Mike Safyan ISU Personal Assignment Presentation - Rendezvous Algorithmmikerare
This is the presentation for my personal assignment as part of my master\'s curriculum at the International Space University. The goal was to develop an image processing algorithm to estimate the relative position and attitude of a cooperative target spacecraft.
This document provides a novice guide on using a digital SLR camera. It explains that a digital SLR camera uses an interchangeable lens system and mirror/prism viewfinder to provide the photographer a through-the-lens view. The camera has two main parts - the body with image sensor and electronics, and interchangeable lenses. It discusses various configuration settings like ISO, aperture, shutter speed that control image quality and exposure. The guide recommends learning these settings through practice and experimentation to improve photography skills.
Femtophotography is a technique that captures ultra-slow motion images of light pulses propagating through a medium. It works by using a camera that can take trillion frames per second to photograph individual photons reflected from an object at different times, which are then combined to recreate the image. Originally developed in 1970, it is now being researched at MIT to visualize light in motion and help with applications like object detection, collision avoidance, and medical imaging like colonoscopies.
This document provides tips for photographing fireworks using a DSLR camera. It recommends bringing essential equipment like a tripod, fluid head, and remote shutter. The first tip is to arrive early to scout locations and manually focus the scene before dark. The second tip advises shooting in manual mode, turning off the flash, and starting with settings like ISO 100, shutter speed 1/2", and f-stop F11. Long exposure tips include always using a tripod, remote shutter, shutter speeds of 30-60 seconds, and using bulb mode. The document also mentions varying the focal length if wanting a tight close shot and refocusing when changing focal length. The final tip is to use bulb shutter mode and
This document discusses femto-photography, a technique developed by Ramesh Raskar at MIT Media Lab that uses ultrafast cameras to capture photons reflected off surfaces and around corners. It works by analyzing the paths of multiple photons reflected from an object to reconstruct what is around the corner. The document explains that streak cameras are used which can capture images at trillionths of a second, and describes potential applications in collision avoidance, medical imaging, and seeing motion beyond line of sight.
The document discusses shutter speed, which is the amount of time the camera shutter remains open, allowing light to pass through to the image sensor. Shutter speed is measured in fractions of a second and determines how motion is rendered - faster shutter speeds "freeze" motion while slower shutter speeds blur motion. The appropriate shutter speed depends on the desired effect and how fast the subject is moving. Very fast shutter speeds are often used for sports photography, while slower speeds can be used to blur water or for night photography effects. Developing an intuition for matching shutter speed to different subjects takes practice.
The document discusses shutter speed and its effect on photographs. It explains that shutter speed is measured in seconds and determines how long the shutter is open to let in light. A faster shutter speed will freeze motion while a slower shutter speed will blur motion. The appropriate shutter speed depends on the desired effect and how fast the subject is moving. Very fast shutter speeds are used for sports photography to freeze action, while slower speeds can be used to blur water or for night photography when using a tripod. The document provides examples of shutter speeds and techniques such as panning to achieve different effects.

Dslr workshop camera audit form blank 2019samuel nixon
1. The document provides an equipment audit checklist and good practice guide for using cameras and video equipment. It outlines steps to check equipment like batteries, memory cards, and that the camera is functioning properly before use.
2. The checklist indicates the user should set the camera settings like resolution, frame rate, and audio to manual. It also provides instructions for how to change lenses, set the aperture and shutter speed, and use a tripod.
3. The document emphasizes the importance of checking exposure, focus, and sound quality before leaving the filming location to ensure the necessary footage was captured.
The document summarizes the key equipment used to film and edit a thriller opening. This included a camera and tripod for filming, two types of battery-powered lighting in a three-point setup, Apple computers for editing and blogging, and a scanner to digitize research documents.
This document is a seminar report on femto photography submitted by Gaurav Chauhan to fulfill requirements for a bachelor's degree. It discusses challenges in capturing light propagation at femtosecond resolution, contributions of the report, and limitations of the current system. The report proposes using synchronized pulsed laser illumination and a streak sensor to capture space-time planes of light transport with picosecond resolution across a scene. It also describes capturing space-time volumes by scanning a mirror to sweep exposures vertically and build 3D data cubes of the ultrafast event.
This document outlines potential hazards, risks, and controls when filming. It discusses lighting being too bright, carrying heavy equipment, working in the dark, and using props like cigarettes. For each hazard, it proposes controlling the risk by using appropriate lighting, distributing equipment loads, only filming with sufficient light, and taking safety precautions when using props. Findings should be recorded and plans reviewed and revised as needed.
3D Scanning Keynote Presentation By Lt. Donny MahoneyPPI_Group

Throughout creating products, the student received constant verbal feedback from their teacher and classmates. Classmates said their website was "bland and boring" so they changed it to include more visuals. The teacher advised adding more images of the artist to the site and making the tour page more realistic by including additional dates. Early on, the student also tried a questionnaire for feedback but received no responses, leaving them to rely on verbal comments from others.
The Mac Miller website uses visual elements and design features to attract and engage audiences. It prominently displays the album cover on the homepage to pique interest in the meaning and music. Scrolling down, the album title is highlighted in a unique font against stereotypes. Various sections promote the artist's merchandise, music videos, and tour dates with contrasting colors schemes, further drawing visitors in and making it easy to explore the artist's work. The changing designs and ease of navigation aim to expand Mac Miller's fan base.
Rap music videos often use street locations connected to the artist's upbringing to show their hard background but success in the music industry. For example, Skepta's "Shutdown" video features the lower-class area he grew up in. Some videos take place in a single room to focus attention on the artist and lyrics rather than telling a narrative through the video. Tinchy Stryder's "Game Over" video shows him standing in the middle of a set with cameras circling.
In rap/hip-hop music videos:
1) Artists and others in the videos often wear similar, casual clothing like tracksuits to portray a sense of uniformity and group membership. This type of clothing is sometimes stereotyped as being worn by troublemakers.
2) Brand name, designer clothing is commonly worn to display wealth and status, though artists may also receive sponsorships to promote certain brands.
3) Jewelry, especially gold chains, rings and watches, are frequently shown off by artists to emphasize their financial success from their music careers and may connect to lyrics about wealth.
The document is a shot log for a sports field that describes 29 shots ranging from close ups to long shots over a period of 3:30 minutes. Each shot is identified by a number and provides the time frame and camera angle. The shots include pouring water, panning and tracking shots from various angles including low, high, and medium shots that zoom, pan, and track between close ups and wider shots of the sports field.
The film represents several social groups:
1) Middle aged men, through the main character who is middle aged and has psychopathic tendencies, shown through his strange lines and slow pacing in introductory shots.
2) The male gender, as the main character is male and wears darker, more intimidating clothing perceived as masculine.
3) The female gender, through two other characters who are both female, wearing brighter, more colorful costumes appearing less threatening and feminine.
4) Adults, as the intended 15 rating suggests, through an older main character for audience to potentially relate to.
5) Children, through a child character shown playing on a playground.
