equipment they have used and where they planned their escape.
The documentary then ends with different police force and
detectives looking for the three criminals. It also portrays the
found equipment such as the life jacket, photographs and paddle
the escapers used. It also implies to the audience their big search
fot these three escapers and how still today the case is still open.

event actually took place. Interviews were also held outside prison bars to

scene also involves the shore where they found the equipment such as the
paddles that were used by the escapers. The mise en scene also involves an
insight to where the photographs of these three escapers were edited in a
way that produces an image of what these three might actually look like right
now.This is relevant as this piece of photographs are still used today in order

actual cemetery of the parents of the Anglin Brothers, where it was

atmosphere.This was relevant as the theme of the
music was a mystery of the escapers of Alctraz Prison.

throughout the documentary, specially when archive
materials where being shown.

documentary such as the interview and the narration

portrayed.This montage consist of Alcatraz prison.This is relevant
as the documentary reflects on the place. Fade in was also used
when a new clip was portrayed, this was done to enhance a
dramatic effect. Slow motion was also used in this documentary,
specially when the reconstruction of the guards walking up and
down the hall is being portrayed, this was done to create the
documentary more dramatic; it almost gives the impression that
when you are a prisoner in Alcatraz, everything is in slow motion;
that it is being dragged on because you have been there at the
same place for a number of years.
Simple editing technique was also used such as simple cuts.
8. Within this documentary a lot of graphics were used. For
example at the beginning of the documentary, white, bolded
texts were used when portraying the title of the documentary.
Graphics such as old newspaper text were also used when
portraying the names of the three prisoners who escaped
Alcatraz was being portrayed.This was done to reflect on the
fact this happened a long time ago.When interview were
being portrayed, a white simple texts was used to inform the
audience who they are and also what they are.
Fancy graphics was also then used when portraying a 3D
blueprint escape plans of the three prisoners. It consisted of
moving arrows and 3D blueprint pipes.This is relevant as it
lets the audience knows how these prisoners has planned
their escape.

Alcatraz Prison was used to let the audience know
exactly what it look like back then when the escaped

story and to give a glimpse towards the
audience exactly how the three prisoners

escaping. Reconstruction involves recreating the
three prisoners making the equipment they
need such as rafts, shows the prisoners how they
made their dummy heads and how they actually
escaped.
