WHAT IS A ROTARACT CLUB?
WHAT IS A ROTARACT CLUB?
 Rotaract Club is a Rotary sponsored service club for the
youth aged between 18-30 years.
 Rotaract Clubs are either Community or University based.
 Every Rotaract Club is sponsored by a Rotary Club also know
as a Parent Club, which makes them true “Partner in Service”
and a key member of Rotary Family.
 Rotaract Clubs are a part of global effort to bring peace and
international understanding to the world through framework
of fellowship, friendship & service.
ORIGIN OF ROTARY-IN-ACTION
 Rotaract Club was started in the year 1968.
 The first Rotaract Club was Rotaract Club of North Charlotte,
North Carolina, USA, Chartered on 13th March, 1968.
 The Rotaract Movement has a dynamic history and a fast
growth with 8232 clubs in 170 countries with 189,336
Rotaractors. (sources)
 It is reckoned as one of the fastest growing movements
having a rate of 2.24%

interest of the club members.

CLUB SERVICE
 Celebration & Fellowship all starts here!!
 Club service is the most primary avenues of Rotaract
which keeps the team energetic & motivated.
 Events like Movie Fellowship, Team Outings, Group
Dinner etc falls under the Club Service Avenue which
helps the team to get a stronger bonding and lead
the club.

 The second most important chapter of Rotaract Movement is
Community Service.
 As a youth wing of Rotary Club it is a responsibility of a
Rotaract team to do good for the society they live in.
 Rotaractors need to work on the social aspect of their locality
and need to work for the betterment of the community
standards every month.
 We need to figure out the necessities that our society needs
and create projects accordingly.

 Cleanliness Drive in our City.
 Tree Plantation.
 Orphanage and Shelter Home Visits.
 Finding free schools and admitting street hawker’s children.
 Traffic regulation.
 Providing Monetary support to patients belonging to poor family.
 Conducting Free Health Camps in the rural areas.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
 Professional service is an avenue where a Rotaract Club has
to emphasis on a professional growth of the entire team.
 Conducting Seminars, Orientations, Skill Development test
are the key factors to encourage Rotaractors to stable up in
the personal lives.
 The main aim of Professional Service is to benefit its
members to outcast themselves and become leaders
tomorrow.

 Public Relation Team is also helpful to be a eye catcher for a
sponsoror.
 A healthy PR Team will always create a goodwill for its club,
across the globe.

HOW TO CREATE AN EVENT?
 It should pass the Rotary Four Way Test.
 It should be written & submitted to the President.
 The Project Should have its own committee under the
leadership of Project Chairman & Project Co-chairman.
 The Project Banner should have the Rotary Logo, Rotaract
Logo, District Logo, & R.I. Theme.
 A budget of the event sheet should be presented to the
Board.

RAISING SPONSORSHIP
 Raising funds for the club is one of the challenging task for the Finance Committee.
 Raising Sponsorship is a creativity which a President should guide to all his club
members.
 We should target only those corporates who will have a follow on or reaches in our
event.
 A Fund Raising Event like a Fancy Dress Competition, the targated Sponsor should be
from Textile, Kids School, Stationery Mart etc as they will find their direct market to
showcase their product to the right crowd.
 Once the sponsorship amount is received it is duty of the Hospitality Committee to
keep the sponsor updated about the event proceedings.
 Benefits to the Sponsors as mentioned should be provided and a post event thanking
letter should be sent as a form of greetings to the sponsor, these kind act will raise the
club’s goodwill and they would show interest in your upcoming projects too.
EXECUTING EVENT
 Have a pre planned agenda with all committee heads.
 Have a direct one-to-one communication during the event.
 The Dignitaries on the Dias should have a copy of agenda and a
hospitality team engaged with them.
 The host of the show can welcome the guest after a session is over, not
in between.
 The Seargent-at-Arms team should maintain discipline and run the
program as directed in Protocols Chapter of the District Directory &
should avoid loitering of memebers in the arena, with the gates closed
during the event.
POST EVENT WORK OUTS
 Once the event is over the Venue Committee appointed should clear off the left outs
in the arena or the sight.
 Finance Committee should collect the bills from the vendors, prepare vouchers and
make the payment as per the conditions made prior to the event.
 Organizing Committee i.e. Project Chairman, Project Co-Chairman, President &
Secretary should convey their “Thanks Greetings” directly to all the guest and members
present in the meeting.
 Public Relation Officer should collect the photographs and shall make it available to
the press media for broadcasting it on their respective channels and on social
networks.
MOTIVATION
 Rotaract movement has everything for which we are
becoming a follower of it.
 Rotaract teaches Leadership.
 To be a Leader, one should be a motivator, who in
both profit or loss, keeps his team motivated.
