, Houle was far behind because the highest level of math he had taken was Algebra 1.
The goal was to get people to work (Houle) Vocational educationwas not intended to prepare
students for college. More than 117 years ago, an assortment of groups of people started
advocating for the use of new vocational education programs in schools. A majority of supporters
for vocational education consisted of businessmen and labor unions, who saw it as an answer to
problems of skilled labor shortages and a way to help heal unemployment in a swiftly
industrializing society. There are also two sides to the story. While employers were anticipating the
weakening of labor unions, the workers saw it as opportunity for not only individual advancement,
but also a means of dignifying labor. Many people regarded vocational training as an opportunity to
teach and learn the value of work because they believed the value was being washed out of modern
society. Actually, educators and teachers were excited about vocational education because they
could practice new teaching methods that emphasized children s interests

The Value Of A Liberal Arts Education
Aspects of recent debates about the value of a liberal arts education, its usefulness and its
appropriateness strike a familiar and disturbing historical chord. Recently in English class, my

intellectual capacities (as reason and judgment) as opposed to professional or vocational skills

how they feel, not what they think will be accepted by others. When deciding whether or not to

because your friends don t want an education. By not participating in college, we can easily get

The Benefits Of Learning Computers And Computer Science
One way in which computers and computer science has become so widespread is due to it being
easy to learn and integrate into schools. The basics of computer science can be learned fairly
quickly as the majority of computer programming is simple logic. It is so easy to learn that in
Tennessee schools have begun teaching student the basics of computerprogramming as early as the
third grade. This just goes to show how learning computer programmingcan be just as easily taught
as basic maths and sciences. Computer programming does not need to be limited to its own subject.
In Tennessee computer programming has been integrated into both its science and maths classes.
Through a simulation software called ViMap, third and fourth grade teachers were able to teach a
class on how butterflies adjust their behavior depending on their recent food consumption. This
shows that adults as well as children are able to learn and use computer programming skills in
order to benefit their lives.
The benefits of learning computer programming are not limited to using computer programming
itself. Another reason learning computer programming can be beneficial is the way computer
programming forces someone to think. Jeannette M. Wing, a consulting professor of computer
science at Carnegie Mellon University and a corporate vice president of Microsoft Research
believes that computational thinking is a fundamental skill every person should have.

What Is The Impact Of Public Spending
In economic theory, Keynes proposed that an increase in public spending could keep economic
activity at an acceptable level. The resultant increase in Equilibrium GDP of government
expenditure has a resultant stimulus in economy and aggregate expenditure. (Jackson McIver, 2001)
A standard approach to evaluating the magnitude of construction of major infrastructure is to
identify direct spending by contractors; indirect spending to suppliers e.g. accommodation and
food; and then induced spending.
Blanquart Koning (2017, p12) explain this multiplier thus:
The impact of these various expenditures is a function of the propensity to consume wealth locally.

(BTE, 1996) This study indicated that similar expected economic benefits would flow to East Coast
Rail Corridor with a reduction in freight rail improving congestion in this network.
Conceptually, it is expected that spending on improved infrastructure will provide a further benefit
to an area through improved performance. However, this has been disputed by some industry
groups such as GrainCorp in relation to the Inland Rail project. (Heard, 2017) This is consistent
with studies of the High Speed Rail system in Europe which provide a more causal link with city
size, industry structures, resources and proximity to urban areas as more influential in the longer
term than tourism and business relocation. (Blanquart Koning, 2017) Analysis of Canadian utilities
infrastructure found that it was far more important for regulators to be concerned with economic
efficiencies than with the scope of consultations. Restricting a regulator s scope to seeking
efficiencies improved results for the public interest through increased productivity and enhancing
the standard of living by improving real worth of income (Church, 2017). Similarly, studies of the
legislation surrounding the Californian High Speed Rail project found that it that private investors
were reluctant to participate as the limitation of subsidies meant that private bodies were reluctant
to commit without improved economic outlooks (HenrГquez Deakin, 2017). There is an intrinsic
endogeneity issue in

Examples Of Fatalism In The Breakfast Club
Is It Really Fate? There are 19 major world religions which are subdivided into a total of 270
large religious groups, and many smaller ones. 34,000 separate Christian groups have been
identified in the world according to David Barrett. Religion is just faith or a belief system that
people have. A belief system that dates back to early times is, Fatalism. Still seen today in
popular movies, books, T.V. shows and other works of art, fatalism is the belief that, all things
and events are inevitable. Movies like: The Breakfast Club, Dirty Dancing, and Serendipity all
show examples of how fatalism is still real. In the movie, The Breakfast Club, which is based on
five different high school students, all meeting each other in detention. It is significant that they all
different stereotypes because it later shows how much they are truly alike although they are
different. If in the movie, if the director would have used the same type of students it would not
have had the same effect, how everyone is brought to one place by fate. Even though they student

Daniel Gilbert Reporting Live From Tomorrow Analysis
Happiness in Old Age
In Daniel Gilbert s Reporting Live from Tomorrow , Gilbert makes use of statistics, studies, and
experiments to convey a multitude of ideas, primarily the concept that while many people are
opposed to, or are in disbelief of it, turning to surrogates as means of predicting our own future is
quite effective. Gilbert s concepts and theories are quite important to take into consideration not
only as a general message of how human beings tend to let factors such as their imagination or their
own self image cloud their perspective on the future, but rather as an alternative viewpoint and how
through surrogates, we are able to make more accurate predictions on our own future, such as what

It s a mindset like this that distances us from others because we believe that because our own
thoughts are subjective and different to those around us, making us unique to others regardless
of whether or not there s a similar goal. By looking past this, it allows us to be less hesitant in
looking at others when it comes to predicting our own future, especially in the case of those
around us that may be pursuing similar goals, majors, or careers. In the case of predicting my
own future in particular, I d have to rely mainly of the adults around me in my life, as well as
various older acquaintances that have shared stories of their similar interests and what those
developed into. Ultimately, from this perspective I can assume in my later years I d find much of
my happiness through writing and reading, specifically in topics or areas that are more reflective
of my later interests. What s important to note here is that while numerous adults and figures in
my life do enjoy and share these hobbies and find much of their happiness in them, it s also worth
acknowledging that many of their interests, jobs, and ultimately people who they surround
themselves with is consistent, in my case that s still very much subject to change. This is a very
noteworthy point to raise, being that while there are some aspects that can be predicted such as

An Analysis Of Flannery O Connor
The percentage of people who say they believe in God, pray, frequently go to religious services,
embrace minimal religious practices or find their faith meaningful has declined over the last 50
years. A growing group of Americans do not believe in God or any organized faith. In fact, unbelief
is even fashionable. Religious conviction is perceived as burdensome or an outdated attitude easily
discarded. This is the backdrop upon which 20th century American, Southern Gothicwriter,
Flannery O Connor, wrote her books and short stories in the 1950s and 1960s. She, in her short
stories and books of fiction, did not describe beautiful rooms or people living happily ever after;
she wrote about the human condition in the American South and the state of religious conviction.
She wrote about unbelievers, lukewarm souls, narcissists and the spiritually illiterate. She wrote
about racists, white trash, busy bodies and poor, beaten down black folks. She wrote about the
unraveling of faith where the default mode for her characters was apathy, smugness, desapir or
indifference. She believed the South was haunted by religionbut as a group were literally swimming
in mediocrity, cynicism and emptiness a rough and tumble nihilism. They might say their faith
mattered or attended services, but many were just lying to their neighbors and themselves. To her,
they were just checking the box with a faith bordering on tepid and pathetic. She felt, given their

Methylcyclohexane Synthesis Essay
Discussion: While hydrogen is not normally observed as a functional group, however, one
exception involves free radical substitution through halogenation. This mechanism essentially
function by first initiation step in which the halogenated molecule splits into two halogenated
radicals which is followed by the formation of a hydrocarbon radical. The next step of the radical
mechanism, propagation, involves the hydrocarbon molecule reaction with a halogenated molecule,
thus producing a hydrocarbon halogen (R X) compound, and more halogenation molecule thus
allowing the reaction to continue on to completion. A control mechanism will allow for the
prediction of what product will be obtained from a radical reaction. If random chance of the halogen

This is once again due the reasoning stated earlier, as in terms of hydrogen reactivity: benzene
aromatic ~ aliphatic tertiary secondary primary. This is based on the reasoning in Hammond s
Postulates that the more stable radical will have a smaller rate determining step and the transition
state will resemble the products more so, thus indicating why it can be considered more stable.
The actual order observed was methylcyclohexane ethylbenzene toluene tert butylbenzene ~
cyclohexane. This was not the predicted order as methylcyclohexane should have reacted third
fastest instead of reacting first as observed, however, excluding the error of methylcyclohexane
the rest of the prediction seem to line up with the observed results. Since methylcyclohexane was
the only contributor to the misalignment with the predicted and observed indicates that some sort
of error occurred in the process of carrying out the reaction. The source of error is most likely due
to the possibility that methylcyclohexane had the bromine added to it a few seconds prior to being
set down and timed for a reaction. The reasoning behind this is because methylcyclohexane should
react fast, however, should still be slower than ethylbenzne and toluene. Another source of error
that was likely a major contributor was the amount of each compound present in the test tube. If
too much of the arene was added to the test tube a the reaction time will likely be noticeably
slower as there will b more product to brominate. Therefore, it is possible that the
methylcyclohexane test tube (#13) had too little of methylcyclohexane in it. The toluene reaction
time at 15 seconds also indicates that this test tube possibly had too much toluene placed in it, thus
leading to a slower observed reaction time. Therefore, it is unlikely that the initial prediction was
wrong due to the reactivity of the

How The Virginia State Statue Of Anti Miscegenation And...
For years there have been forbidden love and marriage in the history of the United States, I
decided to write a reflection on my thoughts views, fact findings and information regarding biracial

Loving family and their pursuit to the Supreme Court in 1967, I thought of my own family history
and realized that my paternal grandparents would ve been prosecuted had they lived in Virginia or

topic. Lastly, there s a scene where Osama Bin Laden is trying to film a video to send to
Americans. He has a very serious attitude, and then starts laughing and grabs a rubber chicken. This
is incredibly offensive to most people, because Bin Laden helped with the planning of 9/11. Family

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has gotten angry at Family Guy numerous

Deception in Macbeth by Shakespeare Essay
Deception is defined as the act of tricking someone by telling them something that is not true . In
the play, Macbeth by William Shakespeare, deception is always present and things are not always
what they appear to be. In this great work of literature, the three witches; the Thane of Cawdor; and
Macbeth and Lady Macbethare the very embodiments of trickery and show us the true effects
deception can have on man. From the first scene of the play, the reader immediately gets a
glimpse of the deception meshed into Macbeth s world. The quote Fair is foul and foul is fair is a
commonly used by the three witches, spoken in their equivocal language. This same language of
vagueness is used when the witches encounter Macbeth and Banquo on the... Show more content on

The depiction of timeless issues such as these is what makes the storyline of the play
compelling to me. Also, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are both strong conveyors of deceit. From
the onset on the play, Macbeth is characterized as strong and loyal to his king and country.
However, once the witches prophecy is planted in his head, his thirst for King is so intense that
it cannot be quenched and slowly his admirable traits are erased. When Macbeth is preparing for
the King s arrival at his house, he starts to question his murderous thoughts. He states that the
King will be here in double trust , for Macbeth will be his hostess and will also be acting as a
subject of the state. How can he possibly do such a grim task? The answer is Lady Macbeth. She
lusts after becoming Queen and living a life of fantasy and does everything in her power to
persuade her husband to kill the King. She questions his courage, she feeds his ego and she
emasculates poor Macbeth all in an effort to get what she wants disguised as what is best for him.
When he agrees, she tells him to look like th innocent flower, but be the serpent under t in order to
commit this regicide. Lady Macbeth, such a beautiful woman, is actually a cunning, strategic and
determined lady so determined that she s willing to risk everything and make her husband lie to the
king and betray him. It s funny how things are not always what they appear to be. In conclusion, the

Comparing Benjamin Franklin s Life And Education
Life and Education
Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706, in Boston Massachusetts. Franklin s father,
Josiah Franklin, worked as a tallow chandler, candle maker, and soap boiler. His mother, Abiah
Folger, took charge of the house and had ten children. Out of the ten children, Franklin was the
eighth child. Benjamin Franklin only had two years of formal education around the age of ten,
because his family couldn t afford to pay the fees. Yet, Benjamin Franklin didn t want to stop
learning new things so he accelerated his education. At the age of 12 Benjamin Franklin began to
work as an apprentice in a printing press owned by his elder brother, James Franklin. At the age of
17 Benjamin Franklin left to Philadelphia and escaped

Technology In Physical Therapy
There are many different technologies in the physical therapy field, I ve chosen four that I ve had
some experience working with. The four I chose was ultrasound, hydrotherapy, gym equipment, and
electrotherapy. The use of technology in the physical therapy is not uncommon and most of the
time it helps speed up the process of recovery. The technologies are not that advanced like some
other fields but they get their job done. The first thing I ve chosen to talk about is the ultrasound.
The utilization of ultrasound was thought to help in producing delicate tissue. This practice has
since stopped in light of the fact that it has been demonstrated insufficient in this regard.
Nonetheless, ultrasound has numerous other therapeutic applications.... Show more content on

I have used ultrasounds while I was trying to rehab form a strain in my hamstring, I would use it
before and after workouts. All I would do was put some ultrasound gel on my leg and rub it for
ten to fifteen minutes with the transducer probe, which is that part that sends out the sound
waves. When in high school I had a back injury and to help loosen me up before games and
practice I would go take a hot bath in the whirlpool to help me ease the pain. It was a good form
of hydrotherapy that I could do myself when it was time for me to take the hot bath all I had to do
was fill the tub up and turn on the jet to get the water to keep moving in circulation. I ve used an
exercise bike and ball during rehab after having surgery. I use the bike to help build up my
stamina after being out because I couldn t go and run until I was released. To help get my
balance back there was a part of an exercise ball that you stand on that helps strengthen ankle
balance. I ve even used electrotherapy after surgery to help my muscles in my lower leg contract
since I couldn t do it myself the muscle had diminished badly well in the cast, I use to just hook
the tens unit up then put the electric patches on my legs and turn it up to I could feel the pulse and

Analysis Of My MistressEyes Are Nothing Like The Sun
My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun... is a sonnet written by William Shakespeare and is
also known as Sonnet 130. He wrote this poem to mock the conventional Petrarchan love sonnets
which are about women who have unattainable beauty. This poem is written in the
Shakespearean sonnet format which consists of a total 14 lines with the first 12 lines divided
into three quatrains, and the last two lines make up a couplet. The quatrains establish the motif
or problem of the poem while the ending couplet explains or resolves the previous lines. Sonnet
130 is a long conceit where the speaker of the poem goes through a long list of comparisons that
seem like insults. The speaker uses juxtaposition to show that his love for his mistress is strong
by describing her in a blunt way that seems insulting on the surface, but he reveals in the end he
loves her even though she is flawed. In the first quatrain of My mistress eyes are nothing like the
sun... , the speaker is already showing that this is not an ordinary love poem. He says, my
mistress eyes are nothing like the sun (line 1). This metaphor depicts that the woman does not
have bright eyes. Most poets would use a clichГ© to describe a woman s eyes as bright or like
sapphires, but the speaker is saying there is nothing special about her eyes. Next, the speaker
describes the woman s lips. The color coral is slightly orange, but he believes coral is more red
than her lips. Also, most poets would describe their subjects to have bright, shiny red lips (2). In
these two lines, the speaker compares his mistress to things found in nature, and many people
associate beauty with nature. However, that is not the case with this poem. He describes her as
the complete opposite. In line 3, the woman s skin is described as gray which makes it seem like
her skin is dull. In Shakespeare s time, pale skin was more desirable, and since she does not have
a pale complexion, it would make her less attractive. The speaker then compares her hair to wire
in this line: If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head (4). A beautiful woman is usually
described as having silky locks. That is the opposite in this poem. This comparison depicts the
woman to have hair that lacks

John Locke s Limited Representationalism
March 12, 2017
A.
Do you ever wonder what life is? How we subsist as humans? What is the macrocosm in general?
It s uncanny concept to cogitate, so many explications are out there and we still don t have the
answers we optate. John Locke, who wanted to test those questions was the first modern empiricist
we studied. His philosophies were deeply influential on us. Locke argued that, the mind represents
the external world, but does not duplicate it. (The Potency of Conceptions, 2002). His argument
makes you genuinely contemplate subsistence and makes you second guess your opinion on what
you cerebrate you wish to be true in life. His specific argument about limited ... Show more content

The hypothesis Locke had was that matter itself, does exist. He utilized the term material
substance, which subsists outside our minds and our perceptions are caused due to this matter.
(Prof. Stanley, 12). This hypothesis expounds why we cannot control our own sense data. They
are caused by material substances that do exist in our mind. His initial argument is that matter is
real and is a component to the cause of our perceptions. Locke s limited representationalism was
that some properties of our sense data look homogeneous to properties of the matter that cause
sense data. Locke also verbally expressed that not all properties of our sense data look
homogeneous to the properties of matter.
His conclusions, in reference to the ego centric problem expresses that the subsistence of the
material world cannot be proven with certainty that we get by mathematics proofs. He verbalizes
that this doesn t designate that we cannot justify our notion in the material world. The justification
for erudition only requires, reasonably high probability. (Prof. Stanley, 11). His colossal concern
with finding the proof for the mind external world was finding the best explanation. The conclusion
to the best explanation would explicate the facts that offers the best possible explanation. His
solicits hypothesis was an endeavor that he made to point to specific set of facts that seem
infeasible to answer. The facts about the claim shows

Essay On Savior Sabling
First and foremost, in considering having a savior sibling the quality of life after future medical
procedures that are endured should be taken into contemplated. Also, to consider is the religious
affiliation and moral standing consequences of deciding on having a genetically engineered donor
aka savior sibling . Furthermore, to contemplate the psychological impact of savior sibling
knowing their intended purpose of their birth as to save the life of a sibling. Significantly as
important are the wishes of the ailing sibling and their thoughts of a savior sibling. Another avenue
to explore is the effects it will take on the immediate familymembers that take a part in the daily
care and support for both children. The psychological impact for each party involved may vary, but
can be considerably damaging if not in agreement with the decisions that have been made for either
child.

However, there should be legal guidelines for the rights of the donor as a minor. For minor donor
that can show sufficient intelligence in understanding the consequences of foregoing any medical
treatment or procedures for the benefit of ailing sibling should be considered for emancipation as
a mature minor. This decision should only be made by the court or appointed agency. The savior
siblings should as well have an established agency that can represent the child in legal
proceedings. The ideal candidates for this agency would be compassionate individuals that are
knowledgeable in the methods of procreation in the child, medical procedures that are encountered,
aftercare of the donor, and any psychological impact that the donor may experience. What they
experience as donors can adversely affect their lives as they grow older. Legal guidelines that are
implemented would help protect their rights in having a say to medical procedures

The Bronze Door Summary
The topic is about the theological features of the bronze doors of Hildesheim reflects and why
Bishop Bernward, the door designer, depicted Eva as a lascivious women by providing the
historical background as well as the long struggle between Bernward and the formidable female
Sophia, abbess of Gandersheim. About the contents organized in the article, first, the author tries
to prove that Bernward played a pivotal part in designing the bronze doors by providing the proof
of his artistic talent and the various types of doors he had seen was the reference to the work. Most
importantly, Bernware s interpretation of the Fall: Eve is apparently more eroticized from that in
the art of early medieval Europe. Moreover, the author indicates... Show more content on

The materials the author provides to support his thesis are come from many documents and
visual analysis. First of all, the author claims that Bernware had strong ability to help design the
door by providing the text in his vita in which it states Berware excelled in the mechanical arts.
As for he travel experience as the reference for the door, the style of the door combines the
format of the Early Christian type with the medium of Carolingian examples, for instance, the
juxtaposed narratives of the Old and new Testaments on the door. It does not appear in
Touronian manuscript. Moreover, compared to other Carolingian models, Bernware created his
own Genesis cycle because of the illustration of Eve in Junius11. The example could be the
entire absence of the Creation of Eve. Moreover, the style of Eve and Adam also implies that
Bernware tries to convey perils of seductive women. First, he emphasized Eve s imbalance
moving, height and body shape, representing an aggressive and sexually provocative woman. The
fruits also represent breast, warning man against touching the breast. The reason why Bernware
depited negative images because Genesis B reflects Eve s the internalized guilty as well as the
reformers were opposed to marriage, claiming women causing sin to the world. Bernware may
share the belief because the emperor, Henry II and Synod of Goslar were supporters in the reform

Biblical Message Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
The author starts by presenting a beautiful, perfectly calm day of June, speaking about people that
gather in the square of the small village for a lottery, a short event that will allow to these villagers
to get home for noon dinner . (134) While gather in the square, people communicate humorously
one to another or simply speak about everyday life. When, at the end of the story the lotteryproves
to be a macabre event meant to choose one of them to be killed by lapidation, the reader
understands with stupor that the villagers merely consider the event something normal, a routine,
and they will stop immediately to think deeper about it. The children symbol of innocence, are
present there, playing, speaking and eventually made a great pile of stones in one corner of the
square . (135) It seems so normal to think... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mrs. Hutchinson s late arrival in the square and the special interest shown by the author in
describing her enthusiastic attitude are clues to establish a connection between the outcome of the
event and the character involved in the outcome. What could come in reader s mind is the biblical
message So the last will be the first (Mathew 20:16). The last signal of the story suggesting the
tragic end is the black spot on Mrs. Hutchinson s lottery paper. This is the moment when it becomes
evident that the lottery is not what was expected. The author closes the circle of the narrative by
revealing the purpose of the pile of stones gathered by the children at the beginning of the story. The
stones are the weapons used for killing the person chosen in the lottery, Mrs. Hutchinson. At the
end, the victim s enthusiasm becomes dread and the beautiful scene from the beginning of the story

  • 3. The Game Of Soccer Essay Description Soccer is a sport played with two teams of eleven players on a rectangular grass field with a ball and typically lasts 90 minutes. The players wear shorts, a short sleeved jersey, shin guards, long socks, and cleats. Of the eleven players, one is a goalkeeper and the remaining players are either playing defense, midfield, or forward. The goalkeeper s objective is to stop the ball from going into his or her team s goal. The other players, using only their feet, must dribble and pass the ball in order to move it up the field and attempt to place the ball in the opposing team s goal. In the middle of both short ends of the field, there is a goal, one belonging to each team.(Swanson) The objective of each team is to place the ball in the goal of the opposing team to get a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. History There is evidence tracing soccer back to 2000 BC. At this time, the game was played by the Romans, Greeks, and Chinese. A leather ball was being dribbled and kicked in a small net or passed between two people. (History) The game of soccer arrived in England during the medieval times. During this time, the objective of the game was to move the ball to a specific spot. Violent strategies such as punching, kicking, and biting were used to slow down the opposing team. Violent incidents during a soccer match were common. King Edward III of England and King James I of Scotland banned soccer in 1365 and 1424 respectively due ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How My Personality Developed According to Larsen and Buss (2005, p. 4), personality is defined as a set of psychological traits and mechanisms within an individual that are organized and relatively enduring which that influence the individual s interactions with, and adaptations to, the intrapsychic, physical, and social environments . Then, the enhancement from the dynamic organization that leads to distinctive is called personality development. • 5. Personal Narrative-Parody Clumsy It was just before the sun set and you could smell the stench of each individual in line. Some smelled like year old gym sweet and others smelled more like the sickly sweet aroma of the bakery where they had no doubt spent their day. I sat down upon the small brick wall that I had been leaning upon for what felt like an eternity. Of course i did this with the help of my broad shouldered father who was almost as tried as I, a small blond four year old. After frolicing around Disney World all day, meeting my idols had left me physically and mentally exhausted. Better yet we were engulfed in this wretched humidity that could only be produced by a summer day in Florida. I wished for sleep, to escape the hoards of people, the extensive lines, and the most annoying of all, the screaming children being micromanaged by their unintelligent guardians. • 7. The Generation Of The New Generation The unknown future may be frightening, but knowing the Millennials are the next generation of leaders to change the world should be comforting. Millennials make up the population of society that was born between 1980 and 2000 and in America there are more millennials right now than baby boomers more than 80 million (Simmons Duffit). Just like every new generation, the Millennials have been endlessly criticized by older generations. They have been called lazy, entitled, self absorbed, social media crazed, technology addicts, privileged, and so much more. This generation change has drawn more public attention than ever before, maybe because of the access to widespread information nowadays or maybe because this time, it s a bigger deal. Millennials aren t afraid to address this topic because they believe that they can change the world for the better. They want the judgements in communities and the criticisms in the workplace to stop. They want society to realize they are not so different from generations before, they are already transforming life as we know it, and that they will soon be the next generation of leaders and nothing can change that. Although Millennials can be perceived in multiple negative aspects, older generations should be open to the unique potential that this massive generation has to offer as an opportunity to close the gap of separation and learn to grow from each other. One of the most common criticism of Millennials is their tendency to be lazy. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, these reasons do not outweigh the benefits of being vaccinated. As stated by William Foege, Vaccines are the tugboats of preventative health . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After surveying pediatricians throughout the United States, 70% of parents are using their pro choice option and not vaccinating their children. The same survey provided information stating that 4% of pediatricians do not vaccinate their own children. These pro choice beliefs are often biased upon political beliefs as well. Such theories can be seen in conservatives. Conservatives are pro choice and are wary of the information provided to the public (Rabinowitz). Taken into consideration, political beliefs are a combination of religion, morals, and other political influences. Stereotypes have not been associated with pro choice political parties. This lack of stereotyping has allowed pro choice views to become more of a norm. Therefore, the pressure to vaccinate the child is not evaluated as a lack in human judgement, but rather a difference in opinion and beliefs that allow parents to not vaccinate their child. The second debateable topic is that vaccinations are just for profit, not for safety. This refusal is linked to the beliefs that vaccines are not safe, vaccines have ultimately killed children, the government protect the pharmaceutical companies, and that pharmaceutical companies are just personally profiting from vaccinations (Gullion). Such profits can be seen when looking at the ACIP. The ACIP recommends which vaccinations the states should mandate. In return, the board members of this organization receive profit. Therefore, ... • 12. Robotic Male Crabs Many animals exhibit unique mating patterns and over time have evolved species specific traits to grab the attention of potential mates. Sexual Selection allows for individuals who possess certain qualities to produce more offspring than others, resulting in the evolution by means of natural selection of that trait and the diminishing of the traits of the weaker individuals. This allows for greater fitness of an individual which will in turn benefit the species as a whole. MaleFiddle crabs possess one large claw, which has been observed to be used as a weapon and as a signal of courtship (Callander et al. 2013). Through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice her community experiences every day, she is inspired to write this particular piece to show that African Americans, although are scared, will keep fighting and searching for their utopia. Starting from stanza one, the word frayed stands out the most. Repeated twice, it immediately tells the reader that the situation is not that of hope and is life changing to the main character. Still spot also references that the main character is looking for a quiet setting. The theme of quiet and peace is renounced in stanza two as words such as velvet peace and willy hush also go along with the peace and quiet theme. Now, the reader gains a better sense of the financial condition of the main character. Tatters makes the reader think that the main character is poor and financially challenged, and knowing Brooks purpose of the poem is about revitalizing hope for the black community, the main character is most likely black male. Moreover, Brooks inserts a metaphor that comprises most of the stanza and ultimately depicts that the character in the poem is trying to find peace and quiet both within a house and his mind (Poem 3). I also think the author used humor to describe Casey s experince at his game and how he let his fans down, and lost the game. An example of humor in Casey at the Bat is in stanza two, when the author says We d put up even money now, with Casey at the bat. I see it as humor because everyone in the stands thought that Casey would hit the ball no matter what. I also find it funny because everyone in the stands got so happy and excited. The prevalence of pressure ulcers for spinal cord injury patients can reach up to 95% and for many it can be a recurrent problem. The article that I have chosen to review sets out to compare ultraviolet C versus a placebo ultraviolet C and how each effect the wound healingprocess for a spinal cord injury patient. The main outcome measures were the percent area of the wound compared to baseline area of the wound. As the wound decreased in size it is theoretically assumed that the wound is healing. The central concepts of the study were based on ultraviolet C positive effects on wound healing in vitro. In vitro studies effects include; modification of growth factors, fibronectin release from fibroblast, epidermal cell proliferation, killing of pathogens, accelerated DNA synthesis, and antibiotic resistant organisms. This study hypothesized that ultraviolet C would contribute as a statistically significant effective intervention for the treatment of pressure ulcers in spinal cord injury patients. A previous study in the 1990s showed ultraviolet C to be effective in pressure ulcers for spinal cord injury patients versus a nursing care control group. This previous study failed to show a statistical significanceand failed to account for drop outs within the control group. Vegetarian Vs Omnivore Whether it be because of religion, culture, or personal choice, millions of people worldwide do not eat meat, and the majority of the population, the omnivores, often ridicule these people, the vegetarians, for their choices. This has sadly created a divide between thousands of people, however the cause of this separation is simple. One side, whether it be the omnivores or the vegetarians, feels the need to impose its choices onto the other side. Both sides are at fault here, as the omnivores tell the vegetarians that they cannot get proper nutrients from a plant based diet, and the vegetarians try to tell the omnivores that they are torturing animals by killing them for food. The omnivores are wrong because, while it does require careful planning, vegetarians can easily get the nutrients they need, and the vegetarians are hypocritical because, as the article will show, farming kills thousands of creatures. It moved into Clinical Institutes and special expertise institutes This allowed clarity to patients and they knew where to go to get the care that they needed. On top of this, there was also Support Institutes created that would provide support to the Clinical Institutes. Cleveland Clinic not only provided pre service to patients, but provided pre service to attract providers into their network. They provided training for providers and offered them a good electronic medical record system. There are also two sides to the story. While employers were anticipating the weakening of labor unions, the workers saw it as opportunity for not only individual advancement, but also a means of dignifying labor. The basics of computer science can be learned fairly quickly as the majority of computer programming is simple logic. It is so easy to learn that in Tennessee schools have begun teaching student the basics of computerprogramming as early as the third grade. This just goes to show how learning computer programmingcan be just as easily taught as basic maths and sciences. Computer programming does not need to be limited to its own subject. In Tennessee computer programming has been integrated into both its science and maths classes. Through a simulation software called ViMap, third and fourth grade teachers were able to teach a class on how butterflies adjust their behavior depending on their recent food consumption. This shows that adults as well as children are able to learn and use computer programming skills in order to benefit their lives. The benefits of learning computer programming are not limited to using computer programming itself. However, this has been disputed by some industry groups such as GrainCorp in relation to the Inland Rail project. A growing group of Americans do not believe in God or any organized faith. In fact, unbelief is even fashionable. Religious conviction is perceived as burdensome or an outdated attitude easily discarded. This is the backdrop upon which 20th century American, Southern Gothicwriter, Flannery O Connor, wrote her books and short stories in the 1950s and 1960s. She, in her short stories and books of fiction, did not describe beautiful rooms or people living happily ever after; she wrote about the human condition in the American South and the state of religious conviction. This mechanism essentially function by first initiation step in which the halogenated molecule splits into two halogenated radicals which is followed by the formation of a hydrocarbon radical. The next step of the radical mechanism, propagation, involves the hydrocarbon molecule reaction with a halogenated molecule, thus producing a hydrocarbon halogen (R X) compound, and more halogenation molecule thus allowing the reaction to continue on to completion. This is once again due the reasoning stated earlier, as in terms of hydrogen reactivity: benzene aromatic ~ aliphatic tertiary secondary primary. This is based on the reasoning in Hammond s Postulates that the more stable radical will have a smaller rate determining step and the transition state will resemble the products more so, thus indicating why it can be considered more stable. The actual order observed was methylcyclohexane ethylbenzene toluene tert butylbenzene ~ cyclohexane. This was not the predicted order as methylcyclohexane should have reacted third fastest instead of reacting first as observed, however, excluding the error of methylcyclohexane the rest of the prediction seem to line up with the observed results. Since methylcyclohexane was the only contributor to the misalignment with the predicted and observed indicates that some sort of error occurred in the process of carrying out the reaction. The source of error is most likely due to the possibility that methylcyclohexane had the bromine added to it a few seconds prior to being set down and timed for a reaction. The reasoning behind this is because methylcyclohexane should react fast, however, should still be slower than ethylbenzne and toluene. Another source of error that was likely a major contributor was the amount of each compound present in the test tube. If too much of the arene was added to the test tube a the reaction time will likely be noticeably slower as there will b more product to brominate. Therefore, it is possible that the methylcyclohexane test tube (#13) had too little of methylcyclohexane in it. The toluene reaction time at 15 seconds also indicates that this test tube possibly had too much toluene placed in it, thus leading to a slower observed reaction time. Therefore, it is unlikely that the initial prediction was wrong due to the reactivity of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Technology In Physical Therapy There are many different technologies in the physical therapy field, I ve chosen four that I ve had some experience working with. The four I chose was ultrasound, hydrotherapy, gym equipment, and electrotherapy. The use of technology in the physical therapy is not uncommon and most of the time it helps speed up the process of recovery. The technologies are not that advanced like some other fields but they get their job done. The first thing I ve chosen to talk about is the ultrasound. The utilization of ultrasound was thought to help in producing delicate tissue. This practice has since stopped in light of the fact that it has been demonstrated insufficient in this regard. Nonetheless, ultrasound has numerous other therapeutic applications.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have used ultrasounds while I was trying to rehab form a strain in my hamstring, I would use it before and after workouts. All I would do was put some ultrasound gel on my leg and rub it for ten to fifteen minutes with the transducer probe, which is that part that sends out the sound waves. When in high school I had a back injury and to help loosen me up before games and practice I would go take a hot bath in the whirlpool to help me ease the pain. It was a good form of hydrotherapy that I could do myself when it was time for me to take the hot bath all I had to do was fill the tub up and turn on the jet to get the water to keep moving in circulation. I ve used an exercise bike and ball during rehab after having surgery. I use the bike to help build up my stamina after being out because I couldn t go and run until I was released. To help get my balance back there was a part of an exercise ball that you stand on that helps strengthen ankle balance. I ve even used electrotherapy after surgery to help my muscles in my lower leg contract since I couldn t do it myself the muscle had diminished badly well in the cast, I use to just hook the tens unit up then put the electric patches on my legs and turn it up to I could feel the pulse and see it ... • 46. Analysis Of My MistressEyes Are Nothing Like The Sun My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun... is a sonnet written by William Shakespeare and is also known as Sonnet 130. He wrote this poem to mock the conventional Petrarchan love sonnets which are about women who have unattainable beauty. This poem is written in the Shakespearean sonnet format which consists of a total 14 lines with the first 12 lines divided into three quatrains, and the last two lines make up a couplet. The quatrains establish the motif or problem of the poem while the ending couplet explains or resolves the previous lines. Sonnet 130 is a long conceit where the speaker of the poem goes through a long list of comparisons that seem like insults. The speaker uses juxtaposition to show that his love for his mistress is strong by describing her in a blunt way that seems insulting on the surface, but he reveals in the end he loves her even though she is flawed. In the first quatrain of My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun... , the speaker is already showing that this is not an ordinary love poem. He says, my mistress eyes are nothing like the sun (line 1). This metaphor depicts that the woman does not have bright eyes. Most poets would use a clichГ© to describe a woman s eyes as bright or like sapphires, but the speaker is saying there is nothing special about her eyes. Next, the speaker describes the woman s lips. The color coral is slightly orange, but he believes coral is more red than her lips. Also, most poets would describe their subjects to have bright, shiny red lips (2). In these two lines, the speaker compares his mistress to things found in nature, and many people associate beauty with nature. However, that is not the case with this poem. He describes her as the complete opposite. In line 3, the woman s skin is described as gray which makes it seem like her skin is dull. In Shakespeare s time, pale skin was more desirable, and since she does not have a pale complexion, it would make her less attractive. The speaker then compares her hair to wire in this line: If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head (4). A beautiful woman is usually described as having silky locks. That is the opposite in this poem. This comparison depicts the woman to have hair that lacks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How we subsist as humans? What is the macrocosm in general? It s uncanny concept to cogitate, so many explications are out there and we still don t have the answers we optate. John Locke, who wanted to test those questions was the first modern empiricist we studied. His philosophies were deeply influential on us. Locke argued that, the mind represents the external world, but does not duplicate it. (The Potency of Conceptions, 2002). His argument makes you genuinely contemplate subsistence and makes you second guess your opinion on what you cerebrate you wish to be true in life. His specific argument about limited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hypothesis Locke had was that matter itself, does exist. He utilized the term material substance, which subsists outside our minds and our perceptions are caused due to this matter. (Prof. Stanley, 12). This hypothesis expounds why we cannot control our own sense data. They are caused by material substances that do exist in our mind. His initial argument is that matter is real and is a component to the cause of our perceptions. Locke s limited representationalism was that some properties of our sense data look homogeneous to properties of the matter that cause sense data. Locke also verbally expressed that not all properties of our sense data look homogeneous to the properties of matter. His conclusions, in reference to the ego centric problem expresses that the subsistence of the material world cannot be proven with certainty that we get by mathematics proofs. He verbalizes that this doesn t designate that we cannot justify our notion in the material world. The justification for erudition only requires, reasonably high probability. (Prof. Stanley, 11). His colossal concern with finding the proof for the mind external world was finding the best explanation. The conclusion to the best explanation would explicate the facts that offers the best possible explanation. His solicits hypothesis was an endeavor that he made to point to specific set of facts that seem infeasible to answer. The facts about the claim shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The ideal candidates for this agency would be compassionate individuals that are knowledgeable in the methods of procreation in the child, medical procedures that are encountered, aftercare of the donor, and any psychological impact that the donor may experience. As for he travel experience as the reference for the door, the style of the door combines the format of the Early Christian type with the medium of Carolingian examples, for instance, the juxtaposed narratives of the Old and new Testaments on the door. It does not appear in Touronian manuscript. Moreover, compared to other Carolingian models, Bernware created his own Genesis cycle because of the illustration of Eve in Junius11. The example could be the entire absence of the Creation of Eve. Moreover, the style of Eve and Adam also implies that Bernware tries to convey perils of seductive women.
