Leak Testing
• Leak testing is one the most significant diagnostic processes
you can perform on your endoscopes​.
• Leak test can prevent fluid damage to scopes.​
• Be mindful that fluid entering one area of the scope can
travel through the entire internal scope in a short period of
time.
• Make sure that all buttons and valves from the scope are
removed prior to leak testing​.
• During the leak test, the scope should be isolated from all
other items.

Cleaning Endoscopes
• Clean Scope as soon as possible after the leak test
• Use the correct amount of water and cleaning solution
suggested from the manufacturer
• Scope should be completely submerged in water during
cleaning
• Staff must wear PPE

and Red Covers​
• White: Inner liner
• Green: Clean
• Red: Soiled​
