2. Pre-Writing ( Listing Technique)
My childhood favorite movies are animated movies.
Alpha and Omega and Ratatouille are two of animated movies I like the most.
There are a few differences between this two animated movies.
The plot of these movies are different.
Alpha and Omega features a romance between a female alpha wolf, Kate and an
ordinary male wolf, Humphrey.
Kate agrees to marry Garth the future leader of the Eastern pack.
Kate and Humphrey are taken far away by park rangers.
They strive to find a way back for the upcoming wedding ceremony.
Kate started started to like Humphrey.
Their relationship is acknowledged.
Ratatouille is about a rat named Remy who who loves cooking.
He meets Linguini who wants his help in cooking.
Accepted as a qualified chef by inventing a dish named “Ratatouille”.
The genres are different too.
Alpha and Omega is a adventure-romance movie.
Ratatouille is a comedy.
Kate and Humphrey went through an epic journey to find their way back home
Ratatouille has many funny scenes that makes the audience laugh.
The locations are also different.
Alpha and Omega occurs in the woods, valleys, cliffs and rivers.
Ratatouille take place in the city like Gusteau's restaurant in Paris.

3. The background of the movies are different which includes the production company, the
budget, and release date.
I would prefer Ratatouille i am passionate about culinary arts.

4. Everyone loves watching movies as it adds colors to our lives just like what Stanley
Kubrick has stated: “ All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” . Some people revel
in watching a specific type of movie for example horror, action, fantasy and many more.
As for me, I love watching animated movies as it develops my ingenuity beyond
boundaries because animated movies has no limitations to it’s possibilities. Animated
movies are getting more and more popular nowadays like Frozen, Inside Out, and Toy
Story. The two animated I love the most is Alpha and Omega and Ratatouille. However,
there are some differences between both of this movies for instance, the plot, genre,
location and background.
The plot of Alpha and Omega features a romance between Kate, a female alpha
wolf and an ordinary male wolf Humphrey which goes against the pack’s custom. Kate
agrees to marry Garth, future leader of the Eastern pack so as to unite the Eastern and
Western pack. However, Kate and Humphrey are tranquilized by park rangers and
taken away far away where they strive to find a way back for the upcoming wedding
ceremony. Kate develops strong feelings for Humphrey along the journey as she
refuses to marry Garth on the ceremony. At last, their relationship is accepted when
Humphrey saves the pack from a massive stampede of caribous. On the other hand,
Ratatouille is about a rat named Remy who dreams of becoming a great French chef
despite his family's wishes. By fate, he meets an amateur chef, Linguini who wants his
help in cooking. Remy is finally accepted as a qualified chef by inventing a dish named
“Ratatouille” which is approved by the France’s top restaurant critic. He then opens his
own bistro named "La Ratatouille” along with Linguini.

5. The genres of these animated movies are different too. Alpha and Omega is a
adventure-romance movie while Ratatouille is a comedy. In the movie Alpha and
omega, Kate and Humphrey went through an epic journey in finding their way back
home for example being attacked by three enormous bears resulting them to fell off a
cliff which almost cause their lives. In addition, they also went through a tough storm
which restricts them to move forward resulting them to get just on time for the train back
to their home. There is also romance in this movie where Kate falls in love with
Humphrey which is a happy-go-lucky wolf as he is always positive minded in every
situation. As for Ratatouille, it has many humorous events that makes the audience
laugh for instance the blatant exaggeration of characters like the devious restaurant
owner which is extremely short in his height as he scolds Linguini while standing on a
ladder to seem taller. The way of interaction between Remy and Linguini is also very
funny as Remy guides Linguini like a marionette by pulling on his hair while hiding under
his chef hat.
The locations portrayed in both of the animated movies are also different. In the
movie Alpha and Omega, all of the scenes happens in the woods which includes Jasper
Park where all the Western and Eastern pack lives and Sawtooth National Recreation
Area in Idaho where Kate and Humphrey was sent off after being tranquilized. There
are also scenes that shows deeper into the woods where there are mountains, valleys,
cliffs and rivers. There is an obvious contrast in the location of Ratatouille as most of the
scenes are happening in the city. For example, Gusteau's restaurant which is located at
Paris, France. It is the place where Remy meets Linguini in the kitchen of Gusteau’s
restaurant and where all the main events of the movie is held. Besides, the movie also

6. shows a part of the hidden world of the city which is the underground world where
Remy’s family, the rats live in the drains.
Another difference between the two animated movies is the background of the
movies. Alpha and Omega is a Canadian-American film produced by Crest Animation
Productions which is directed by Anthony Bell and Ben Gluck. The production of this
movie is given a budget of 20 million USD. The film is released in 2-D and 3-D on
September 17, 2010 to 2,625 theaters nationwide. The duration of this movies is 90
minutes. On the other hand, Ratatouille is an American film produced by Pixar
Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures which is directed by Brad Bird.
A budget of 150 million USD is given for this movie which is about six times more than
Alpha and Omega. The film is released in 2-D only on June 29, 2007 and won the
Academy Award for Best Animated Feature among other honors. The duration of this
movie is 111 hours which is slightly longer compared to the movie Alpha and Omega.
In a nutshell, there are many differences in the plot, genre, locations and
background between the two animated movies which are Alpha and Omega and
Ratatouille. Despite of the differences of these movies, I still love to watch them as that
is what makes each of them so special which brings about different feelings after
viewing them. Watching Alpha and Omega makes my heart beats faster out of
excitement while Ratatouille makes me a rainbow during gloomy days. However,
overall, I would prefer Ratatouille slightly more than Alpha and Omega because
Ratatouille is about cooking and I am very passionate about culinary arts. Moreover, the
storyline of Ratatouille motivates me to strive harder to achieve my dreams and goals

7. as the saying goes in the movie, “Anyone can cook” which encourages Remy, a rat to
pursue his culinary dreams.
