Over one-fourth of the Palestinians killed in the past week in Gaza were children. The Gaza Strip is located southwest of Israel, bordering both Israel and Egypt, with 40 km of Mediterranean coastline. It was formerly part of the British Mandate of Palestine but now depends largely on the Habesor River for resources and has seen its residents flee their homes during three wars in just over five years due to Israeli bombings of their neighborhood.
