2. Our Story
Developed as a means of preserving the rich flavor of fresh jalapeno peppers during
the off season, Pepper Mash was created in a home filled with fond memories of
Cajun family dishes and Down da Bayou flavor, where spicy didn’t necessarily
mean the food had to have a lot of heat but instead about the good flavor. It was
to be a means of retaining the freshness of the jalapeno peppers for extended
periods of time without unnatural preservatives and be utilized as an alternative
to hot sauces and spices that do not always equate to an overwhelming heat
factor. In 2012, three extensions of the original Pepper Mash product utilized for
cooking, grilling or as a stand-alone condiment were certified.
Today, Pepper Mash has been introduced online, as well as a handful of local retail
stores, markets and festivals. It is building a large fan base of repeat customers
that are all enjoying its unique flavor.
