The 2013 vintage in Bordeaux was challenging due to unpredictable weather throughout the growing season. At Château de Lamarque, they experienced coulure in the spring and threats of rot in September due to rain. However, by carefully managing their vineyard which utilizes the Cousinié soil health method, avoiding treatments against botrytis, and providing a potassium leaf feed in August, they were able to achieve good ripening and an early harvest before rot set in. While yields were low overall, Château de Lamarque produced well-balanced wines through their viticultural practices tuned to the specific needs of their terroir.
