The rapid advancement and growing an interest towards wireless communications have been very much developed in the last decade. An application area which is expected to give a great benefit towards us is the car-to-car communications. We also known this as Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks which enables information or data to be exchange among vehicles. VANETs is one of the subgroups of Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks in which that vehicles or road-side units nodes act both as end points and routers. It was believed that VANETs have a wide range of applications such as prevention of collisions, road safety, blind crossing, real time traffic condition monitoring, etc. However, such network may have experienced some difficulty that need to be resolved first before they get implemented in practice and people would use it comfortably. Most of the problems associated with the security and privacy of VANETs. Hence, this project is to propose data confidentiality for car-to-car communications in Network Simulator 2 and also using cryptography algorithm to transmit data securely between vehicles.

These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course entitled analyzing hi-tech opportunities to analyze how autonomous vehicles are becoming economic feasible. They are becoming economically feasible because the cost of lasers, ICs, MEMS, and other electronic components are falling at 25 to 40% per year. If the cost of autonomous vehicles fall 25% a year, the cost of the electronics associated with autonomous vehicles will fall 90% in 10 years. Dedicating roads to autonomous vehicles is necessary to achieve the most benefits from autonomous vehicles. While using autonomous vehicles in combination with conventional vehicles can free drivers for other activities, dedicating roads to autonomous vehicles can dramatically reduce congestion, increase speeds, and thus increase the number of cars per area of the road. They can also reduce accidents, insurance, and the number of traffic police. These slide discuss a number of technologies that can be used for the dedicated roads including wireless communication, magnetic stripes and RFIDs that together can coordinate vehicles on roads. The slides end by summarizing efforts in Singapore.

"Mobility for a Cause" is an aspiration to use mobile systems as an agent to address complex social problems. Systems can be mobile either by design (such as drones, ground robots, autonomous vehicles), or by the manner of usage (such as phones and wearables). The aim of this talk is to share practical applications in this space, and post problems that can potentially be solved using the inherent nature of mobility.

Breast cancer is the most fatal women’s cancer, and accurate diagnosis of this disease in the initial phase is crucial to abate death rates worldwide. The demand for computer-aided disease diagnosis technologies in healthcare is growing significantly to assist physicians in ensuring the effectual treatment of critical diseases. The vital purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the classification efficiency of several machine learning algorithms with hyperparameter optimization techniques using grid search and random search to reveal an efficient breast cancer diagnosis approach. Choosing the optimal combination of hyperparameters using hyperparameter optimization for machine learning models has a straight influence on the performance of models. According to the findings of several evaluation studies, the k-nearest neighbor is addressed in this study for effective diagnosis of breast cancer, which got a 100.00% recall value with hyperparameters found utilizing grid search. k-nearest neighbor, logistic regression, and multilayer perceptron obtained 99.42% accuracy after utilizing hyperparameter optimization. All machine learning models showed higher efficiency in breast cancer diagnosis with grid search-based hyperparameter optimization except for XGBoost. Therefore, the evaluation outcomes strongly validate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed technique for breast cancer diagnosis.

We investigated the applicability and efficiency of the MLMC approach to the Henry-like problem with uncertain porosity, permeability and recharge. These uncertain parameters were modelled by random fields with three independent random variables. Permeability is a function of porosity. Both functions are time-dependent, have multi-scale behaviour and are defined for two layers. The numerical solution for each random realisation was obtained using the well-known ug4 parallel multigrid solver. The number of random samples required at each level was estimated by calculating the decay of the variances and the computational cost for each level. The MLMC method was used to compute the expected value and variance of several QoIs, such as the solution at a few preselected points $(t,\bx)$, the solution integrated over a small subdomain, and the time evolution of the freshwater integral. We have found that some QoIs require only 2-3 mesh levels and samples from finer meshes would not significantly improve the result. Other QoIs require more grid levels.

The objective is to design and develop an application that will help to imp rove the efficiency and effectiveness of the police security measures in keeping criminal records. ABSTRACT The victims can file the FIR through the website under various sections. The user can send photo evidence if any online. There will be an 'SOS 'capability in which, the user can press a button and his/her location will be sent to the nearest Police station. There will be a separate component for the accident victims so that FIR can be registered fast and treatment can be started as soon as possible. In this current system, user's information will be kept confidential and only users complain will be forwarded to its nearest police station. Users complain number will be forwarded from the server side automatically. For identifying location and authentic person, concept of cookies and IP addressing has been used. To eliminate the location conflicts between police station, server will play a vital role. It will search the address table using IP address and forward message to that police location from where the message has been received. We intend to create a project which will help bridge the gap between the police department and the common man. 'Online FIR Registration and SOS system' project will have an app from where the users can file FIR against the offender under the various sections. The main site will be maintained by the admin (from the police) who will then notify the user if the FIR has been registered and the necessary action has been taken.
