Group 8 analyzed the elements that make an ideal township using Setia Alam in Selangor, Malaysia as a case study. Setia Alam is a 4000 acre development launched in 2004 by SP Setia Bhd at a cost of RM 20 billion. It is located within the jurisdiction of Shah Alam City Council. The elements that make Setia Alam an ideal township are that it is well-connected via green areas, integrated with a variety of building uses and facilities like residential, commercial, places of worship and schools, has abundant public spaces including parks, and has well-designed streetscapes with amenities for pedestrians.
