A Little About MeMr John HayesRoom A194th Grade Instructor07:00 – 16:002754 Blunder Pl.Hamilton, ONL8T 3Z2905-694-0190 x119I was born and raised in North Tonawanda, NY, and received my Bachelor of Arts in education from SUNY Buffalo in 2007.I came to Hamilton in late 2007, and have been working for Der Blunderbussen Academy ever since.I’m promise I’m not some evil maniac; I’m a good, experienced instructor, so long as you actually want to learn.
Our Rules and ConsequencesDisrupting the class – 1st time: Warning. 2nd time: Call home. 3rd time: Referral to the office.Throwing objects whether or not they hit anyone – Any time: Call home and referral to the office. Any foul language or inappropriate behaviour – 1st time: Warning. 2nd time: Call home. 3rd time: Referral.Acts of violence – Any time: Call home and referral to the office.In the event you’re sent to the office, the vice principal may take further disciplinary action, depending on the severity of the offence, and any prior disciplinary action taken against you.
Policy on HomeworkAll homework is expected to be turned in on time.Extensions will be given ONLY in the event of verified illness or family emergency.Late work will be accepted up to 5 school days late, at a 10% penalty per day late.If you turn in an assignment three days late, the maximum grade you can get is a 70% C.Any poorly-done or incomplete assignments will not be accepted, and returned, pending revision. The late turn-in penalty will apply.
On Grading and Progress ReportsGrading PolicyProgress ReportsHomework assignments: 10% of overall grade.Tests and quizzes: 10% of overall grade.Minor class projects: 10% of overall grade.Major class projects: 20% of overall grade.Final exam: 50% of overall grade.Every 10 weeks, progress reports will be sent home with students.They must be signed by their parents and returned within one week of being sent home.This is to verify that all parents know exactly how their children are doing.
