The Wenatchee Enrichment Program identifies students for talent groups and services in two primary ways. Teachers can refer students who demonstrate advanced ability, finish work quickly, work at a high complexity level, or are self-motivated in specific subject areas like math, writing, or art. Students may also be identified for the talent pool based on state criteria if they are new to the district. All current third grade students are automatically considered for services beginning in fourth grade based on standardized test scores and evidence of exceptional creativity. While the program focuses on students meeting certain criteria, enrichment specialists also provide exploratory learning opportunities to all students through classroom presentations and assemblies.
