Importance Of Learning A Secondary Language
I believe that learning a secondary language is necessary to get where you want to go in life. For
most people that have jobs there is always going to be a customer or another co worker that speaks
a different language than you. You should learn a different language for traveling purposes so if
you wantto go to a different country you will know the main languagein that country. Learning a
different language is good to know to make friends living in other places that know a different
language than you. Knowing a secondary language is a graduation requirement and can even help
you improve your test scores.
The first reason you should learn different languages other than your first language is because,
you may need to know it for your job. When you get a job there could be customers that may be
speaking a different language and you will not know how to help them. There could be a person
that is deaf and you will not be able to help them find what they are looking for and help them to
your best ability. Don t you want to be the person that is able to help people speaking a different
language? You do not want to end up in the situation where you need to look for a co working to
help what the customer is trying to say to you or ask of you. You should learn another language to
open up a world of job opportunities.
For example, when I get my future job as a large animal vet my main secondary languages that I
will need to know are spanish and especially since we live in the

What Is The Mood Of The Movie Rashomon
The movie Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa is told through the perspectives of multiple characters.
Three guys are killing time by sharing their perspectives on a story while they wait for the rain to
stop. The movie depends on dialogue and detail in every scene which gives us information to
compare the different perspectives that is told by each character. Throughout the film, the audience
and the characters do not know who is telling the true story. Akira decided not to use dramatic irony
but instead he decided that we were not going to know the same things that the characters did not
know, the characters and the audience did not know who s story was true. In the movie Rashomon,
the lighting was not very bright, it was low which matched the mood of the entire scenes that was

While we was watching different perspectives of a specific story, another story was unfolding in
the larger picture which you really get to see more of it at the end of the film. The setting of
story that was being told in the movie took place in nature, some kind of woods. The costumes
that was used by the director to show the social class that each character stood in. For example
the samurai and his wife would be the highest class out of all the characters as you can see in the
beginning of the film, when he is walking by her in the woods, they were wearing the best
clothes and he had better posture than the other men. The Bandits clothing did not look new, you
can also notice by the way he acts that he is not very civilized. The director uses a lot of close
ups through the entire film, which allows the viewer to see the face expression of each character.
The characters in this film act with a lot of laughing, crying and screaming, the director decided to
use a theatrical approach to show the importance of the

How Does Frost Use Symbols In Robert Frost
Frost first illustrates the use of symbolism through the bending of the birches in order to allude to
a freedom from reality. In this manner, he begins by imagining that the shapes and bends of the
birch trees were caused by a young boy climbing and swinging gleefully upon the trunks; as he
once did. This moment of nostalgia allows him to reflect to his childhood, wistfully wishing to
return to a more carefree time where he too was a kicker of branches. To emphasize this idea, he
goes on to compare the climbing of the thick wood trunks, to attempting to reach up towards
heaven. As a result of this, Frost desperately wishes to escape from the ground, and in a sense, the
real world.
In spite of this, his wistful thinking is broken when he

Virtual Private Networks Pros And Cons
A VPN is one solution to establishing long distance and/or open set of connection associations.
VPNs is usually implemented (deployed) by businesses or organizations rather than by persons,
but virtual networks be capable of reaching from within a home network. Compared to other
technologies, VPNs offers several advantages, mainly profits for wireless local area networking.
For an organization looking to supply a protected network communications for its client base, a
VPN offers two major compensations over other technologies: price savings, and system
scalability. To the clients accessing these networks, VPNs also carry a few payback of ease of use.

The Cultural Impact Of International Management
Fonterra s Cultural impact in international management.
Good organisational behaviour from a firm is to understand the core values of their host s culture.
Culture is shared knowledge, traditions and values of perception as a result of cognitive thinking
and similar attitudes. In international management for long term investment, in order for the firms
to conduct successful business globally, paying attention to the cultural aspects is key to being
devoted to the residential conditions. Conjointly international managers will often apply culture as

Paragraph On Chameleons
chameleon
Chameleon or chamaeleons (family Chamaeleonidae) are a distinctive and highly specialized clade
of old world lizards with 202 species described as of June 2015.
These species come in a range of colors, and many species have the ability to change colors.
All chameleons are found in the Old World, but most live in Madagascar and Africa. The rest are
found in the Middle East, a few on islands in the Indian Ocean, and one, the Indian chameleon, in
India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Another, the common chameleon, is native to Spain, Portugal, the
islands in the Mediterranean Sea, and the Near East.

Chameleons are solitary and extremely territorial, rejecting even the company of other chameleons.
Most lizards have five toes, but the chameleon s five toes are modified into groups: on the forefoot,
the two outside toes are joined to form one group, and the three inside toes form another; the hind
foot has the opposite arrangement. This allows them to grasp branches just like our thumbs and
fingers can grasp objects.
chameleon 3
Chameleons also use their long tail when moving in the trees to grab a branch and secure their
position. The chameleon s tail cannot be broken off and regrown like those of many other lizards.
Chameleons have the most distinctive eyes of any reptile. The upper and lower eyelids are joined,
with only a pinhole large enough for the pupil to see through. Each eye can pivot and focus
independently, allowing the chameleon to observe two different objects simultaneously. This gives
them a full 360 degree arc of vision around their bodies.

Jean-Paul Marat
Death Portraits of Jean Paul Marat The French Revolution one of the most important significant
events in European history, which lead to the end of European monarchy. The French Revolution
effected the way Europeans used to think giving of the sense of hope and liberty from monarch s or
nobles. Thanks to the theories of radical journalists and politicians whom started to publish their
thoughts about the French monarchy government, and the leaders of the corrupted government
people started to speak more freely about the aristocrat class. One Jean Paul Marathad been one of
those journalists who would speak and write his thoughts about the French monarchy he played a
very important role in the making of the French Revolution. However, the amount trouble one gets
to speak freely two hundred years ago differs from the modern day freedom of speech one gets;
and Marat s radicalism against the French monarchy head resulted in his death. As a result, Marta
s death grams the attention of two artists that try to capture the moment of Marat s death by
drawing a portrait of his death. The first artist to draw a portrait of Marat s death was a French
artist Jacques Louis David in 1793 who named the painting The Death of Marat. Another artist that
painted a painting capturing Marat s death had been a Norwegian painter called Edvard Munch the
painting was painted more than one hundred years after Jacques painting, and it was also called

An Analysis Of Maggie Johnson s The Great Gatsby
Maggie Johnson first came into my attention when she was found lying in the filth of a darken
ally way in Bowery. She was taken into a local hospital where she was treated for dehydration for
minor cuts. The medical staff contacted me to see if we could set up an appointment to meet
with one another. Maggie is a twenty one year old, Caucasian female. During my first meeting
with her, I noted that Maggie was a very beautiful young lady although she looked very tired,
there were dark circles under her eyes, and her hair was greasy as if she had not bathed in days,
she was thin, and there were bruises covering her body. Maggie s was currently working as a
prostitution. Maggie comes from a very strained family life, living in poverty. She lives in a
horrific tenement in the Bowery neighborhood of New York s Lower East Side, with her two
younger brothers, Jimmie and Tommie. Jimmie is hardened against any sympathy due to the
years he spent on the streets fighting with gangs and is currently working as a truck driver.
Tommie was the infant of the family who passed away at a young age. The tenement is filled
with argumentative feelings amongst her parents. Mary Johnson, Maggie s mother, is an
alcoholic and very aggressive. She has been noted for torturing Maggie with hateful words over
actions that she has done. Mr. Johnson, the father, was also very aggressive with his children and
an alcoholic like his wife, he too passed away. Maggie had a relationship with a friend of

Community Is Unity It s The Foundation For All The People
Community is unity it s people coming together as one to support different ideologies and to create
a sense of togetherness in a group. Community is important because it s the foundation for all the
people that live in it. Without that sense of unity and togetherness there will be disfunction not only
within that community but with the people that reside in that community. There is a relationship
between the people and the community because the people are what make that community either
prosper or become dysfunctional. For example if a community is dysfunctional it s because the
people within that community are not coming together to create that sense of unity. In order for a
community to be vibrant and prosper the people within it have to seek each other out and create
that bond, that sense of wholeness which will then make that community be vibrant and not
dysfunctional. A community being vibrant or dysfunctional is based on the people, individuals are
shaped by the community in which they live in based off how that community is set up. Meaning if
the community is not stable it will reflect through the people and vice versa. Within my community
I play the role of being a leader, this is important because no matter the form of community my
presence helps create that sense of unity and leadership.A community being vibrant and
dysfunctional is all dependent on the people. If a community is vibrant it s because of the unity and

Positive Change In Food Waste Levels
Over the course of the last 47 years our level of wasted food has increased by 40% meaning that
we throw away one third of our food. This problem is also more devastating than most people
realize. We waste billions of dollars of food and the amount of food that just the united states
wastes in one year could fill 730 football stadiums. This food wastealso is hurting the environment
in a major way, increasing our CO2 levels exponentially. All of this food that we waste could be
going to serving the homeless and starving. The best way to start to make positive change in food
waste levels is to begin to recognize the problem, spread awareness for the environmental damage it
does, and to start to implement policies that give small businesses... Show more content on

Even if people understood that food would still not get to people who need it because getting the
food to the hungry and to shelters and the poor is not cheap for the suppliers and is actually
cheaper for them to just throw it away. That might be the biggest issue of all because for
businesses to donate food is very expensive, they have to box it, store it, coordinate delivery
dates, and there s a lot of overheads, and you cannot blame most companies for trying to make
ends meat. Companies are also not charities, which is why companies should be incentivized to
donate food with tax breaks, large corporations already get one, charity s get them and it would
increase the amount of food that s being donated exponentially. Especially for small companies
because annoyingly small companies tax breaks are not a permanent part of the tax code. This
means that Congress has to keep renewing it which is a problem, because family farms and
local restaurants may not know if they re going to get that break and the end of the year. So
donating food might not be financially viable for them. IT s a ridiculous system that prevents a
lot of food from being donated. It s a widely agreed upon statement that small businesses should
receive tax incentives to donate food. Once we do this it will be just one small piece of stopping
this problem, and the

World s Population And Governments Have Become...
As the world s population and governments have become environmentally conscious, the demand
for green business solutions has risen to the forefront of the shipping industry. Carbon Dioxide and
Greenhouse emissions stemming from the use of fossil fuels has adverse effects upon the
environment and global climate, and consumers are beginning to filter their shipping options based
not only on price, but a shipping company s carbon footprint as well. The table below displays the
amount of CO2 (in grams) emitted per metric ton of freight and per km of transportation:

Modern lorry or truck60 to 150 g
Modern train30 to 100 g
Modern ship (sea freight)10 to 40 g
Airship (Zeppelin, Cargolifter ) as planned55 g
Global shipping is currently a $ 60 billion industry which is helping the big and small companies
move their products around the world quickly. But the system is currently experiencing a number
of inefficiencies such as:
Wasting fuel and dumping planet warming waste into the environment.
Road freight carried by medium and heavy trucks accounts of over 6% of all global greenhouse gas
emission. Greenhouse gas emission from all transportation sources is estimated will increase 80%
by 2030.
In the United States 15% of those trucks run empty while the remaining 85% run on average at just

Summary Of The Trial Of Bessie Dunlop
In Witch, Fairy and Folktale Narratives in the Trial of Bessie Dunlop , Henderson uses primary
sources like Bessie Dunlop s confession, which allows Henderson to link Bessie s case as one of
the earliest and most descriptive accounts that involve fairy encounters. Another confession that
Henderson provides is that of Janet Boyman of Edinburgh, who was accused of raising evil spirits
at a fairy well to learn how to heal the sick. Sources such as confessions provide readers with direct
evidence that witches did in fact exist and the context in which witch trials and executions occurred.
Another source used by Henderson are witch testimonies, such as those found in Malleus
Maleficarum (1480) which provides accounts of witchcraftin South West Germany. Henderson also
provides readers with evidence on the number of persons involved in cases, the number of witch
trials and the number of executions that took place. The secondary sources that Henderson such as

The Pros And Cons Of Child Rearing
One of the most heavily debated aspects of abuse when it comes to child rearing is defining
what abuse is relative to the cultural traditions of a society. More particularly, these cultural
specific patterns of child rearing have been one of the most controversial topics in terms of child
abuse because what might seem as abusive for some cultures might not exactly be seen as such in
another (Bornstein, 1991). A good example of this type of duality would be the difference between
Western and Eastern Standards of child rearing and control. In the United States, spanking and
badmouthing is considered to be abusive in the sense that policies have even been established to
mitigate these behaviors from the parents. However, in countries like the Philippines, Vietnam, and
China, among others, spanking and use of bad words are considered to be normal as long as it is
within acceptable limits (e.g. not inflicting grave injuries and permanent marks). Nevertheless,
contrary to what the western perspective thinks about the use of intense physical and verbal means
of rearing the child, children in the East are not exactly those how would experience psychological
abuseor other types of emotional repercussions, because in the first place they know exactly what
the is the purpose of acts like this. Now, this poses the question, if child rearing is relative, what
would be considered as abusive and not, especially in terms of the verbal and psychological aspects
of it. According to Pingleton

Lily Owens Character Analysis
Lily Owens is a teenage girl who wishes her life was different. At the age of four Lily s mother
died after being shot. Everyday she wishes her mother would be there to protect her from an
abusive father and a miserable life. Lily s mother left very few possessions behind, only a picture
and a mason jar. These items allowed Lily to feel safe. The memory of her motherhelped her face
each trial. She spent much of her life searching for a mother figure and recreating her mother s
story. Lily longed for love and attention, something her father and caregiver, Rosaleen couldn t
seem to give her. The reality was that Lily lived in a time that segregation was intact and John
Fitzgerald Kennedy was trying to launch rockets to the moon. The author used symbolism, for
example space, to show the lost nature of Lily s character. Fourteen and my life went spinning
off into a whole new orbit (1). Lost in thought, Lily always was thinking about what would
happen if her mother was around. She was forced to follow her father s orders or she would be
hit or shoved. This made her want to create as much distance between her and her father as
possible. On the back of her mother s picture it said Tiburon, South Carolina. Maybe in Tiburon
she could have a better life and bring her closer to her mother? Lily and Rosaleen hatched a plan
to escape. As they left town they were confronted by a group of white men. Rosaleen spat on
their shoes in protest of her rights. Then she was beaten up and sent to jail. T. Ray (Lily s father)
was furious! At this pivotal moment Lily knew she must leave. Confidence grew throughout
Lily, she got Rosaleen out of the hospital and left to Tiburon. Before she left she gave T. Ray a
note saying, Dear T. Ray don t bother looking for me. Lily P.S. People who tell lies like you
should rot in hell (42). This is a major turning point in this book because Lily had never stood up
to her father like that. On Rosaleen and Lily s adventure they found a house, it is a honey farm.
Living there are three women August, May, and June. Lily hid the fact that her mother was dead
but deep down inside she knew these women knew her mother. The three women were very
suspicious about Lily but they kept that to

Radio-controlled Cars
Radio controlled car Radio controlled (or R/C) cars are usually categorized as either toy or
hobby grade. Remote control vehicles are usually of one of two types: control of a vehicle by
radio transmission or by a wire connecting between the transmitter and car. This article focuses on
the radio controlled vehicle category, both toy and hobby grades.Cars are powered by various
sources. Electric cars are powered by small but powerful electric motors and rechargeable nickel
cadmium, nickel metal hydride, or lithium polymer cells. There are also brushed or brushless
electric motors. Most fuel powered models use glow plug engines, small internal combustion
engines fueled by a special mixture of nitromethane, methanol, and oil (in most... Show more

In addition, the increased speed and weight of fuel powered vehicles generally lead to higher
speed collisions, causing greater damage to the collided vehicles, and a greater degree of safety
concerns needs to be taken into account. However, nitro vehicles are more durable due to
stronger components to sustain the greater stresses of more power. Gas powered models
Gasoline powered vehicles, also known as fuelies or gassers , run on premixed gasoline and oil.
They cost much more (usually $1000 $3000 RTR) than nitro and electric cars. They are also
much bigger and therefore require much more space to run. They don t usually have high top
end speeds (compared to nitro and some electrics) but have lots of power and don t take a lot of
fuel to run. Over time the cost of a gas powered car can be less than some nitro powered vehicles,
because of the high cost of nitro fuel and buying new nitro engines to replace worn out ones. In
addition, gas powered motors rarely if ever require tuning and have a very long lifespan. These
large scale models have been popular in Europe for over a decade. Accessories All R/C models
generally require the purchase of additional accessories. For electrical vehicles, battery packs and
a suitable charger are needed to power the car. A soldering iron and supplies are often necessary to
build high performance battery packs and install upgraded electronics or low resistance

Balance Error Scoring System
Dizziness and/or imbalance are common symptoms for athletes sustaining a concussion [1 5]. It is
speculated that the acute symptoms of dizziness and/or imbalance experienced in these athletes is
not actually a peripheral vestibular dysfunction (i.e., inner ear), but rather a central disruption
between the vestibular system and the pathways for vision, known as a visual vestibular interaction
mismatch [6 8]. This mismatch can lead to decreased gaze stability with head movements and may
result in common symptom complaints of blurred vision or diplopia [9 10]. Athlete reported
symptoms are a large portion of the concussionassessment battery; however, it is well known that
athletes under report symptoms [11 12].
Thus, determining objective and accurate measures to help determine safe return to play on the
sideline and during the return to play progression protocol appears to be a necessary task for
health care professionals. Currently, balance function is most commonly assessed with a postural
control measure known as the Balance Error Scoring System (BESS), which indirectly assesses
vestibular sensory input. One limitation of this measure is the lack of information regarding the
functional use of the visual vestibular system, specifically the vestibulo ocular reflex (VOR). The
VOR allows for stable gaze during head movements [13 14] and is imperative to the athletes optimal

Persephone Demeter Hades
Hades, Persephone, and Demeter are all mythological characters referenced for evil, the beauty of
the earth, and fruitfulness of our planet. Hades strong lust for Persephone drove him to capture her,
while Demeter, her mother, sought to protect her. Considering what they symbolise, people today
continue to reference their story because of its strong relation to our society and ever changing
nature.
According to the Greek mythology Hades, the unseen Greek god of the underworld, intrigued by
the beautiful daughter of Demeter and Zeus, Persephone, created a dilemma (Cotterell 49). Struck

Analysis Of Jack Davis s Rabbit Proof Fence
The 1985 play, No Sugar, written by Jack Davis, exposes the cruel treatment towards Aboriginals
during the Great Depression, from the point of view of Jimmy. Similarly, Rabbit Proof Fence,
the 2002 historical drama film further conveys this harsh treatment but from the contrasting
point of view of Molly. Both the point of views explored support related purposes and evoke the
same responses from the audience. Generic conventions including, dramatic techniques, mise en
scene, flashbacks and dialogue aid the directors in highlighting the main purposes of informing
the readers of the Aboriginals side of the story, and to provoke an empathetic response from the
viewers. Jack Davis play, No Sugar, utilises a variety of dramatic techniques in order to explain
to audience the that there are two sides to every story. Many people only know the European
Settlers story, but Davis play aims to expose the oppression the Aboriginals experience during
the 1930 s. From the point of view of Jimmy Munday, the main force behind the Aboriginals
rebellion, we are able to understand the hardships the Indigenous people had to live through.
Whilst discussing the ration cut with A.O Neville, Jimmy exclaims, Native Protector, couldn t
protect my dog from fleas. This is implying that Neville is useless at his job, as, if he is unable to
protect a dog, how is he meant to protect people. Also, by referencing dogs and fleas, Jimmy is
explaining how the Aboriginals felt as though white society saw them as animals. Jimmy s tone
throughout this scene is very direct, as Neville tends to be supercilious over the Aboriginals. When
Jimmy goes to Neville s office in Perth to request a train ticket to Northam, he engages in an
argument with Neville. When asking what he was doing in Perth, Jimmy bluntly replies, Mindin
my own bloody business. This infers how the Aboriginals lives were none of the White people s
business and they should not have interfered and attempted to assimilate them. The use of
alliteration of the words bloody and business draws the readers attention to this section of the quote,
and highlights the fact that Jimmy wants nothing to do with the white people and just wants to live
his life in peace. The dialogue, tone

Explain Why Some Working At Home Are More Productive Than...
91 Percent of People Who Work at Home Are More Productive Than at Work When the idea of
working remotely comes up in a conversation, I find that people tend to respond in one of two
ways: total dread or utter delight. Some professionals recall the risks and difficulties of working
away from the office, while others rave about having the flexibility to create their own schedule
and work environment. Regardless of how you work best and where you personally stand on the
topic, it s worth considering the benefits of offering remote working opportunities to your team

productivity and build trust within your team. In fact, in a 2016 survey of American remote

alarming mood for the viewers the lighting helped entail this by giving dark, hair raising lighting.

Analysis Of The Policy Issue
Analysis of the policy issue The largest limitation for the District s determination for achieving
financial stability is the inequality in funding of special education students that is supposed to be
financed by the District to charter schools. This cost is relatively and consistently higher than the
costof those services which are offered by charter schools to special educationstudents. This cost is
also higher than the cost paid by any other District pays for the services of special education
students in similar charter schools. This inconsiderably unfair payment of special education has
made the District to get into financial turmoil and distress. As at now, the rate for special
education tuition is supposed to be based on the expenditures of the District on special education,
less federal expenditures and then divided by sixteen percent of District s Average Daily
Membership. The sixteen percent is basically a representation of those students with disabilities
and students in special programs across the state, between 1994 and 1995. This formula is based on
a hypothetical assumption that the percentage of special education students in a school district is
the average percentage statewide. In this way the formula is a distortion of the efforts of the district
s efforts of achieving proportionality in making payments. The real approximation percentage of
special education students in the District is 24 percent. In addition, the add on rate of $29,632.13

try to fix these issues. I also spoke about my concern over the parents behavior. I stated that I was
disappointed that parents were acting this way and that I felt that the situation was inappropriate. I
also expressed concern that my player had felt threatened to have an upset parent approach her
while she was officiating. After speaking with her, I returned to the gym as we had to play Howard
Lake.
We played Howard Lake and won the first set. When we were about 13 points into the second
match, I had another Northern Impact parent approach me while we were playing a match, when
we weren t playing their team, and accuse my girls of making racist and threatening comments to a
Northern Impact player. I know that this is untrue simply by the fact that both Chad and I were by
the girls the entire match and would have heard any interaction that would have taken place. I told
the parent that this was neither the appropriate place or time to be having this discussion and I
would happily discuss her concerns after our match. She continued to yell at me

The Belief Of God, And The Faith
Many individuals question the belief of God, and the faith that so many people place in Him.
What is not recognized is that people place their faith in others and in things of this world on a
day to day basis. When we get into a car, a plane or a boat we trust and believing that this vehicle,
pilot and this captain is going to take us to the destination we are trying to reach, we think the
person behind the wheel has the power to get us there. It is not us who can take us to our
endpoint, but God who allows us to get there. There is no easy route to where we are going; no
gps can take us to the path of salvation. The only way to our endpoint, landing pad or treasure is
through Faith. Faith in the Father, son and The Holy Spirit. If someone felt in their heart that they
would like to accept Jesusas their personal savior, I know that He will welcome them with love,
mercy and opened arms and they shall be saved. His love, mercy, and Salvation are sufficient for all.
God s love is expressed in the bible in numerous ways. God has shown me His love in a number of
ways, and I am forever grateful of his ultimate sacrifice, His one and only son Jesus (John 3:16).
Love is an action verb. It is a decision and an act that can be performed to positively impact the
lives of others. The apostle John said, By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you
love one another (John 13:35) (Weider Guitierrez, 2013). Jesus carried the cross because of his
great love for us

The Day My Family And I Moved
Fifteenth May 2014: The day my family and I moved from Chicago to London because of my
Dads promotion. I was enraged about the move though, my family were filled with outright awe.
The thought of moving to London, trying new cultures and meeting new individuals tempted them
to moving. School: Their accent and uniform everything was odd. My brother then again
delighted in finding another nation and way of life, so he fitted in superbly. Every second was
hell and the hall possessed an aroma similar to stagnant body odor. My list of issues were endless:

The Effects Of All Types Of Stimuli On Teenagers Essay
Cassandra Randall

Final Paper
Professor Sloan
Soc 111: Social Research
Psychological and Sociological studies have examined the impact of all types of stimuli on
Teenagers/Youths criminal behavior like Peer pressure, Parental Attitudes (not caring), Dropping
out of School, Drinking, Drugs, and Yes, Violent Video Games. In the Criminal Justice world, the
teenage brain itself has been cited as a reason to end Solitary confinement for Adolescents and
teenagers not to mention the abolition of both life sentences and the death penalty for Juveniles.
What are the Causes and Effects that makes Youths get into such Deviance Behavior?
When a Youth commits a serious crime, the first responses generally fall into three categories:
Call the Police to make an arrest
Complaints that the City Government is not doing enough to protect the public
Questions about what caused the perpetrator to go do wrong
Youth poverty, not youth biology is the most to blame for youth crime. Also their environment.
Within every race and community youths suffer poverty rated two to three times higher than older
adults do. It is astonishing that researchers have complied theories and claims about youths:
Risk Taking
Impulsiveness
Brain Deficiencies
Crime Proneness
Without examining whether these are due to young people s low socioeconomic status, not young
age. Poverty and crime has a very close relationship that has been describe by professionals from all

Disagreements During Ww1
From who stole the cookie from the cookie jar to who started World War I, disagreements
immensely affect the lives of everyone no matter what the topic deals with. Certainly, every war is
caused by disagreements throughout countries including World War II and the Civil war that
resulted after World War I. Arguments begin because people want their way. This even includes
specific tribes and nationalities in the world wanting their rights and own ways of life. Countries
need to stand up for their rights and ways of life just like people individually, which usually leads
to disagreements because everyone wants something different. Conflict arises between regions for a
great amount of reasons. Because of conflict involving unbalanced power is Europe, World War I
was created. Tension throughout countries in Europe began to rise in time because of instability

For example, the Al Qaeda terrorist group represents itself extremely patriotic. They stand for
what they want and fight for their rights. Although Al Qaeda is known to be negatively effective,
they follow the same path that countries took during World War I. They are especially
nationalistic for the reason that they have their own separate beliefs from other countries.
Because they represent themselves with different beliefs, they cause a great deal of conflict
between the countries of the world much like how World War I was started. Al Qaeda is also
merely powerful in behalf of their population and weaponry which scares a load of people in the
world. Citizens, much like in World War I, fill with fear of this overpowering control. Despite the
fact they come from a different time era, Al Qaeda and European countries from the war share a
ton of similarities. Because of overpowering military, decreased freedom, and overbearing
nationalism between any countries, little arguments eventually turn into

Essay On Social Media App
According to an estimate, the number of worldwide social media users in 2017 reached 1.96
billion. Of those users, 30 50 million are Tumblr users. Tumblr is an app where users can follow
people and find posts they love from all over the world. Tumblr is best described as a modern
society blog and can be found on most smartphone application, for short app, downloaders. The
purpose of a social media app is to aid in the convenience of social interactions between people
throughout the world. In order for an app to achieve this purpose, it must have a straightforward set
up, effortless operation, widely operated, and includes specific features that would improve the
quality and accessibility of the app. On a ten number scale, Tumblr would... Show more content on

media. With a big white t laid out across a navy blue background, Tumblr s app design gives off a
very calming sensation. The design of the app fits the general purpose where users can be
carefree and treat their accounts as a blog and save posts from other users (very similar to
Pinterest). Tumblr also guides users who are first setting up their accounts through a series of
instructions that will benefit their overall experience. After downloading the app, two options are
shown when Tumblr is first opened: sign in and sign up. If one is a first time user of the app, the
would click sign up, but if they already had an existing account, they would choose the sign in
option. After clicking sign up for first time users, one is required to fill out their personal
information to set up an account. This process usually takes about three to five minutes. Once
users have completed the signup information, the homepage is displayed. Included on the
homepage are the news feed, tab bar, profile, and settings. The news feed is organized by the
most recent post of the people one follows. The tab symbols are also very straightforward and
effectively organized in a horizontal bar across the bottom of each page

Far Left Model Of Wealth Inequality
The problem with the really far left model, involving equal work and equal distribution, has
already been discussed in depth by many, so I will only cover it briefly. I suppose that it once
seemed like a better alternative to capitalism gone wild (it prevents the wealth gap and the
consequent abuse of the $ owned government), but the society based on this model quickly
collapses. Look at Communist China, Cuba, or to a certain extent, today s Europe. Europe is
still great, but the cracks are starting to show. The two major reasons are 1.) Socialism
discourages work and effort by shifting consequences (positive and negative) onto others. 2.)
Socialism restricts freedom of the individual. I ll begin by addressing the first. By having a
security net so secure that it s easier to not work than to work, nobody (well, few) will work. In a
future world of more resources, perhaps that will become possible. But we are not even close to
being there yet, and this system is unsustainable as it takes from those who would advance society
and gives to those who don t.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I mean in the sense of its function in a developing society.). Why work your hide off to drag
along those who are just kicking back? This system encourages laziness, and after a while even
those who naturally would work will stop because of their unjust load. This problem with
socialism has a solution: move towards the center. By arranging society so that those who work
harder, smarter, more creatively, and more productively are rewarded, all of society will
ultimately benefit from their advances. If a safety net is retained, and it should be, downward
spirals can be prevented and a basic standard of living can be available to

Essay On Voting Rights
Without a doubt voting rights have grown since their first implications in the beginning of this
democracy. In the beginning the only person who were able to vote and be part of the government
were white protestant male. However, that would of course change after the Voting Rights Act that
was signed into order by President Lyndon Johnson that would remove discriminating factors used
on African Americans due to the fact that it was unconstitutional under the firth teen amendment.
Some of the discriminating factors that were used were laws passed on by the jim crow laws that
included literacy test, or trick questions that had to be answered as well as polltaxes all which kept
the lower class and minorities from having a vote in what they believe in. However, minorities
were not the only ones left outside of the votingprecincts women would also not have the right to
vote until the women s suffragemovement that would lead into the 19 Amendment which gave
everybody a right to vote regardless of gender. Although, this was a merely 90 years ago in the
1920 s which is a considerable small amount of time considering our form of government isn t
that old. Even with all these ratifications of forming new laws to make everything equal
regardless of race and gender there are still a problem with voting in today s age although the
problems rely more on the technology being used, the access into the polls, as well as a variety of
choice in nominees
There has been various problems with

The Angry Black Man Analysis
The Angry Woman, The Angry Arab, The Angry Black Man. These are labels given to people in
today s society who for speaking out on injustice in the world. Is this fair? Are these individuals
out of line for getting angry at injustice? To explore this topic we will take use an example from
Nora Berenstain s essay Epistemic Exploitation, of a woman named Summer who believes her
department of Philosophy had sexist biased in the decision to reward fellowships to only male
graduate students. She also points out the department is known for covering up issues of sexual
harassmentand harboring perpetrators of sexual harassment, some of which she has personally
experienced. When confiding in a male cohort, Dean, he says her accounts are a
misrepresentation of the department, and that there are, only a few bad apples . Likewise, he
minimizes Summer s points and says she is just upset that she did not win a fellowship from the
department. If Summer were to at this point get angry at the situation, she would be justified in
her anger because of her perspective in the situation, and Dean as a member of the oppressor
group is in the wrong for trying to discredit and perpetuate the gender oppressive environment. To
begin, we should discuss two opposing views on the aptness of anger. A classic stoic argument on
anger comes from the first century roman philosopher Seneca, in his book On Anger. In his first
extract of his book Seneca describes how anger is uncontrollable and therefore useless (Seneca,
101). To support this, in the second extract, Seneca rebukes the argument that anger can be used as
motivation, by stating that he believes virtue and moral outrage at injustice can provide enough
motivation to make change (Seneca, 103). Further, in his third extract, Seneca argues that anger
should not be used as motivation because he believes the very nature of anger is precarious,
therefore untrustworthy. Rather, humans have been equipped with reason for both foreseeing
issues, and to use as motive for change (Seneca, 104). Thus, Seneca says gaining control and
overcoming ones emotions is the only way to live a productive in making change to moral injustice
in the world.
In contrast to Seneca, Amia Srinivasan has an

Introduction
For days, months, years, even decades, the conflict between Israel and Palestine has raged, leaving
thousands of dead in its wake. The Jewish people once lived in the land now known as either
Israel or Palestine. They were forced out in 70 A.D. in what is now known as the Jewish Diaspora
after attempting a revolt against the Romans that, in hindsight, was probably not a good idea. Who
replaced the Jews? Once the Jews were gone, the Palestinians took over the land and lived there
until 1948, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This proves that Israel is a valid place for a Jewish state because God has promised Israel to
Abraham and his descendants. Reason Wrap Up In short, one of the reasons Israel was created
as a Jewish state in 1948 is that in their scriptures say that they have been promised Israel by God.
International support There are two great reasons Zionism or International Support back up the
creation of Israel that I will explain to you, but I m sure there are plenty more. First evidence
The people kept faith with [Israel] throughout their Dispersion (Diaspora) and never ceased to
hope and pray for their return to it, as said in Document B. This shows that Israelis have always
wanted to return and have kept the dream alive and have historical ties to Israel. Second evidence
Also, quoted from Document B is the evidence, The United Nations General Assembly passed a
resolution calling for the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz Israel. Eretz Israel, by the way,
is just Israel by a different name. Moving on, this proves that Israel should have been created as a
Jewish state in 1948

Achilles Refusal To Agamemnon In The Iliad
In book nine of the Iliad, Homer portrays Achilles refusal to Agamemnon as the circumstance of
the Greek world s structure being out of order. A world of system, where many warriors risk their
lives in seek of honor. Swift runner (9.638) Achilles is conscious and aware that the Greek realm is
stagnant and heading to its own doom. Achillesfights hard in battles in the name of mighty king
(9.368) Agamemnon and in returns gets nothing. In addition, he also deeply feels the nihilism of
the Greek culture and its order. Bernard Knox writes, a pattern fixed from the beginning and not

Agamemnon s rage, cowardliness and bad leadership also plays some parts of his refusal. Just
like Helen, Bresies also had an effect on Achilles to judgement to refusing Agamemnon s ransom.
He was in love with her and Agamemnon dishonors him and takes her away and that makes
Achilles angry. In the Iliad, beautiful women are the main reason to war and rage. Achilles has
nothing to lose because son of Atreus (9.369) already took his honor, reputation and his Bresies.

Death Penalty And The Old Testament Essay
Death Penalty according to God in the Old Testament
Christian church has been divided for many controversial topics because of issues such as self
center or lack of a deep analysis of the scriptures. Death penalty is one of those controversial topics
relating the pro life or pro death argument. It is also known as capital punishment, and it is the
ultimate punishment for extreme and sadistic delighting crimes. It is a message stating that there is
a line that has been crossed according to society. In the Old Testament, God gives commands to
cleanse the Earth from sin. However, is it human responsibility and power enough to decide
whether to take a human life? The unjustified power that humans have attributed themselves to
dictate death penalty violates the human existence that should be taken only by Divine Grace.
In their book The Death Penalty Debate, John Howard Yoder, professor of theology at the
University of Notre Dame and H. Wayne House, dean and professor of theology at Western Baptist
College state that there is no doubt that Yahweh encouraged, commanded, and personally enforced
the death penalty during the Old Testament era (35). Deuteronomy 9:13, for example, commands to
purge the evil from among Human, leading a belief that in order to aid the Earth, justice must be
taken with humans own hands. However, basing the legal system on this passage, everyone would
think that it is a commandment from God not to accept any unpardonable crime. Purification of

Cressman was born in 1897, in rural Pennsylvania, where his family taught him to value education

although he was never called out. When he got out of the military he went to Graduate school at

It was a war between the Native American and the white settlers. The war took place near
Klamath County by the Oregon and California border. One of the big players in this war was
Ben Wright; he made the decision to execute as many Modoc people as possible. He led them in
to the Native Americans village, waving a white peace flag and then turned around, shooting at
them. This resulted in the deaths of thirty Native Americans. This was not the only time the peace
flag was misused during the war; the Native Americans also returned the favor. The lava field
were used as protection, the lave tubes were used as trenches and the caves provided shelter. The
Native Americans went through a lot during this time from the war to having their reservations

Tower Bridge Research Paper
London is iconic for many things Big Ben, red telephone booths, double decker buses, and
Tower Bridge. Built in 1884, Tower Bridge a staple of London. Pryor to the building of Tower
Bridge, London Bridge was the only way to cross the Thames river. By the nineteenth century,
the population of London had grown much too large for one bridge, however there was a
challenge as to how to build the bridge without disrupting river traffic. In 1876 a Special Bridge
Committee was formed to oversee the designing and building of the bridge. The committee
decided to open the designing up for public competition. Over fifty designs were submitted and
the committee filtered through them until they discovered one that they liked. The chosen
design was created by Horace Jones, the city architect, and John Wolfe Barry ( Bridge History ).
Construction began in October of 1884. Two gigantic piers were driven into the river bed to
support the eleven thousand tons of steel and granite that were used to construct Tower Bridge.
The project took eight years, five contractors, and over four hundred thirty construction workers
every day to complete. When it was first completed, Tower Bridge was the most largest and most
complex bascule bridge ever built. The large bascules were raised and lowered by large hydraulic
cylinders that were powered by massive steam engines and boilers. The bridge remained this way
until 1976 when it was updated to be ran with oil and electricity ( History of Tower Bridge ).

  • 3. Importance Of Learning A Secondary Language I believe that learning a secondary language is necessary to get where you want to go in life. For most people that have jobs there is always going to be a customer or another co worker that speaks a different language than you. You should learn a different language for traveling purposes so if you wantto go to a different country you will know the main languagein that country. Learning a different language is good to know to make friends living in other places that know a different language than you. Knowing a secondary language is a graduation requirement and can even help you improve your test scores. The first reason you should learn different languages other than your first language is because, you may need to know it for your job. When you get a job there could be customers that may be speaking a different language and you will not know how to help them. There could be a person that is deaf and you will not be able to help them find what they are looking for and help them to your best ability. Don t you want to be the person that is able to help people speaking a different language? You do not want to end up in the situation where you need to look for a co working to help what the customer is trying to say to you or ask of you. You should learn another language to open up a world of job opportunities. For example, when I get my future job as a large animal vet my main secondary languages that I will need to know are spanish and especially since we live in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Akira decided not to use dramatic irony but instead he decided that we were not going to know the same things that the characters did not know, the characters and the audience did not know who s story was true. • 5. How Does Frost Use Symbols In Robert Frost Frost first illustrates the use of symbolism through the bending of the birches in order to allude to a freedom from reality. In this manner, he begins by imagining that the shapes and bends of the birch trees were caused by a young boy climbing and swinging gleefully upon the trunks; as he once did. This moment of nostalgia allows him to reflect to his childhood, wistfully wishing to return to a more carefree time where he too was a kicker of branches. To emphasize this idea, he goes on to compare the climbing of the thick wood trunks, to attempting to reach up towards heaven. As a result of this, Frost desperately wishes to escape from the ground, and in a sense, the real world. In spite of this, his wistful thinking is broken when he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The French Revolution effected the way Europeans used to think giving of the sense of hope and liberty from monarch s or nobles. Thanks to the theories of radical journalists and politicians whom started to publish their thoughts about the French monarchy government, and the leaders of the corrupted government people started to speak more freely about the aristocrat class. One Jean Paul Marathad been one of those journalists who would speak and write his thoughts about the French monarchy he played a very important role in the making of the French Revolution. As a result, Marta s death grams the attention of two artists that try to capture the moment of Marat s death by drawing a portrait of his death. The first artist to draw a portrait of Marat s death was a French artist Jacques Louis David in 1793 who named the painting The Death of Marat. She was taken into a local hospital where she was treated for dehydration for minor cuts. The medical staff contacted me to see if we could set up an appointment to meet with one another. Maggie is a twenty one year old, Caucasian female. During my first meeting with her, I noted that Maggie was a very beautiful young lady although she looked very tired, there were dark circles under her eyes, and her hair was greasy as if she had not bathed in days, she was thin, and there were bruises covering her body. Maggie s was currently working as a prostitution. Maggie comes from a very strained family life, living in poverty. She lives in a horrific tenement in the Bowery neighborhood of New York s Lower East Side, with her two younger brothers, Jimmie and Tommie. Jimmie is hardened against any sympathy due to the years he spent on the streets fighting with gangs and is currently working as a truck driver. Tommie was the infant of the family who passed away at a young age. The tenement is filled with argumentative feelings amongst her parents. Mary Johnson, Maggie s mother, is an alcoholic and very aggressive. She has been noted for torturing Maggie with hateful words over actions that she has done. • 14. Community Is Unity It s The Foundation For All The People Community is unity it s people coming together as one to support different ideologies and to create a sense of togetherness in a group. Community is important because it s the foundation for all the people that live in it. Without that sense of unity and togetherness there will be disfunction not only within that community but with the people that reside in that community. There is a relationship between the people and the community because the people are what make that community either prosper or become dysfunctional. For example if a community is dysfunctional it s because the people within that community are not coming together to create that sense of unity. In order for a community to be vibrant and prosper the people within it have to seek each other out and create that bond, that sense of wholeness which will then make that community be vibrant and not dysfunctional. A community being vibrant or dysfunctional is based on the people, individuals are shaped by the community in which they live in based off how that community is set up. Meaning if the community is not stable it will reflect through the people and vice versa. Within my community I play the role of being a leader, this is important because no matter the form of community my presence helps create that sense of unity and leadership.A community being vibrant and dysfunctional is all dependent on the people. This problem is also more devastating than most people realize. We waste billions of dollars of food and the amount of food that just the united states wastes in one year could fill 730 football stadiums. This food wastealso is hurting the environment in a major way, increasing our CO2 levels exponentially. All of this food that we waste could be going to serving the homeless and starving. Even if people understood that food would still not get to people who need it because getting the food to the hungry and to shelters and the poor is not cheap for the suppliers and is actually cheaper for them to just throw it away. That might be the biggest issue of all because for businesses to donate food is very expensive, they have to box it, store it, coordinate delivery dates, and there s a lot of overheads, and you cannot blame most companies for trying to make ends meat. Companies are also not charities, which is why companies should be incentivized to donate food with tax breaks, large corporations already get one, charity s get them and it would increase the amount of food that s being donated exponentially. Especially for small companies because annoyingly small companies tax breaks are not a permanent part of the tax code. This means that Congress has to keep renewing it which is a problem, because family farms and local restaurants may not know if they re going to get that break and the end of the year. So donating food might not be financially viable for them. IT s a ridiculous system that prevents a lot of food from being donated. Summary Of The Trial Of Bessie Dunlop In Witch, Fairy and Folktale Narratives in the Trial of Bessie Dunlop , Henderson uses primary sources like Bessie Dunlop s confession, which allows Henderson to link Bessie s case as one of the earliest and most descriptive accounts that involve fairy encounters. Another confession that Henderson provides is that of Janet Boyman of Edinburgh, who was accused of raising evil spirits at a fairy well to learn how to heal the sick. Sources such as confessions provide readers with direct evidence that witches did in fact exist and the context in which witch trials and executions occurred. Another source used by Henderson are witch testimonies, such as those found in Malleus Maleficarum (1480) which provides accounts of witchcraftin South West Germany. • 20. The Pros And Cons Of Child Rearing One of the most heavily debated aspects of abuse when it comes to child rearing is defining what abuse is relative to the cultural traditions of a society. More particularly, these cultural specific patterns of child rearing have been one of the most controversial topics in terms of child abuse because what might seem as abusive for some cultures might not exactly be seen as such in another (Bornstein, 1991). A good example of this type of duality would be the difference between Western and Eastern Standards of child rearing and control. In the United States, spanking and badmouthing is considered to be abusive in the sense that policies have even been established to mitigate these behaviors from the parents. However, in countries like the Philippines, Vietnam, and China, among others, spanking and use of bad words are considered to be normal as long as it is within acceptable limits (e.g. not inflicting grave injuries and permanent marks). Nevertheless, contrary to what the western perspective thinks about the use of intense physical and verbal means of rearing the child, children in the East are not exactly those how would experience psychological abuseor other types of emotional repercussions, because in the first place they know exactly what the is the purpose of acts like this. Now, this poses the question, if child rearing is relative, what would be considered as abusive and not, especially in terms of the verbal and psychological aspects of it. According to Pingleton ... • 21. Lily Owens Character Analysis Lily Owens is a teenage girl who wishes her life was different. At the age of four Lily s mother died after being shot. Everyday she wishes her mother would be there to protect her from an abusive father and a miserable life. Lily s mother left very few possessions behind, only a picture and a mason jar. These items allowed Lily to feel safe. The memory of her motherhelped her face each trial. She spent much of her life searching for a mother figure and recreating her mother s story. Lily longed for love and attention, something her father and caregiver, Rosaleen couldn t seem to give her. The reality was that Lily lived in a time that segregation was intact and John Fitzgerald Kennedy was trying to launch rockets to the moon. The author used symbolism, for example space, to show the lost nature of Lily s character. Fourteen and my life went spinning off into a whole new orbit (1). Lost in thought, Lily always was thinking about what would happen if her mother was around. She was forced to follow her father s orders or she would be hit or shoved. This made her want to create as much distance between her and her father as possible. On the back of her mother s picture it said Tiburon, South Carolina. Maybe in Tiburon she could have a better life and bring her closer to her mother? Lily and Rosaleen hatched a plan to escape. As they left town they were confronted by a group of white men. Rosaleen spat on their shoes in protest of her rights. Then she was beaten up and sent to jail. T. Ray (Lily s father) was furious! At this pivotal moment Lily knew she must leave. Confidence grew throughout Lily, she got Rosaleen out of the hospital and left to Tiburon. Before she left she gave T. Ray a note saying, Dear T. Ray don t bother looking for me. Lily P.S. People who tell lies like you should rot in hell (42). This is a major turning point in this book because Lily had never stood up to her father like that. In addition, the increased speed and weight of fuel powered vehicles generally lead to higher speed collisions, causing greater damage to the collided vehicles, and a greater degree of safety concerns needs to be taken into account. However, nitro vehicles are more durable due to stronger components to sustain the greater stresses of more power. Gas powered models Gasoline powered vehicles, also known as fuelies or gassers , run on premixed gasoline and oil. They cost much more (usually $1000 $3000 RTR) than nitro and electric cars. They are also much bigger and therefore require much more space to run. They don t usually have high top end speeds (compared to nitro and some electrics) but have lots of power and don t take a lot of fuel to run. Over time the cost of a gas powered car can be less than some nitro powered vehicles, because of the high cost of nitro fuel and buying new nitro engines to replace worn out ones. In addition, gas powered motors rarely if ever require tuning and have a very long lifespan. These large scale models have been popular in Europe for over a decade. • 26. Balance Error Scoring System Dizziness and/or imbalance are common symptoms for athletes sustaining a concussion [1 5]. It is speculated that the acute symptoms of dizziness and/or imbalance experienced in these athletes is not actually a peripheral vestibular dysfunction (i.e., inner ear), but rather a central disruption between the vestibular system and the pathways for vision, known as a visual vestibular interaction mismatch [6 8]. This mismatch can lead to decreased gaze stability with head movements and may result in common symptom complaints of blurred vision or diplopia [9 10]. Athlete reported symptoms are a large portion of the concussionassessment battery; however, it is well known that athletes under report symptoms [11 12]. Thus, determining objective and accurate measures to help determine safe return to play on the sideline and during the return to play progression protocol appears to be a necessary task for health care professionals. Currently, balance function is most commonly assessed with a postural control measure known as the Balance Error Scoring System (BESS), which indirectly assesses vestibular sensory input. One limitation of this measure is the lack of information regarding the functional use of the visual vestibular system, specifically the vestibulo ocular reflex (VOR). Analysis Of Jack Davis s Rabbit Proof Fence The 1985 play, No Sugar, written by Jack Davis, exposes the cruel treatment towards Aboriginals during the Great Depression, from the point of view of Jimmy. Similarly, Rabbit Proof Fence, the 2002 historical drama film further conveys this harsh treatment but from the contrasting point of view of Molly. Both the point of views explored support related purposes and evoke the same responses from the audience. Generic conventions including, dramatic techniques, mise en scene, flashbacks and dialogue aid the directors in highlighting the main purposes of informing the readers of the Aboriginals side of the story, and to provoke an empathetic response from the viewers. Jack Davis play, No Sugar, utilises a variety of dramatic techniques in order to explain to audience the that there are two sides to every story. Many people only know the European Settlers story, but Davis play aims to expose the oppression the Aboriginals experience during the 1930 s. From the point of view of Jimmy Munday, the main force behind the Aboriginals rebellion, we are able to understand the hardships the Indigenous people had to live through. Whilst discussing the ration cut with A.O Neville, Jimmy exclaims, Native Protector, couldn t protect my dog from fleas. This is implying that Neville is useless at his job, as, if he is unable to protect a dog, how is he meant to protect people. Also, by referencing dogs and fleas, Jimmy is explaining how the Aboriginals felt as though white society saw them as animals. Jimmy s tone throughout this scene is very direct, as Neville tends to be supercilious over the Aboriginals. When Jimmy goes to Neville s office in Perth to request a train ticket to Northam, he engages in an argument with Neville. When asking what he was doing in Perth, Jimmy bluntly replies, Mindin my own bloody business. This infers how the Aboriginals lives were none of the White people s business and they should not have interfered and attempted to assimilate them. The use of alliteration of the words bloody and business draws the readers attention to this section of the quote, and highlights the fact that Jimmy wants nothing to do with the white people and just wants to live his life in peace. The lighting changed based off what the mood corresponded for example, some scenes had a copacetic or pleasant mood. In the beginning, the scene was a very formidable scene. The lighting was dark which portrayed fear towards the audience. The mood was implying fear and almost an alarming mood for the viewers the lighting helped entail this by giving dark, hair raising lighting. Analysis Of The Policy Issue Analysis of the policy issue The largest limitation for the District s determination for achieving financial stability is the inequality in funding of special education students that is supposed to be financed by the District to charter schools. This cost is relatively and consistently higher than the costof those services which are offered by charter schools to special educationstudents. This cost is also higher than the cost paid by any other District pays for the services of special education students in similar charter schools. This inconsiderably unfair payment of special education has made the District to get into financial turmoil and distress. As at now, the rate for special education tuition is supposed to be based on the expenditures of the District on special education, less federal expenditures and then divided by sixteen percent of District s Average Daily Membership. The sixteen percent is basically a representation of those students with disabilities and students in special programs across the state, between 1994 and 1995. This formula is based on a hypothetical assumption that the percentage of special education students in a school district is the average percentage statewide. I suppose that it once seemed like a better alternative to capitalism gone wild (it prevents the wealth gap and the consequent abuse of the $ owned government), but the society based on this model quickly collapses. Look at Communist China, Cuba, or to a certain extent, today s Europe. Europe is still great, but the cracks are starting to show. The two major reasons are 1.) Socialism discourages work and effort by shifting consequences (positive and negative) onto others. 2.) Socialism restricts freedom of the individual. I ll begin by addressing the first. By having a security net so secure that it s easier to not work than to work, nobody (well, few) will work. In a future world of more resources, perhaps that will become possible. Is this fair? Are these individuals out of line for getting angry at injustice? To explore this topic we will take use an example from Nora Berenstain s essay Epistemic Exploitation, of a woman named Summer who believes her department of Philosophy had sexist biased in the decision to reward fellowships to only male graduate students. She also points out the department is known for covering up issues of sexual harassmentand harboring perpetrators of sexual harassment, some of which she has personally experienced. When confiding in a male cohort, Dean, he says her accounts are a misrepresentation of the department, and that there are, only a few bad apples . Likewise, he minimizes Summer s points and says she is just upset that she did not win a fellowship from the department. If Summer were to at this point get angry at the situation, she would be justified in her anger because of her perspective in the situation, and Dean as a member of the oppressor group is in the wrong for trying to discredit and perpetuate the gender oppressive environment. To begin, we should discuss two opposing views on the aptness of anger. A classic stoic argument on anger comes from the first century roman philosopher Seneca, in his book On Anger. In his first extract of his book Seneca describes how anger is uncontrollable and therefore useless (Seneca, 101). To support this, in the second extract, Seneca rebukes the argument that anger can be used as motivation, by stating that he believes virtue and moral outrage at injustice can provide enough motivation to make change (Seneca, 103). Further, in his third extract, Seneca argues that anger should not be used as motivation because he believes the very nature of anger is precarious, therefore untrustworthy. Rather, humans have been equipped with reason for both foreseeing issues, and to use as motive for change (Seneca, 104). Thus, Seneca says gaining control and overcoming ones emotions is the only way to live a productive in making change to moral injustice in the world. In contrast to Seneca, Amia Srinivasan has an ... The bridge remained this way until 1976 when it was updated to be ran with oil and electricity ( History of Tower Bridge ). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
