2. Movies have played an essential role in recent year. To most movie buffs, watching movies is enjoyable
and full of charm, entertaining people, touching people’s soul. However, there is a wide concern and
much debate over what kind of films we should see. Some people believe that only movies that can teach
us something about real life are worth watching. In my opinion, although certainly those movies are worth
watching, it is, nonetheless, not the only type. Every movie have its own unique story behind it before
producing it .Producing a movie may seems easy but it actually requires lots of process before finalise it
.Animated movie are one of the examples of movie that worth watching as it always has a moral value
behind the story of it.Of course , to produce a great animated movie is not an easy task ,it is a process
of creating the continuous motion and shape change illusion by means of rapid display of a
sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other.
In the movie “ The Shrek” directed by An drew Adamson and Vicky Jenson in 2001 is a romantic comedy
animated movie that won several Oscar Awards during their release of this movie.This movie is mainly
about a green ogre who is forced to become an unlikely hero to save a group of fairytale creatures.In the
exposition part of the movie ,the author focus a lot on the main character - Shrek where he is a big ogre
who lives alone in the woods, feared by all the people in the land of Duloc. When the ruler
of Duloc, exiles all the fairy-tale beings to the woods, Shrek loses his peaceful life and his
home becomes a refugee camp. That’s when the other character like Lord Fardquaad and
Princess Fiona comes in .Conversely , “ Ratatouille’ is a comedy friendship animated movie
set in the romantic lush vision of Paris directed by Brad Bird. This film is as much of a love
letter to Paris as it is to food itself. In the exposition part of the movie ,the author focus on the
creation of a stunning vista that stretches for miles which portrays Paris as a breathtaking beautiful
city .The sidestreets and alleyways are full of life, imagination, colour, and when the main character
– Remy travels through this city there is a sense of discovery and wonder .
Moreover , the main character in “the Shrek “ is a towering fierce ogre whose fearsome appearance
belies a kind heart. Shrek is the star of a highly successful series of animated films. He begins the
series as an unsociable hermit until he meets his soon-to-be best friend, Donkey. Since Shrek is an
ogre,he has a considerable amount of physical strength, being able to break wood and metal constructs,
get in physical combat with a number of armored humans and usually winning and even lifting or turning
objects that are too heavy for a normal human being, such as a gigantic vat of magic potion against the
maximum security of the Fairy Godmother .Conversely ,in the movie ‘ Ratatouille , the author highlighted
about the intelligent of the little rat possesses a very strong sense of smell and able to deduce various
ingredients in food. Remy is also able to learn to read and understand the human language . Besides that
, he is a very ambitious rat that dream of being a famous chef in the future although he is just a ra t who
lives in a French countryside cottage with the rest of his rat colony.
In the movie “ the Shrek “ the climax part is when my feelings goes up and down. { how to say very
nervous } Fiona has turned into an ogre.She was cursed and turns into an ogre every night and only a
kiss from her true love will return her to he r.Shrek overhears partly of their conversation and without

3. hearing Fiona’s explanation , Shrek bought Lord Farquaad to marry Fiona the next morning .When Shrek
knew the true , he and Donkey run and stop the wedding of Fiona and Lord Farquaad .On the other hand
,in the movie “ Ratatouille” the climax part is when Linguini realizes that he cannot work on the food
without Remy and when Remy returns Linguini is so happy to see him again.With help from Remy's
colony, Linguini, Colette and Remy present to Anton Ego and a disguised Skinner a version of an ancient
dish, ratatouille. Anton Ego loves it as it reminsniese back his memories where his mother used to make
for him . It was a really nerve-racking scene as it open the curiousity of the viewers whether Ego will like
that food that Remy( rat )made.
The moral value that I got in the movie “the shrek “ is to be humble and cheerful all the time
.Despite Shrek is an ugly green ogre ,feared by all the people in the land of Duloc, he still stay
positive and live peacefully by himself in his swamp.He gets angry easily sometimes but
theres a limit ,he always make sure that he wont hurt innocent people although he has a
considerable amount of physical strength, being able to break wood and metal constructs easily.He is
also a very caring husband . He takes care of his wife ,Princess Fiona and would sacrifice his life for
her.Conversely ,in the movie “ Ratatouille “ the moral value highlighted by the aurthor is to be determined
to success.Although Remy is an idealistic and ambitious young rat, gifted with highly developed senses of
taste and smell ,he was inspired by his idol, the recently deceased chef Auguste Gusteau and dreams of
becoming a cook himself. With his determination spirit , Remy's dream finally comes true in which he
becomes a chef at the La Ratatouille bistro in Paris.
In the nutshell , I would say both of the animated movie are worth watching as it really did taught me
some lessons after watching it . I did cried after watching “ the Shrek “ movie where Princess Fiona marry
Lord Farquaad because of misunderstanding from both parties.I really did enjoy watching all this
animated movie ,writing this essay reminse back my childhood cartoon movies .
