15. MAINTENANCE COSTS AND BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Maintenance costs are
much lower relative to
ICE variants because:
• Battery, motor, and other electronics
requiring no regular maintenance
• Fewer fluids (No engine oil)
• Brake wear significantly reduces due to
regenerative braking
• Far fewer moving part relative to
conventional gasoline engine
Battery replacement
• Li-ion battery is priced almost half of the
vehicle, but has long life and EVs come
with maintenance deals and warranty
• For e.g., Tata Nexon EV comes with 8
yrs/1.6 lakh km warranty
• Revolt Intellicorp , the only Only EV
motorcycle, offers a 8 year warranty on
battery/1.5 lakh km
• Check with dealers on this
