Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya
every year on 15th September who
was the greatest Engineer of
India at his time.

4. Visvesvarya was born on 15th September ,1860 at Muddenhalli ,
Chikballapur , Kingdom of Mysore (now Karnataka). He completed his
Bachelor of Arts from Madras University in 1881 and later studied Civil
Engineering at the prestigious College of Engineering , Pune.

5. Some of his major achievements:
 Krishna Raja Sagar Dam on the Cauvery river.
 Brindavan Gardens.
 Sri Jayachamaraja Polytechnic Institute of
Bangalore.
 Mysore University.
 Block System of automated doors that closed in
the conditions of overflow.
 Flood Control System of Hyderabad.
 Dams in Mumbai.
 Visvesvaraya College of Engineering in 1917.
