Effects of Force and Motion

Chelsey Rutherford
Learning Objective
• Students will be able to observe the effects
of different levels of force on different
materials and be able to predict certain
  outcomes based upon previous observations.
Learning Activity
• Students will break into groups of three. Each
student will be responsible for building a house
made of either straws, popsicle sticks, or legos.
• Each student must make two houses of the
  same material, but different sizes.
• After completing the houses, students will
attempt to knock them down or destroy them
  using force.
• They will then record their finding as to how
much force was required for each house.
Assessment
• Students will share results with the class, and
begin a discussion prompted by the teacher.
• The discussion will gauge the students ability
to comprehend the result as well as their
  ability to predict future results.
