Women account for more than 20 percent of Rotary’s global membership, but they are underrepresented in leadership positions throughout the organization. Diverse leadership correlates with high performance, so let’s explore strategies to break the “glass ceiling” in our clubs, districts, and zones. Together, we can Be the Inspiration around the globe.
ROTARY INTERNATIONAL / THE ROTARY FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORT 2015-16.

How can Rotaractors stay connected to Rotary? This session is designed to help Rotarians become mentors for Rotaractors and Rotaract alumni. Explore methods to engage with Rotaractors and help them feel part of the Rotary family, even after their time with Rotaract has ended.
This was something I created sometime back when I was the Membership Development Director of the RI District 3220 and it was used as the official introductory presentation.
An introduction to Rotary's programs for Young Leaders. Discover opportunities to engage young leaders in your community through service, leadership development, and fun!
Rotary provides opportunities for all people at any age to connect. Yet we often find ourselves segmented by our age groups. Let’s explore ways Interact, Rotaract, and Rotary clubs come together through meaningful mentorship programs and collaborative service projects.

Transform! How to Lead Clubs and Districts to Be IrresistibleRotary International
Ready to lead your Rotary team in new directions, but not sure how or where to start? Gain a deeper understanding of how to help your club or district transform itself for the future. Using practical tools, you will begin to develop strategies that inspire people to achieve Rotary’s dynamic new priorities.
Education and Avoiding Intercultural Conflict Using Rotarian EthicsRotary International
Conflict seems to be increasing around the world. Using examples of everyday Rotarian life, this session will demonstrate how to identify and solve ethical dilemmas using The Four- Way Test. Explore how to foster friendly communication and interaction in and between Rotary clubs.
Increase Rotary's Impact and Reach through Rotary Community Corps PresentationRotary International
Rotary Community Corps (RCCs) are our non-Rotarian partners in service. Under the sponsorship of Rotary clubs, they plan, conduct, and support service projects to improve their communities. RCCs are a great way to enhance Rotary’s impact and reach around the world. Attend this session to learn how to establish RCCs and maximize the benefits of this partnership.
As RI President Ian Riseley said in the March issue of The Rotarian, “Rotaractors are truly partners in Rotary service.” It is important to develop a strong partnership between Rotaract and Rotary in order to bridge the membership gap. In this idea exchange we will talk about strategies that work for cultivating a relationship, including dual membership, joint meetings & service projects, and more. It is the personal connection that one has to Rotary that will create life-long Rotarians. Facilitator: Caitlin Mangiacasale-Ashford
Presentation by Rotaractors Mitty Chang (USA) and Anita Chan (Hong Kong) from a workshop at the 2012 Rotaract Preconvention Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.
A brief introduction to the Rotaract program, aimed at Rotarians. Written from an Australian perspective, it looks at what the program is about, how it came to be, and where Rotaract is at today both globally and in Australia. It also discusses how Rotaract and Rotary can work together as partners-in-service.

It is with great joy that I join the Rotaract (Rotary) Family in ushering in the year 2007-2008 with the theme ROTARY SHARES .
Of course this theme has nothing to do with the listing of Rotary on any of the stock exchanges of the world but rather a call to
share ideas and resources to grow Club membership and effectiveness in projects.
Special emphasis has been set on Net Membership increase and I take this opportunity to share that that our Rotaract Clubs goals is to have a net membership increase of one new member every half year. This should be indicative in all Rotaract functions like ROTS, RYLA, and District Conference etc where each Club will be required to have atleast one additional member in attendance.
As Rotaractors, we have benefited from the mentorship
of our Rotarians and it is important that we share the
fruitage by reaching out to Interactors who are the largest
buffer opportunity for Rotaract membership. I request you
to not only identify Interact Clubs that you can mentor but
also support your Rotary (Mother) Clubs in forming Interact
clubs.

Up the Ratios Bylaws - a Comprehensive Process of Our Organizationuptheratios
Up the Ratios is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in STEM education for underprivileged students by providing free, high-quality learning opportunities in robotics and other STEM fields. Our mission is to empower the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers by offering a range of educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
At Up the Ratios, we believe that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world. To achieve this, we host a variety of free classes, workshops, summer camps, and live lectures tailored to students from underserved communities. Our programs are designed to be engaging and hands-on, allowing students to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM through practical, real-world applications.
Our free classes cover fundamental concepts in robotics, coding, and engineering, providing students with a strong foundation in these critical areas. Through our interactive workshops, students can dive deeper into specific topics, working on projects that challenge them to apply what they've learned and think creatively. Our summer camps offer an immersive experience where students can collaborate on larger projects, develop their teamwork skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to our local programs, Up the Ratios is committed to making a global impact. We take donations of new and gently used robotics parts, which we then distribute to students and educational institutions in other countries. These donations help ensure that young learners worldwide have the resources they need to explore and excel in STEM fields. By supporting education in this way, we aim to nurture a global community of future leaders and innovators.
Our live lectures feature guest speakers from various STEM disciplines, including engineers, scientists, and industry professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with our students. These lectures provide valuable insights into potential career paths and inspire students to pursue their passions in STEM.
Up the Ratios relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue our work. Contributions of time, expertise, and financial support are crucial to sustaining our programs and expanding our reach. Whether you're an individual passionate about education, a professional in the STEM field, or a company looking to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
We are proud of the positive impact we've had on the lives of countless students, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. By providing these young minds with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only changing their futures but also contributing to the advancement of technology and innovation on a broader scale.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

Age Gap. Social status with “senior”
members.
Financial commitments.
Upcoming career
promotions and time
commitments.
Lack of motivation by
the some Rotary
Clubs.
Not interested traditional
Rotary programs, not fun to
the younger generations.
Issues important to
young people differ:
climate change,
unemployment,
corruption, crime.
Difference of interest.
Clubs are male
dominated.
Too many formalities &
protocol.
WHAT’S DETERRING YOUNG PEOPLE?
Too many competing
activities: social media,
video games, socials.
27. Youth programs help extend
the family of Rotary.
Working with youth instills
Rotary’s value in the
future generations to come.

Does our club create
a welcoming
environment for the
New Generations?
Does our service
projects really motivate
the New Generations to
engage?
Do we offer
leadership positions
to the New
Generations?
THINK FOR A MOMENT:
30. Rotary International Convention | #Rotary18
Go for
tea!
Have a
phone call!
Meet on the
web!
CONDUCT A “1-ON-1”
TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER!
31. Rotary International Convention | #Rotary18
What is going well? What isn’t going so well? What action can we
take together to
improve?
CONDUCT A “RETROSPECTIVE”
TO OPEN THE DIALOGUE!
32. Rotary International Convention | #Rotary18
INVITE YOUTH TO “PROJECT MANAGE”
INITIATIVES TOGETHER!
Enable youth to pick
positions on
committees.
Form a
buddy program
where youth can
shadow Rotarians.
Invite youth to be on
the board.
34. Rotary International Convention | #Rotary18
Guinness World
Record attempt!
Encourage youth by giving
knowledge about Rotary &
Rotaract in the schools and
communities.
Through social apps such
as WhatsApp and
Facebook and instagram.
Clubs with women are
soooo much more
attractive.
Invite youth to share their
stories at meetings.
Invite each other to participate
in projects.
Do more hands
on activities!
Don't be
arrogant or
boastful.
FREE FOOD.
Programs that attract
youth are really
appreciated.
Meeting times. Lunch meetings
are not realistic for us young
people.
How can Rotary Clubs and/or Rotarians better engage youth?
Provide opportunities for
internships.
36. Rotary International Convention | #Rotary18
How can Rotary Clubs and/or Rotarians better engage youth?
Give more opportunities
for service; both locally
and globally.
Clubs must be open and willing
to make changes necessary to
attract younger members such
as through social media,
marketing, and advertising
efforts.
Opportunities to acquire
professional, & leadership
skills.
Give more opportunities to
build international
understanding and respect
for the rights of others.
Opportunities for service,
locally and globally.
Maintaining and upholding
ethical standards.
Building
relationships
before asking
prospective
members to join.
Invite non-Rotarians (including
Rotaractors, Interactors, and
Rotary Alumni), family, and
friends to participate in club
events to maximize impact and
expand community awareness.
Attend the Rotaract
Pre-Convention.
Rotarians who may be unfamiliar
with Rotaract should be challenged
to take a "leap-of-faith" and
suspend judgement to see what
their Rotaract Club is capable of.
37. Rotaract Club of University o Findlay, Ohio, USA
International service trip with the Rotary Club
of Guatemala Metropoli in 2010.
38. Rotary International Convention | #Rotary18
Treat Rotaractors as
their partner. Do joint
programs, meetings, or
projects with them.
Conduct team sports events like
volleyball, cricket and football
(not just golf).
Rotarians need to come
and engage with youth.
Youth summits specifically
designed for the Rotaractors.
Provide resources
regarding mental health,
family, etc.
Participating in Rotaract
programs and encouraging
free Rotary membership.
Encourage their
kids to join
Rotaract and
Interact.
Arrange different career
guidance seminars
and workshops.
By sitting & spending
fruitful time with them.
Maintain a good relationships
with the Rotaract/Interact Clubs
they sponsor.
How can Rotary Clubs and/or Rotarians better engage youth?
Develop onboarding/training for
youth.
Support RYLA, fellowship,
club avenue events. Develop Rotaract branding in Rotary club’s
constitution.
40. To provide full
support and
encouragement for
students to
develop the
society.
Rotary International Convention | #Rotary18
A younger person is more likely to
engage in an activity that another
younger person suggests.
Rotary Clubs should conduct a
360-degree feedback amongst
themselves to better understand the
goals and objectives of engaging youth.
District and zone level Rotaract teams should be
formed by Rotary International to manage or
encourage Rotaract at the root.
It can be done by finding things that can make them
feel proud! Like tree planting and naming the tree.
How can Rotary Clubs and/or Rotarians can better engage youth?
Sponsoring Clubs must treat
their Rotaractors with the
same respect they treat with
their Rotarians at their home
Club.
More casual social events would be nice so
that all age groups involved with rotary can
connect and share thoughts.
Rotary has to extend financial support to Rotaract.
At our club, every
year we hold a meet
and greet for new
students.
42. Our challenge to Rotarians:
By the end of the convention, find a
youth who you’ve never met
and ask:
“What can Rotarians, like me, do
to engage you more in Rotary?”
43. The future is now.
Rotaractors are
PRESENT
ROTARIANS.
