 Fixing the Anchoring Support/ Lifting Brackets both side of
Box wall as per approved drawing.
 Placing Power pack jacks for Lifting of RCC Box.
 Positioning of Re-railing beams with Roller skate below the
RCC Box
 Finally Box to be pushed using proper pre designed mechanical
arrangement including roller & pushing jacks.

Weight of segment - 555 MT
No. of Jacks - 8 Nos.
Capacity of each jack – 140 MT (250 stroke)
Traverse jack -65 MT (200 stroke)
Initial lifting given - 480 mm (in stage of 150mm)
No. of holes in jacking point – 4 + 4
Bolt dia for fixing Bracket - 38 mm
Initial preparation time - 2 hrs.
Time of lifting of box - 1 hrs.
Time of fixing channel & roller -1.1/2 hrs.
Time of Pushing - 2 hrs.

project.
Due to heavy train traffic, the LC gates are
closed, due to which passengers face difficulty in
time management. Provision of Subway will also
improve safety for road users and pedestrians
and reduce traffic congestion, making travel
easier for people using public transport, walking,
cycling or driving. Therefore, elimination of LC
gates by Subway will reduce accidents and
improve the working system of Railways. As per
the instructions of Railway Board, all LC gates
are to be eliminated, which will help in
achieving substantial operational benefits.
1. 200 mm thick RCC Bed (M-30) to be
prepared over 200mm thick soling
to have hard and level surface.
2. Pushing can be started after 48 hrs of concreting.

REMEDIES:-
 Good quality, firm and levelled
RCC bed to be prepared.
 Box to be lifted
simultaneously from both LH
and RH side.
REMEDIES:-
• Reference pegs to be fixed with respect to
center line of box & RH girder
• Regular checking of longitudinal alignment
to be done
REMEDIES:-
• Concrete shall be dense and properly
compacted
• Entire concrete to be casted in one go
• MS plate of minimum 3mm thickness to be
provided in pockets
1.Method is totally fail safe.
2.Elimination of thrust bed reduces total time
by minimum 45 days.
3.Box can be casted without cutting of bank.
4.Flexibility to cast box during monsoon also since
cutting of bank is not required.
5.Reduction in time required for box pushing
(25-30 day are reduced to 2 days ) .
6.For small boxes total site working time can be
reduced to 5-6 days (Right from insertion of RH
girder to removal of RH girder)
7. Method is more reliable than the thrust bed as
friction is substantially reduced while pushing.
8. This method has all advantages of box pushing
with thrust bed with added advantage of
reduction in time.
9. Box can be casted on both side or one
side depending on site condition.
10.Side shifting of box is easier and less
time consuming.
11. Most versatile and fail safe method.

ENGINEERING PPT BOX PUSHING ON PUNE DIVISION

  • 2.  Casting of Box.  Insertion of RH girder with CC Crib.  Excavation.  Pushing of box.  Refilling.  Removal of RH girder.
  • 3.  Casting the RCC Boxes as per approved drawing at calculated bed level.
  • 4.  Fixing the Anchoring Support/ Lifting Brackets both side of Box wall as per approved drawing.

  • 55. REMEDIES:-  Good quality, firm and levelled RCC bed to be prepared.  Box to be lifted simultaneously from both LH and RH side.
  • 56. REMEDIES:- • Reference pegs to be fixed with respect to center line of box & RH girder • Regular checking of longitudinal alignment to be done
  • 57. REMEDIES:- • Concrete shall be dense and properly compacted • Entire concrete to be casted in one go • MS plate of minimum 3mm thickness to be provided in pockets

  • 59. 1.Method is totally fail safe. 2.Elimination of thrust bed reduces total time by minimum 45 days. 3.Box can be casted without cutting of bank. 4.Flexibility to cast box during monsoon also since cutting of bank is not required. 5.Reduction in time required for box pushing (25-30 day are reduced to 2 days ) .
  • 60. 6.For small boxes total site working time can be reduced to 5-6 days (Right from insertion of RH girder to removal of RH girder) 7. Method is more reliable than the thrust bed as friction is substantially reduced while pushing. 8. This method has all advantages of box pushing with thrust bed with added advantage of reduction in time.
  • 61. 9. Box can be casted on both side or one side depending on site condition. 10.Side shifting of box is easier and less time consuming. 11. Most versatile and fail safe method.
