Social media (SM) is different from broadcast media. Whether it is Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ or any other social media tool, SM can be used to build relationships, share information and learn. We'll look at how you can use SM for the different aspects of your job. We learn best when we have others to discuss what we are learning and ask and answer questions. Build your own personal learning network and see how much fun and easier it is to learn with others.
Teaching is different with social media. It should be more personal and more interactive. It is scary because you are no longer the 'sage on the stage', but rather take the role of guide and even co-learner. Marketing is more of a byproduct of social media rather than the primary goal. If you build relationships and have conversations, then the marketing will happen.

Using Social Media to Strengthen Donor RelationshipsJulia Campbell
Donor retention (how many donors continue to give to your organization after their first gift) is at an all-time low. It’s abysmal and worrisome.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals found that 70% of all donors that nonprofits recruit into giving a gift never donate again to that organization!
People of all generations are online and using social media platforms. Use this fact to your advantage as social media channels can be an excellent way to strengthen donor relationships.
In this webinar, we will cover ways that your nonprofit can use social media to build relationships with donors.
On Friday 3rd July 2020, I delivered an online session as part of the #ntldbucks event.
My session outlined ways educators could manage and maintain their well-being with reference to the well-being initiative #teacher5aday.
An ever present challenge for parenting in a "connected world" is managing media use by our children. Questions abound: How much screen time is too much? Which apps and websites are appropriate for my child? This presentation contains tips and resources to help parents, teachers, and caregivers make educated decisions about their child(ren)'s media use.

This is the presentation I gave to attendees of the 2015 Diabetes Technology Meeting in Bethesda, Maryland - October 24, 2015
As you can see in the deck, data driven peer group management was first trialed in 2002. We call this social media in 2015 and yet diabetes technology is still only at the data collection phase of the opportunity. Unfortunately, social media also makes it possible for some people to enforce unwanted opinions on others. This presentation resulted in a vibrant discussion of the pros, cons, responsibilities, opportunities and tools available for professionals to incorporate a social media strategy into their practices.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.
