4. A visiting pastor, from a Western nation, approaches you with the
following proposition: A couple in his church are having difficulty
conceiving (having a baby). The couple know that India has provided
many surrogate mothers for families in Western nations and they want
to do this (with a generous payment to the woman). However they are
concerned that the woman who bears their child should be a Christian
believer. The pastor asks, “Would you please help me find someone
who would be willing to bear this couples child?” How would you
respond? Please include your Biblical and pastoral perspectives in your
