2. Snakehead Book Essay
Snakehead By Anthony Horowitz Snakehead is the seventh book in the Alex Rider
series, one of my all time favorites. To give a little background to the series Alex
Rider, a teenage spy, works undercover using his age as the perfect cover to do
tedious missions. In this particular mission Alex was contacted by the Australian
Secret Service to go undercover and investigate a smuggling group from Asia called
Snakehead. This group is known to the Australian Secret Service as way to smuggle
immigrants into Australia and they feel that Alex can help identify the major players
in the organization. This would enable them to crack down on the organization and
stop the illegal smuggling. During the time that Alex was contacted about the job to
go undercover,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were secretly planning the assassination of eight celebrities and they were
planning to use the bomb to do so. It just so happened that the leader of Snakehead,
Winston Yu, was also a member of Scorpia and the leader in the assassination plot.
To begin the mission Alex has to go to Bangkok to meet up with his partner Ash
who is an old family friend. He was Alex s father s friend from when his father was
also involved in the spy business. The plan was to dress as immigrants and
immerse themselves in the crowd to learn more about the Snakehead culture and
leaders. Alex was taken to a boxing arena by the Snakehead and is made to fight in
the arena against the best fighter and eventually beats him which causes a huge
commotion and eventually a riot. He quickly escapes using his skills that he has
learned in the field during previous missions. He did not realize it but someone had
also help start the riot to make a diversion for him to escape. It was a member of
MI6 which is the organization that normally hires Alex to spy out of London,
England. They have gotten wind of the bomb Royal Blue , and have tied it to
Winston Yu. They give him a few special gadgets that

Grand Theft Auto is a title that everyone knows. It s the name of a series of games
that helped define a generation, and in the 12 years since the third core game in the
series helped push gaming into a larger spotlight.
Gaming has changed though. It s been five years since GTA IV burst onto the
scene, and in that gap between major GTA sequels, the genre has evolved. GTA V
proves that it has what it takes to not only still be relevant , but to take survival of
the fittest to a new level. It s the kind of game that knows it comes from an older
generation. But instead of trying to recapture that youth, GTA V instead runs with it
and embraces that theme of old dogs staying true to form and celebrating what makes

It s also all part of the new stealth system, which may not be Metal Gear or Splinter

though, cops seem to react a little too quickly to events. Punching a hobo by accident
earned me three squad cars on my ass and a shotgun to the face, while trying to cause
some destruction in a remote location had all manner of hell descend upon me from
the thin blue line.
Missions are also now graded as players work their way through them. Finishing a
level without hitting any of the goals available will earn you a bronze medal,
while going back to get those extra headshots and timely exits nets you silver and

4. Sovereignty In The Wife Of Bath s Tale
A Wife s Sovereignty
A happy wife is a happy life. This saying has been used for decades by both
husbands and wives. When thinking about it, it makes sense. If a woman is happy
with her marriage, then she treats her husband better, which has a good influence on
his life as a whole. Sometimes it takes men going through obstacles to realize this. In
the Wife of Bath s Tale the knight goes through many difficulties to finally change
and give his bride sovereignty; the Wife of Bath s Tale corresponds with the beliefs
discussed in her prologue.
In the beginning of the Wife of Bath s Tale, the knight is not a likable character. He
sees a young maiden walking and rapes her. This is so shocking to readers because
knights are known for their chivalric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, mastery and sovereignty are constantly used throughout the prologue.
According to her, a happy marriage is a marriage where the wife has complete
control. The Wife accuses husbands of trying to restrict her liberty. She feels that her
husband s riches are also her riches. It is my good as wel as thyn, pardee! (310).
According to her, a wife will not love a man who tries to control her. She had five
husbands and she gained sovereignty from them all. Sadly, everytime she gained
control over a husband, he would die. Although the first three were easier, the wife
gained control of them all. The fourth husband was hard to dominate, for he kept a
mistress. The Wife brags about her false accusations, explaining how she gained
sovereignty with her lies. After being out all night she would claim she was spying
on her lovers. They were ful glade to excuse hem blyve/ Of thyng of which they
nevere agilte hir lyve/ Of wenches wolde I beren hem on honde (391 393). She was
good at manipulating the men into doing what she wanted. The fifth husband,
twenty years her junior, gave her sovereignty after he hit her and she pretended to
be dead. He promised he would grant her desires if she lived. Even after having five
husbands, she is ready to marry
5. The Risks Of A Risk Assessment
Every institute is confronted with certain hazard or probable menace that could cause
an intermission to the administration s procedures. These hazards and intimidation
can come from inside or external of the association. To prepare for the foulest that
could occur, administrations must emphasis their responsiveness on how to evaluate
diverse types of perils to guard the society against the conceivable undesirable effects
to the diurnal processes. Execution of a riskvaluation is one of the most imperative
phases in the risk managing procedure (Goldenberg 2011).
A Risk Assessment is intermittent valuation of the hazard and degree of the damage
that could result from the unsanctioned admittance, usage, revelation, disturbance,
alteration, or obliteration of data and material structures that sustain the processes and
properties of the association. The risk assessment must contain a deliberation of the
chief aspects in risk management: the worth of the scheme or submission,
intimidation, susceptibilities, and the efficiency of present or projected safeguards.
Many administrations accomplish risk valuations to ration the quantity of hazards
that could affect their association, and recognize methods to diminish these menaces
before a chief catastrophe occurs. Department of Defense Information Systems
Agency (DISA) monitors strategies and guidelines administered by procedures by
which the association evaluates and accomplishes coverage to hazards.

6. Review of the Film Adaptation of The Butcher Boy Essay
Review of the Film Adaptation of The Butcher Boy The butcher boy was made
into a film adaptation in 1997 by Neill Jordan and author of the original book
Patrick McCabe. The Novel was highly praised and controversial. Many saw it as
the best account of Irish childhood. Its time frame is reminiscent of the early 1960
s. It is about a young boy called Francie Brady who becomes isolated from reality
and eventually commit s the ultimate sin of murder from this isolation he is
experiencing. He is the victim of a dysfunctional family and of the effects of
modernization in Ireland at this time and we soon realize that he has been raised in
an atmosphere of inhumanity. Both Novel and filmcover themes such as... Show more

Most importantly the film uses a lot of comedy which carries off very well in the
film as it did in the novel. As in McCabe s book, the film is not just a story about
social victims in 1960 s Ireland but a story that explores a society through the eyes
of a child called Francie Brady in a time of modernisation . The setting of The
Butcher Boy was in Clones Co.Monaghan. Jordan decided to have the characters
also speak in a Monaghan accent which mirrored McCabe s. As this was a film to
be set in the accents of Monaghan all the actors who were not native speakers went
to considerable trouble to master this tongue .# Not only was Jordan bringing this
mainstream film production to Ireland but to Monaghan. This was a boost for any
town or city to get the chance to be in a blockbuster and For McCabe, it was a
remarkable experience to return to his home town with a motion picture crew in
tow # The setting of the film was a very important aspect of the movie in my
opinion because if Jordan failed to pick a place as ideal as McCabe s hometown
then it might have been too outside the domain of the novel and may not have
worked as perfect as it did. The fact that Jordan went with Monaghan as the location
of the film shows just how close he wanted to get to the novel and to the writer. It
would have been just as easy to keep all the filming in Dublin or Galway and without

7. Effects Of Colonization On Indigenous People
Imagine having your identity and culture stripped away from you. This is what has
happened to many Indigenous people throughout history in Canada. This has been
done through the process of colonization. There are many devastating impacts of
colonization that has affected Indigenous people all over Canada including racism
and stereotyping as well as the downfall of the health of Indigenous people. Racism
against Indigenous people has been a major impact of colonialismthroughout the
years. The racism and institutionalized racism has grown over the years and has made
it complicated for many Indigenous people to practice their spirituality and culture.
There are also many health consequences of colonization including starvation,
disease, mental illness and addiction. There are many impacts of colonization that
have affected Indigenous people throughout history and continue to impact them
today.
Racism is very prevalent in today s society against Indigenous people in Canada.
They face many forms of individual and institutionalized racism. According to
LaRocque, Racism is prejudice or discrimination based on the belief that one or one s
group is innately or genetically superior to another. Racists believe that race
determines qualities such as intelligence, innovation, creativity and even morality
(N.D). People have been taught the stereotypes of Indigenous people whether it be
from the educational system, health system, court system and many other institutions
in Canada.
8. Roles Of Werewolf In Literature
The werewolf is most commonly known as a man that has the ability to change from
a man into a half man half wolf creature. For this to happen the person must have
been bitten by a werewolf, cursed into one, or simply born into the bloodline. The
werewolf originated in the Country of Europe, before the 14th century. Although, it
has also been brought up in Greek Mythology which of course took place before the
14th century. In most cases though, the werewolfhas the same qualities and attributes
no matter what Country it is portrayed in.
The werewolfs first appearance in literature can be quite arguable. In Greek
Mythology, Zeus was said to turn King Lycaon into a wolf man as punishment due
to him eating human flesh and killing children. Others have said however that the
werewolfs first outcome in literature was in The White Wolf of The Hartz
Mountains episode in The Phantom Ship (1839), by Marryat. In this story, it is
actually a demonic woman that has the ability to transform into a wolf. With these
being the first to mention werewolves in literature, there are now tons of other
novels you can choose from that include the werewolf. Some of the most popular
being: The Wolves of Mercy Falls Series, by Maggie Stiefvater, The Mortal
Instrument Series, by Cassandra Clare and the Twilight saga, by Stephenie Meyer....

9. The Kongolese And Christianity In Kongo
For centuries, Africans and their belief systems have been derided. Instead of being
studied as valid and meaningful responses to the universal terms of human existence,
African religions have often been considered exotic objects... peculiar and
incomprehensible or repellent. For many Europeans, Christianitywas by far the
superior religion, and they strove to convert Africans. One kingdom where they
seemed to enjoy success was Kongo. By 1704, the people living there had been
Catholic for six generations nearly two centuries. The Kongolese took great pride in
this, believing that it made them superior to their neighbours. Moreover, both the
Kongolese and the Church took pride in the fact that Christianity had come to Kongo
not through conquest and forced conversion, but through the voluntary conversion of
JoГЈo I. Despite this achievement, though, the Church more the Kongolese had to
practice Catholicism exactly as the Europeans did. With the coming of Dona Beatriz
Kimpa Vita, who claimed to be possessed by Saint Anthony, this conflict would
become more apparent than ever before. Though the Capuchins succeeded in having
Dona Beatriz burnt at the stake, they failed in their ultimate goal of fully converting
the Kongolese to their form of Catholicism.
The knowledge of Catholicism displayed by the Kongolese was impressive. Though
many Europeans wondered about their penchant for such things as sacred stones and
ancestors graves... they never doubted that the

11. Why Hmong Families Left Laos
Hmong families, like the Lees in the novel The Spirit Catches You and You Fall
Down have been immigrating to the United States since the end of the Vietnam
War. The majority of the Hmong living in the U.S. are now located in specific
cities and regions of California, Minnesota, and Wisconsin (Lee and Green 2010).
The Lee family moved to the Merced, California in 1980 and has had to adapt to life
in a new host country (Fadiman 1997). Acculturation is used to describe how the
cultureof immigrants changes over time as they adapt to living in a new country
(Vang 2013). Fadiman s depiction of Nao Kao and Foua Lee s life Merced indicates
the couple resisted shedding any aspects of their culture in favor of Western culture,
which is typical of first generation Hmong living in the United States. This paper will
discuss why Hmong families left Laos, the findings of two acculturation studies of
Hmong living in the United States, and a discussion of possible reason(s) why it has
been difficult for first generation Hmong like Nao Kao and Foua to adapt to life in
the United States.
During the Vietnam War, Hmong soldiers fought on the side of the United States
against the Pathet Lao, the communist faction in the country. When the Vietnam War
ended and the U.S. pulled out of the region, the Pathet Lao took control of Laos and
persecuted the Hmong for being disloyal (Fadiman 1997). Hmong resisted forced
assimilation at the hands of the communist government by fleeing to temporary

13. Comparing The Positive And Negative Outcomes
The positive outcome is protecting the general public, including HCWs and their
families, patients receiving care from these HCWs, from influenza.
The negative outcome is firstly, HCWs lose autonomy to choose whether to receive
vaccination; secondly, the vaccination may not be effective and will create false
impression of protection.
By comparing the positive and negative outcomes, the positive outcome (for the
general public) outweigh negative outcome (for few individual).
The positive outcomes are: protecting the general public, including HCWs and their
families, patients receiving care from HCWs from influenza; the education on flu
prevention, such as hand washing and proper isolation, may be generalized to other
disease prevention for hospital setting; employees will not feel the pressure to
vaccinate against their wills.

14. Gun Control Gun Control
Gun control has been a prevalent issue in the United States since its early years, but
has recently taken the spotlight as one of the most controversial, and debated topics
in the country with the rise of alarming cases and accessible statistics. Because of our
constitution, the right to bear arms has endured throughout the years with little
revision. Republicans tend to argue strongly in favor of this amendment on the basis
of constitutional right and the need for self defense. (Waldman, 2017). However, the
current lax system of background checks requirements for purchase of a firearmhave
contributed to numerous casualties and cannot stand without reform. In 2017 alone,
13,899 deaths have occurred at the expense of a gunin the United... Show more

Because of our current system, individuals with a questionable criminal record, the
mentally unstable, and members of society simply unfit to purchase a gun are able
to take advantage of the second amendment. For example, the Virginia Tech mass
shooting that took place in 2007, as well as the mass shooting at a church in
Charleston South Carolina in 2016 both occurred on the basis of the purchase of a
firearm without a formal background check being issued to the suspect (Chuck,
2015). In both cases, both men held a record that would have been deemed
questionable had a thorough background check been issued. A problem America
faces in making progress for reform is the loss of interest from the American public.
There are sparks in support of firmer gun laws after mass shootings or notable
tragedy s, but this interest fades over time and Congress makes no changes.
According to Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, The thoughts and prayers of
politicians are cruelly hollow if they are paired with continued legislative
indifference, (Bradner, 2017). Those pushing for legislative change are frustrated
with the amount of American lives that need to be lost in order to send a message to
Congress that moves them to action.
In the United States under our current political system, the process of ratifying a bill
15. Literary Terms For The End
Literary Terms for In the End Linkin Park s In the End is a song that many people
can relate to because it is about a situation that everyone has encountered. The
approach Chester uses to describe a hard situation by using the structure,
symbolism and prosody he specifically picks out makes the song catchy and
relatable. The way he forms the song and the words he picked out allows a
depressing moment to become an inspiration for anyone going through hard times.
The most important literary term is structure, this is the beginning layout of the
poem, story or song. This is how the poem is organized it is where the author
decides how the story is to begin, the details that are going to keep the reader
intrigued, the crisis and the climax and the way the poem is to end, the resolution.
Even in the song In the End there is an outline of how it begins and ends. Right
away the author shows that there is a major complication, he has worked hard at
reaching a goal or helping a person and has failed. Then further down in the lyrics
he shows the crisis, where all of the reasons are starting to build up as to why he
has decided not to stay with the other character in the song, he sings reasons like
when you were mocking me, acting like I was your property and fighting all the
time. He even sings about everything has changed and there is no way to bring it
back. He then lines it up with when the chorus hits; we see the resolution of the song.
This part shows the realization that

17. Effects Of The Criminalization Of Alcohol On America...
Introduction
This essay aims to show that if alcohol is legal, cannabis should be also. To do so I
will compare the effects both substances have on the health of their users. I will then
examine how much scientific evidence has been used when criminalizing marijuana
and whether that evidence is still applicable today. Finally, I will analyze the effects
of the criminalization of alcohol in America during the 1920s. I will use this case to
show that the misguided prohibition of alcohol is comparable to the current
marijuana laws. Though the situation was in a different social setting (and I will go
over that as well), I will endeavor to show that, in the same was as it was in 1933,
legalization not only provides a healthier lifestyle for users, but also breaks down the
criminal organizations that profit from it.
Existing Laws in the UK
The current drug laws that are in effect in the UK are those set forth in the Drugs
Misuse Act of 1971. The act separates illegal drugs into A, B and C classes; A
being the most harmful drugs and therefore the most heavily penalised, and C
being the least. Marijuana is currently qualified as a class C drug, after it was
advised by Proffesor Sir Michael Rawlins, Chairman of the Advisory Council on the
Misuse of Drugs, to be reduced from class B in 2002. The report contained a re
examination of the health and social risks of the drug, and within the cover letter
states The council believes that the current classification of cannabis is
18. Advantages Of Direct Democracy
Direct Democracy There is a lot of controversy over which government is the best,
and honestly I don t think there really is a best form of government but I believe
there that some are better than others. Direct Democracy definitely has its flaws, it
is the best option open to us at this time. It gives the people the power to get what
they want. America is already a form of Democracy, it s a Representative Democracy.
So direct Democracyis not too far fetched.
Direct democracy, also known as pure democracy, is where the people vote to on or
form consensus on policy initiatives directly. The word democracy literally means
rule by the people . The United States today is a representative democracy. Which is
a democracy in which the people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From 1995 to 2005 swiss citizens voted over 30 different times, while the french

We want rights, freedom, and equality. But we also need some sort of structure. As
people we need a say in how we live our lives but we cannot just do as we please.
We can t have the government gaining too much power but we need to still be
controlled. Harmony in all aspects is what we are sought after, we want and need
a balance. Direct democracy is a way to get citizens involved and united. It helps
keep the government transparent, you cannot make promises to the people and
then not keep them because you run the risk of the people removing you from
power. It holds everyone accountable, the officials to do what they promised and to
fix the problems within society and the people to keep their government going in
the right direction. The individual is foolish, the species is wise. (Burke). Together
we are better. There are also some pros to having a direct democracy, when the
people want to see change, they appeal and they vote. Which would truly be a
government for the people, by the people , protecting our interests. There is a checks
and balances system that makes sure the power gets distributed. Democracy also
promotes equality, allows for change, doesn t put too much power in the hands
19. Full Disclosure Principle
The full disclosure principle states that any future event that may or will occur, and
thatwill have a material economic impact on the financial position of the business,
should be disclosed to probable and potential readers of the statements. Such
disclosures are most frequently made by footnotes. For example, a hotel should report
the building of a new wing, or the future acquisition of another property. A restaurant
facing a lawsuit from a customer who was injured by tripping over a frayed carpet
edge should disclose the contingency of the lawsuit. Similarly, if accounting practices
of the current financial statementswere changed and differ from those previously
reported, the changes should be disclosed. Changes from one period to the... Show

When firms enter new markets or businesses, the way they structure these new
businesses can result in greater complexity and less transparency. For instance, a firm
that keeps each business separate will be easier to value than one that squeezes all the
businesses into a single entity.
The cause of poor transparency, however, is less important than its effect on a
company s ability to give investors the critical information they need to value their
investments. If investors neither believe nor understand financial statements, the
performance and fundamental value of that company remains either irrelevant or
distorted. Mounting evidence suggests that the market gives a higher value to firms
that are upfront with investors and analysts. Transparency pays, companies with
fuller disclosure win more trust from investors. Relevant and reliable information
means less risk to investors and thus a lower cost of capital, which naturally
translates into higher valuations. Of course, there are two ways to interpret this
evidence. One is that the market rewards more transparent companies with higher
valuations because the risk of unpleasant surprises is believed to be lower. The other
interpretation is that companies with good results usually release their earnings
earlier. Companies that are doing well have nothing to hide and are eager to
publicize their good performance. It is in their best

The doctors could tell if the cells keep mutating or they stop, and they could see if
the cancer cells spread out to the other parts of the body.
The evolution of luciferase begins with the LUC gene. mRNA would copy the LUC
gene in DNA and later go to the cytoplasm to do transcription to form the luciferase.
The reason that this enzyme evolved many times in many organisms is because
luciferase could be connected with the other proteins to track where they are going.
Moreover, there are many organisms that would glow. Luciferase is an important
enzyme that would help the organisms glow. Because the sequence of the amino acid
chain is different, and different luciferase enzyme would be produced. On this
occasion, there would be different color of the light.
This is the genetic mutation happening during the translation. When there is one
amino acid been changed, it would turn into another color. This change causes the
outcome it does because the sequence of the amino acid chains would affect the
color of the light. Although the function of them is the same, but each of them
would have different characteristics. For example, we all have eyes, face, nose.......
although we can tell the functions of them and recognize them easily, however, we
all have different color of eyes and hair, and this is because the sequence of our gene
is different. Therefore, even only one amino acid is changed, the result would be

22. Hamlet Paradoxes In Hamlet
Of all the phrases that are said today, paradoxes take up many of them. William
Shakespeare s, Hamlet: Prince of Denmark, is one that expands the idea of
paradoxes. This play shows a distinct demarcation between purity and corruption.
Shakespeare s character Gertrude is that line. Shakespeare s main goal of Gertrude is
to show that two extreme opposites cannot work in one person. The stark difference
between Gertrude and her son Hamletis their grieving period. Hamlet is obviously
disgusted at how quickly his mother ceases her grieving of her husband. This is the
first example of the life Gertrude lives. She, arguably, should be grieving extremely,
but instead she has moved on. Gertrude encourages Hamlet, Do not forever with thy
vailed lids / seek for thy noble father in the dust. / Thou know st tis common; all that
lives must die, passing through nature to eternity (1.2.70 73). Her actions speak of a
normal death on his behalf. It is natural to live and die. Hamlet is one the... Show

In between the duel, the plot to kill Hamlet goes awry when Gertrude drinks the
poison. Gertrude s last breath is used to say, No, no, the drink, the drink! O, my
dear Hamlet! / The drink, the drink! I am poisoned (5.2.289, 290). It is easy to
write this off as her stating the obvious, but in actuality it is interpreted to mean
that Gertrude finally sees herself. She seees the corruption of Claudius and their
marriage, her husband s death, and her actions. In Franco Zeffirelli s adaption,
Gertrude says, The king, the king has poisoned me. I am poisoned, (Hamlet, 1990).
More than just seeing her own corruption, she sees Claudius too. Gertrude dies and
then a chain reaction of death dies, but before Hamlet dies also he tells Horatio,
Wretched queen adieu, (5.2.312). Once again, Shakespeare speaks on the corrupt
nature of a beautiful woman s exterior. Gertrude s death finally sharpens the line of
her paradoxical
23. Examples Of Deception In The Crucible
While all deception requires secrecy, all secrecy is not meant to deceive. This clear
and concise quote was expressed by Sissela Bok, a Swedish American philosopher
and the daughter of two Nobel Prize winners. See deception is a concept that is
practically glorified lying to grasp an advantage upon something. In The Crucible we
see many depictions of deception. Nearly all coming from Abigail. Abigail is a
decisive teenager who seeks people s pain in order to get her way. Abigail seeks not
only power, but she also seeks the love and marriage of John Proctor. Abigail s
character nature consists of nearly total deception.
Our first example of decisiveness given from Abigail is her first lie. The lie took place
early in the novel and stated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abigail has the troop agree to carry on with the lie, despite the chaos they re
causing throughout the town of Salem. The girls seem to do whatever is needed to
gain power for themselves. An example would be when they re in the court and the
girls simultaneously speak and take part in actions. The girls make it look like one
woman is causing hem to do so, implying she is the witch that bewitched them.
Other examples would include the constant lies the girls displayed in order to
surpass links in the power chain . The girls gain absolute power when they reach
the ability to prosecute anyone who challenges them. Abigail and her troop attempt
to overthrow the court, and when they do they realize anyone who tries to stand in
their way can t impose even the slightest threat. Any refusal will find the citizen as a
culprit in the midst of the court. The girls found ways to corporate protesters with
witchcraft. This led the protester to find themselves hanging by a noose or thrown
behind bars. Once others realized the consequences, they gave up their efforts to
fight Abigail and her troop. Abigail s reign ends when she finally leaves town with

Ever since it has been established there has not been a team with 3 losses in the
top 5. Only one time has there been a two loss team to make it to the National
Championship game. An argument against having a playoff would be that teams
would be rewarded for having an easy strength of schedule and not scheduling
difficult out of conference games. There would not be much reason for a non
power conference teams to schedule difficult games out of conference if it means
more to go undefeated. In NCAA Basketball non major conferences teams that don
t schedule may get unlucky when it comes to making NCAA tournament do to a
lack of strength of Schedule. For conferences such as the Southeastern Conference
and Big 12 which the teams are better should get rewarded by having more difficult
games. A one loss team in the Southeastern Conference shows much more than a
one loss Mountain West conference. This would be unfair to the major
conferences. It was because of this reason that the BCS takes in consideration the
Strength of schedule and quality wins. In 2002 Miami was left out of the title
game even though they beat Florida State head to head and yet Florida State made

Our next step was to walk half a mile up a set of worn out and weathered stairs, this
was very tiring and I almost tripped a couple of times. Looking to my right and I

high because I noticed the air getting colder. We finally reached the top of the

arch architecture of the doorways. There was a carving of an eagle on a circular
stone on the ground. I wondered how the Incas could have carved the stones

at the bottom. At the bottom there was a little river with a rope bridge to cross it.
The rope bridge was 100 feet from the ground and didn t look very sturdy. I wouldn

27. Essay about How Chritianity Affected People in India
How did Christianity affect the people of India?
Introductory
Religions have been around for many thousands of years. Catholicism is one of the
largest religions in the world. India is a country in Asia, and is a little bigger than
Texas, but has over 2 billion people. A 2001 survey showed there to a little over 24
million Christians in India (Christianity). This topic was appealing to me because I
had lived in a boarding school in India from fourth grade to sixth grade. I had seen
the effects of this religion on the people and how they reacted towards change. I had
seen how people adapted to the religion and how people put down the religion
turning to other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. I can relate to these

Background
The British people had been in India since the 18th century, and had enslaved the
people, but finally left in 1947. Throughout this time, the Indian people were being
forced to do things that the English people did not want to do. The Indian people
were enslaved by a much more powerful nation. The main religion of India is
Hinduism. This religion is much more complicated than many other religions,
instead of one main god there are many gods. Many things that Indian people do
have been altered to mean other things (mission frontier). There are also people
that are called demi gods, who somewhat have the power of god and are able to use
their powers whenever they want to. An example of this is a man named khans.
He had the powers of a god because he had prayed for a very long time, and had
done something else that is not very important. During this time there was a god by
the name of Krishna whose uncle was khans. Khans had become evil through the lust
of power and Krishna had to stop him (Park). This shows just one of the many beliefs
of the Hindu people. Many people had gone to India to show the people what
Christianity has to offer and many people reaped the benefits. According to one
Indian resident, many of the people that the Christians tried to help were the poor.

The acclaimed graphic novel author Alan Moore is well known for his extremely

With all of these books winning all of these awards, it made people s heads spin,
which is exactly what graphic novels needed due to them not being the most

changed many people s views on pop culture, with his critically acclaimed comics

The Phillips Curve
Economists agree that unemployment and inflation are two of the major
macroeconomic problems of the twentieth century. If a relationship between the two
existed then this would be a major break through for the macro management of the
economy. Phillips work was empirical started with evidence and worked towards a
theory. The causation for the Phillips theory was that the level of unemployment
caused the rate of change in money wages to be what it was.
What economic theory lies behind this?
As unemployment decreases the available pull of labour goes down. This means that
resources become increasingly scarce and workers can push for higher wage rates.
Or as unemployment decreases more people have

They held that it was the government s duty to achieve the correct level of demand
by manipulating its own spending and tax receipts, or in other words, to have an

demand would rise through a multiplier effect and unemployment would fall. The
inflation controversy Demand Pull or Cost Push?
Keynesian economists were divided into two camps. Some believed that inflation
was caused by too much demand for goods and services, or excess demand i.e.
Demand Pull Inflation. Such economists were very enthusiastic about the Phillips
curve because it seemed to provide strong evidence for their views. The second camp
of Keynesian economists believed that inflation was caused by cost pressures arising
from high wage settlements gained by strong trade unions and from increases in

30. Analysis Of Tinker Vs. Des Moines, And Bethel V. Fraser
The first amendment, which is considered the right to freedom of speech, is a
misconception to many. Not all citizens, but some, think that because of the first
amendment; they can say whatever they want. Although citizens of the United
States have the right to freedom of speech, this freedom of speech is viewed
differently by others. Which leads to confusion as to what can be said and what
cannot be said. Both court cases: Tinker v. Des Moines, and Bethel v. Fraser
involved the confusion and misunderstanding of this first amendment. In December,
1969, a group of students in Des Moines held a meeting in the home of Christopher
Eckhardt to plan a public showing of their support for a truce in the Vietnam War. 1
These students decided to wear black armbands to show their support. These students
included: John F. Tinker, Hope Tinker, Mary Beth Tinker, Paul Tinker, and
Christopher Eckhardt. Whenever the Principal found out about their plan, he stated
that any student found wearing these black armbands would be suspended.2 Despite
the Principal s warning, the students still wore the black armbands.3 On December
16, Christopher Eckhardt and Mary Beth Tinker wore their black armbands to school
and were sent home. The next day, John Tinker wore his armband and was also sent
home. Because of the protest, the students did not return to school until after New
Year s Day. This was the date they planned to end the protest.4 Parents, of the children
who were sent home, were furious.

Abstract:
The interaction of living organisms between themselves and with the environment is
essential for survival. The communication among different living species involves the
integrity of central nervous system which generates brain activity such as arousal,
attention, learning and memory. Moreover, face perception and recognition of faces
are fundamental brain processes for human relationship. The ability to hold objects in
memory is essential to intelligent behavior, but its neural basis still remains poorly
understood. Advances in neuroscience research for past two decades have contributed
to clarify the intricate puzzle about brain recognizing objects.
Key words: Biology of memory, Construction of memory, Neurophysiology of
memory, Types of memory
Memory provides an organism the competence to learn and adapt from previous
experiences as well as build relationships. Memories make you feel comfortable
with familiar people and surroundings, tie your past with your present, and provide
a framework for the future. Most people talk about memory as if it is a thing or
part of a body, like bad eyes or a good head of hair. But it does not exist as a thing
that you can touch. It is a concept that refers to the process of remembering. The
most difficult problem in discussing memory and one of the mysteries of the brain
is neural basis of memory. Earlier many experts described memory as a sort of tiny
filing cabinet full of individual memory folders in which information

The plays Cathleen Ni Houlihan and The Countess Cathleen are particularly
interesting since both are analogies for what was happening in Ireland during the

atmosphere of both is marked with a distinct sense of desperation: Cathleen Ni

What is strategic alliance? The book has it defines as an association designed to
provide benefits for each of its members. Media companies form alliances for
different reasons. Some of these reasons include the following, providing access to
new markets, increasing shareholder value, and reducing risk. (Albarran 34) There
are different types of strategic alliances, with the most common being mergers and
acquisitions, joint ownerships, joint ventures, and formal and informal cooperative

Combined expertise also helps open up doors to reach new target audiences and

media companies and organizations. What exactly is a merger? Investopedia
defines it as follows A merger is the combining of two or more companies, generally
by offering the stockholders of one company securities in the acquiring company in
exchange for the surrender of their stock. To break it down in a more simplistic way,
a merger is when two companies become one. Majority of the time, if not all the time,
the decision to come together is a mutual agreement between both companies.
Majority of the time when a merger occurs, the company that has the less rank tends
