This document outlines a lesson plan for 4th and 5th grade students to research and present on endangered species. Students will work in groups to: 1) Research a selected endangered animal, identifying its physical and behavioral characteristics as well as threats to its survival. 2) Suggest adaptations that could help the animal's chances of survival. 3) Create a multimedia presentation about their animal to present to the class. The goal is for students to learn about endangered species while practicing research, collaboration, and presentation skills.

8. Research the animal using books, magazines, reference materials, and the internet to learn about the animal

13. Habitat

14. Reproduction

15. Diet

16. Factors causing endangerment

17. Discuss with students techniques to adapt the animal

18. Have studnets create and present a multimedia presentation about the animal they chose

19. Students present their presentation to class

20. Classmates as well as teacher will evaluate presentations Example : Tying it all together : Once the students have had sufficent time to complete the activity, have them share their results. Solicit suggestions and comments from the class to help further the adaptations suggested for each animal.
