This document summarizes a presentation on mobile money and digital payments given at a summit in London. It notes that 2.7 billion people are unbanked and access to banking is limited in emerging markets. Alternative digital payment methods like mobile wallets and e-wallets are growing rapidly due to customer demand for payment choice and convenience. However, reducing costs, meeting basic needs, building trust and addressing security concerns are critical success factors for increasing financial inclusion through digital payments, especially in countries with high illiteracy rates like Kenya, Ethiopia and Nigeria. The presentation also demonstrates a single sign-on payment solution that aims to provide a smooth customer experience across online and in-store payments.
