2. INTRODUCTION
 With a career in energy spanning More than 30 years,
former Shell executive David Lawrence is an expert in the
field. While at Shell, David Lawrence offered support to
the American Association of Petroleum Geologists
(AAPG) through participation in technical sessions,
keynote presentations, and advocacy scholarship
programs. This year, the AAPG is sponsoring the
Offshore Technology Conference.
The Offshore Technology Conference is one of the
nation's largest trade shows, presenting topics,
networking opportunities, and new technologies that are
relevant to energy professionals. It has been held yearly
in Houston, Texas, since 1969.

3. OFFSHORE TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
 The 2016 conference will occur May 2 through
5, with training courses available beginning April
30. Topics will include efforts and strategies in
oil price regulation, cyber-safety and other risk-
management trends, and addressing aging oil
fields. Universities will showcase their latest
research and development, an awards
ceremony will recognize key achievements, and
attendees will be invited to a special evening of
Major League Baseball with the Houston Astros.
