2. Why does it resonate for you?
◦ This topic resonates with me because I don’t go a single day without
seeing someone who is homeless on the side of the road. I often see
families with their little children as well and knowing that they don’t
have access to food or shelter is heart breaking.

3. How can your interest be applied locally?
◦ I can apply my interests locally by taking the time to volunteer at the
Tacoma Rescue Mission. This allows me to help prepare and serve
food to underprivilege families in the Tacoma area.

4. Where can you make the greatest
contribution?
◦ I could make the greatest contribution by trying to get people I know
involved with shelters and food banks local to them. This could be
done by educating them on the statistic of poverty and homelessness
in our local areas. Motivating them to donate or even volunteer at a
organization that is local to them.

5. Is there a feature of social media that can be
uniquely applied to this goal?
◦ On Facebook there is a platform that allows people to create
campaigns for any organization they are interested in and ask their
Facebook friends to donate. This has been something that has gotten
quite popular people will use their birthdays as a way to get friends to
donate to a organization that is close to them instead of giving them
birthday gifts.
◦ Instagram is also a great way to take photos and videos to show how
easy it is to get involved in volunteering and show the lasting impact
that volunteering makes.
